OCR: VARIABLE STAR A VARIABLE STAR is one that gives off a varying amount of light. The light from a variable star may vary regularly or irregularly depending on its type. Examples of irregular variables are those stars that are in the process of formation, or stars exploding into supernovas. Regular variables include the pulsating stars, and the eclipsing-binary stars.
