Labels:text | screenshot | font | design OCR: POWER STOCKS From WoodyWare and CompuLink Thank you for playing WoodyWare's Power Stocks! Below is the in- structions and a few tips on playing the game. We did save a few things as surprises while you're playing online :) The option of the game is the have the highest score. The score is computed the following way: Money on Hand + Money in Bank + Value of Shares of Stock you have in your portfolio. The basic commands are: B - Buy Stocks S - Sell Stocks W Withdraw Money From Bank D - Deposit Money in Bank X - Display Your Current Status And Scores K - Skip a Turn Q - Quit Game and Return To BBS One of the unique features of Power Stocks is that there are 3 'Artificial Intelligent" players playing the same time you are! They buy and sell stock, deposit and withdraw money from the bank just like you. When Stocks reach a certain price over $150 they will SPLIT and if you have any of that stock your # will double! Some stocks report dividends. When this happens and you have x number of shares of that stock, the # of shares you have is multiplied by the dividend and added to your Money On Hand total. During every approximately 10th turn your Money In Bank will draw interest. The interest incrued is random depending on which bank you have it in <g>. Stocks Change prices during: * Every approximately 5th turn the ticker tape is updated * When AI players buy and sell stock * Depending on the month of the year * Depending on whether a crisis in a particular area is averted or not [ Keep an eye on the stocks; you'll learn when they change quickly] The ticker tape (main screen) is simple. The first column is the number of that stock. To BUY or SELL stocks, you pick the NUMBER of that stock. Next is the Stock Abbreviation. Then is the percent change from last ticker update, Stock lowest price, Stock Highest Price, and finally the number of shares you own. Just remember if you have trouble during the game to press ? Hints on playing the game? Like "real life" on wall street. Buy low and sell high. If a stock is below 0 then it is in chapter 11 bankruptcy and it may or may not come back. If you can't do anything just hit K and it will skip a turn and things may turn to your advantage. If your stocks aren't doing well remember that your money in bank draws interest. IMPORTANT: Remember that you can ONLY by stocks with the money you have on hand. If you don't have enough to buy x number of amounts of stock withdraw money from the bank. This is version 1.0.0 of Power Stocks and I'm sure something will crop up that is wrong; seems like it always does no matter how many beta testers and times I've put it through the wringer. So if it screws up let your sysop know and I'll do my best to correct the problem. If this version of Power Stocks is unregistered please help or encourage your sysop to register. When registered, you can trade in up to 16 stocks (not just 5) and your sysop will have access to the editor to update the stocks .
