Mad Hatter's External Utility V0.31
Jan. 8, 1994
Disclaimer: This program comes with no warranty whatsoever.
Cost: Use of this program is free to all registered users of The
Mad Hatter's TW2002 Universe Expander. Others should wrestle with
their concience (and the fact that it is now locked out <G>).
There are some problems when you run an expanded universe game. Most
of the other popular add-ons can't handle multiple universes. This tends to
make the night event a real horror storey.
I've had lots of inquiries about "Will this work with the Expander"
or should I do this... Some of them will - some won't. Almost all need to be
run once per universe. So I (and my old partner in crime, the Romulan Prince)
are working up a bunch of utilities to work with expanded universe games. I
am also giving out all the info needed to program for the Expander. If you
know anyone who wants the info (and I am putting together a TW2002 programmers
area on my board) tell them to get in touch with me.
This program is the result. It checks planetary shielding, and
gives bank interest. There is a congfiguration file called MADEXTRN.INF
which allows you to set these features.
The question is what should I do now? I could add all sorts of
extras (Q seems to be popular, though that's David Proper's pet). I could
do just about anything your heart desires.
What are your suggestions?

Installation:
This program must be run from the Expander directory (it reads 1.CFG, the
Expander's config file to find out where the universes are). Edit it into
your nightly event. It only needs to run once, even if there are 20
universes to check. It issues no reports, just does it's job quietly and
exits. Oh, and it should not be run while a user is on-line. This will be
fixed in a later version. If a user is on-line when this program is run it
will drop carrier.
