Domain Shopper (c) 1992-93 Domain Entertainment
Program Features
Thank you for showing interest in the Domain Shopper, possibly the
most self explanitory, easy to use door of it's type. The Domain Shopper
allows your users to place orders for products using their credit card
while on your BBS. Most credit card doors accomplish this same task, but they
are lacking in the features that are contained in the Domain Shopper.
This file will give you an overview of the features that are packed into the
Domain Shopper. (* indicates new feature)
* Up to 99 catalogs of up to 10,000 products each for a total of up to
990,000 products! (previously limited to 1,000 products max).
* Keeps track of stock on hand, won't let users order that product when
stock gets to 0. This feature can be disabled for unlimited
purchasing. (not previously available).
* Automated credit card charging. (not previously available, additional
software and services from companies supporting PC credit card
validation is required).
* RIP graphics support! A picture is worth a thousand words, now you
can SHOW your users what your products look like! (not previously
available, purchase of RIPaint required for drawing of pictures).
RIPaint is copyright by TeleGrafix Communications, Inc.
* Got a database of products you just don't look forward to typing in?
Domain Entertainment may be able to help with a program to make a
Domain Shopper database out of the one you've already got! (extra
charge, fee varies based on difficulty and size of database among
other factors).
* Four (4) programmable shipping methods based on weight of items!
(not previously available).
* Catalogs can be given level, age, and flag restrictions to only allow
certain users to view certain catalogs! (not previously available).
* Necessary conversion files are available free of charge for converting
from previous versions of Domain Shopper!
o Domain Shopper and Domain InstaTeller can be run from the same directory,
allowing them both to share the same user database, as well as the same
order files and trashcan files!
o Sysop configuration/maintenance program has an easy to use text window
interface, with scrolling light bars for convenience.
o Printed documentation shipped with every order.
o Product catalogs along with prices and shipping charges are viewable
within the door. All catalogs and products within them can be added/
removed/edited using the Sysop maintenance program.
o Users can search the catalog database for a text match. Each product
description is scanned for the match. If any matches are found, the
catalog number, product, and price/shipping charges are displayed.
o Each product can be marked as taxable or non-taxable, each product can
have an extended description (on top of it's normal single line
description), and each product has individually configurable prices and
shipping charges.
o Users are kept in a database so that information doesn't need to be
entered over and over again (users CAN edit their file if any changes
are needed). Users can be viewed or deleted from the database using the
Sysop maintenance program.
o Orders are saved in an invoice type format, which can be printed to the
screen or to a printer using the Sysop maintenance program.
o Built in card number authenticity checking (for Visa, MasterCard, American
Express, Diner's Club, Discover and others) to help eliminate false credit
card numbers. The door will accept only those cards that you allow.
o When an order is placed using the program, a message is sent to the
BBS to inform the Sysop that there are orders waiting.
o In state orders automatically have state tax added to them (on items
marked as 'taxable').
o Supports 'Guest' account ordering, this allows systems which choose to
allow the 'Guest' account to access the door, to accept orders from that
account.
o Has trashcan files for phone numbers, credit card numbers, and names
to prevent the continued use of bad numbers as well as false names.
End of file.
