OCR: BIG BONES IN MONTANA B ARNUM BROWN (1873-1963), a U.S. fossil collector, was working for the American Museum of Natural History in 1902 when he discovered giant theropod bones at Hell Creek in Montana. He spent the next two summers excavating the skeleton from hard sandstone. The bones were so heavy that Brown had to build a special horse-drawn sledge to carry them to the nearest road.
