The Acclaim booth was one of the most popular sections of floor space ever imaginable. Mortal Kombat II will be coming in September, and the Summer Consumer Electronics Show was a great time and place for Acclaim to show off their "heavyweight" before its highly anticipated release. It does appear that all versions, including the Super NES, will have blood. For some people that is a minor detail, but to others, it will make the game. Other than the blood issue, Mortal Kombat II should look very similar to its big brother arcade version.
Another Acclaim title being displayed at the CES was Maximum Carnage. In this "comic book" game you can play as Spiderman, Captain America, Venom or Carnage. Maximum Carnage will be released for Super NES and Genesis and will feature a soundtrack by Green Jelly. An animated TV series is scheduled for release at the same time.
Even meaner than its predecessors, WWF RAW will feature all of the same bone breaking moves as well as super flip elbow-drops and more. The most exciting addition to yet another wrestling game is the support of up to four players. For all of you that enjoyed the previous WWF games, this should be just as intense and entertaining.
