OCR: GEYSER .................... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . A GEYSER IS a jet of gas or vapor that periodically erupts at high pressure through a crack in the surface of a planet or moon. An eruption occurs when gas or liquid in an underground reservoir is heated by molten rock from the object's interior. The temperature in the reservoir steadily rises, and, when it reaches boiling point, pressure forces gas or vapor up through the surface.
