Transcription: As the engine runs, the water in the cooling system heats up. This in turn heats the wax which expands, opening a valve. The water can then circulate around the cooling system. This stops the engine from overheating. As the water cools, the wax contracts, closing the valve. This prevents the engine from becoming too cold.
