NOTE: For MT-32, CM-32L, CM-64L, LAPC-1, and 100 percent compatibles
============================================================================
This is not hard. The file included an instrument patch, player, Midi song
file, and a reset patch. All you have to to to have the song play properly
(minus any hardware problems that you have such as not have all cables etc
hooked-up properly) is execute the BAT file. The reset is AUTOMATIC. Will
load a patch, play the song and reset.
OK. If your reading further you are doing so for the following reasons:
1. You placed the song in you sequencer and it sounded real strange, but
remembered that there were more than one file file in the Zipp'ed file and
were wonder what they were etc.
2. You noticed that there was more than on file in the unzip and was
wondering what the heck was going on.
3. You are weird, you read all docs and txt files before executing and file.
In either case this is not Rocket Science! I could not make something that
complicated. You have unzipped a file that includes an instrument patch, a
program to install the instrument patch, a program to play the midi, and will
also reset (attempt) to reset to you original instruments.
IN OTHER WORDS>>>> EXECUTE THE BAT (batch) FILE. Why? Let me explain.
I like to fool around with the instruments and develop new sounds (not saying
they are any good or anything but..). During this developing (playing around)
alterations occur in the basic MT-32 instrument set-up. Sooo... an instrument
patch is developed and must be installed before the song (Mid) will have the
proper (intended) sound quality (If that is too much technical jargon, it is
for me for I am reading this stuff from a book, Then The Bottom Line Is - if
the damn patch is not in the sound-board the song will sound real sucko).
Well there are several way to handle this and I being a lazy individual
decided to include the entire "Ball of Wax" for the file. Just execute the
*.BAT file.
When the BAT file is executed, things should run themselves (at least they do
here). Of course you can load the patch and midi file a variety of different
(of which I am too lazy to do)
If you are a true musical enthusiast with an eye towards quality, timing,
harmony, overtones and etc, then don't waste your time, you won't find much
of that here, some some hard hitting Rock and Roll. I do this for fun and
like ROCK & ROLL!!!
Enough excuses (CMA), Try it, the worst thing that can happen is you'll have
to re-boot (turn the power off) and still the sun will come up tomorrow.
Enjoy some R&R.
