CONTROL TAB Deletes 5 spaces to the right
INSERT Toggles overwriting
ALTERNATE INSERT Inserts a blank line using the default color attributes
ALTERNATE I Inserts a blank column at the cursor position
DELETE Deletes position at cursor, by line only
ALTERNATE DELETE Removes line at current cursor position
ALTERNATE D Removes column at current cursor position
BACKSPACE Deletes left towards beginning of line, by line only
V-EDIT DRAWING COMMANDS
CONTROL ARROWS Draws initialized characters in respective direction
CONTROL INSERT Draws diagonal: bottom to top, left to right
CONTROL PAGE UP Draws diagonal: top to bottom, left to right
CONTROL PAGE DOWN Draws diagonal: top to bottom, right to left
CONTROL DELETE Draws diagonal: bottom to top, right to left
ALTERNATE B Writes backwards every other space
ALTERNATE S Writes forwards every other space
ALTERNATE V Draws double reverse blinking border(s), cyclic function
ALTERNATE W Draws custom shaded border, using current attributes
ALTERNATE X Draws single, double line, or near even space border, using
current attributes; this ia a cyclic function
ALTERNATE Y Puts cursor at row 12, column 40

F2 Centers characters on current row, disregards spaces
SHIFT F2 Centers characters on all rows, disregards spaces
F3 Pastes Last Block, if existing
SHIFT F3 Cut last Block pasted
F4 Clear screen in default background color
SHIFT F4 Changes default to current background color
F5 Scrolls foreground colors foward
SHIFT F5 Scrolls foreground colors backward
ALTERNATE F5 Toggles blink foreground color
F6 Scrolls background colors foward
SHIFT F6 Scrolls background colors backward
ALT F6 Resets background color to default
F7 Scrolls through 18 sets, Select by using number keys +
SHIFT F7 Scrolls through 18 sets, Select by using number keys -
ALT F7 Resets set to default, numbers 1 to 0
V-EDIT FUNCTION COMMANDS
F8 Replaces all characters, that match the character at the
current cursor position, with the new character sample
SHIFT F8 Clears screen within, double Y, X border
F9 Global UNDO, restores from most edit functions
SHIFT F9 UNDO the UNDO command
F10 Starts Block Function
SHIFT F10 UNDO anything done in Block Function
F11 Font Draw Function, cyclic thru all sets, arrow keys move,
Escape exits function F1 displays more help, Uses Insert
SHIFT F11 SCAN, Returns attributes of current cursor position
F12 PCB @X Macro insertion utility Commands inside function
include all cursor movements, F1 toggles display of both
@X Macro as well as editor code, F7 changes macro, Space-
bar selects macro and pastes editor code at current cursor
position and in current attributes, Escape exits funtion
Any other key shows function help

HOME Moves to beginning of the row
END Moves to end of the row
CONTROL HOME Moves to row 1, column 1
END Moves to row 23, column 80
PAGE UP, DOWN Moves to row 1, Moves to row 23; current column position
UP, DOWN Moves up or down in rows, in current column
LEFT, RIGHT Moves left or right in columns, in current row

ALTERNATE UP Move Block up
ALTERNATE DOWN Move Block down
ALTERNATE LEFT Move Block left
ALTERNATE RIGHT Move Block right
ALTERNATE F Reverses the order and color sequence of the block
F1 Begin Block movement function
SHIFT F1 Reset Block to original position
ESCAPE Exits Block Move Function

1ST ENTER Anchors starting position of area to be Blocked
2ND ENTER Registers ending position of area to be Blocked
ESCAPE Exits Block Function
Example: From the V-EDIT screen, press F10 to start the Block Function
move your cursor to the top, left corner of the object in which you wish
to Block, Press ENTER, move to bottom right corner, Press ENTER again
V-EDIT BLOCK FUNCTION COMMANDS
F2 Cuts the blocked area
SHIFT F2 Displays the coordinates of the last blocked area
F3 Pastes block at current cursor position
SHIFT F3 Cuts last block pasted
F4 Changes block color to current color attributes
SHIFT F4 Restores block to previous color attributes
F5 Scrolls foreground colors foward
SHIFT F5, Scrolls foreground colors backward
ALTERNATE F5 Toggles blink foreground color
F6 Scrolls background colors foward
SHIFT F6 Scrolls background colors backward
ALTERNATE F6 Resets background color to default
F7 Scrolls through 18 sets foward
SHIFT F7 Scrolls through 18 sets backward
Select by using number keys 0 through 9
ALTERNATE F7 Resets set to default, numbers 0 to 9
NOTE: Although you can not write while in the Block Function, pressing
a character, or selecting an item from the sets, will change the
fill character for function key F8 Set #9, Char #0 = ASCII# 255
F8 Fills blocked area with selected characters
SHIFT F8 Restores blocked area with original characters using
current attributes
F9 UNDO all prior Block commands
SHIFT F9 Clears blocked area in default color attribute
F10 NEW BLOCK RESET
SHIFT F10 Gets last blocked area
F11 Replaces character in block, at cursor pos with sample
SHIFT F11 Replaces color of all characters in block with current
attributes
ALTERNATE F11 Replaces color of specified character at cursor pos in the
block with the current attributes
F12 Rotates block 90° clockwise, pastes at current cursor pos
V-EDIT PAGE COMMANDS
ALTERNATE P Starts the Page Command Function
PAGE UP Moves up one page
PAGE DOWN Moves down one page
HOME Moves to the first page
END Moves to the last page
ALTERNATE A Appends a blank page after the file
INSERT Inserts a blank page before the current page
DELETE Deletes the current page
ESCAPE Exits function
ANY OTHER KEY Shows function Help
V-EDIT STATUS BAR
ROW Current row cursor is in, white when active
COL Current column cursor is in, white when active
1:1 - 0:0 Current character set, F7 changes set, Press 1 - 0
to select particular symbol, 'S' at 0 in set 12,
signifies 'SPACE' and can be used for drawing lines
or boxes in current background color attribute
NOTE: Set #9, Char #0 = ASCII# 255 Use of this character will affect V-EDIT's
various functions, has the attributes of a space, but acts like a char-
acter ie: Use with F2, to center, in a right screen quadrant AT 12,40
TYPE 5 SPACES ascii#32, THEN HELLO, at 13,40 TYPE 5 #255's, THEN HELLO
PRESS SHIFT F2 NOTE THE DIFFERENCE!
V-EDIT STATUS BAR
INS, CAPS, NUM Insert is on, Caps Lock is on, Number Lock is on
BLOCK FUNCTION You are using the Block Function
FULL MOTION NET US!
NOTE: As soon as you type a character you will see a sample of 3 of them
between the COL # and the character sets, in the current foreground
and background color attributes SPC meaning space, just a holder
V-EDIT MISC. COMMANDS
ESCAPE Pressing ESCAPE in V-EDIT main screen will save the screen
and put you in the File Manager, SEE FCON HELP
ALTERNATE T Extends or shortens display message time, pending your
processor speed, this is a cyclic command function
ALTERNATE N Turns On/Off the top clear screen, for both ANSI and PCB
formats, if a clear, "ESC[2J or @CLS@" already exists in
the file it will not duplicate it
ALTERNATE M Use of ALT M, at the main level in V-EDIT, toggles on/off,
the ability to save with the "@POS:NN@" positioning macro,
during the PCB FORMAT CONVERSION routine If "ON" will save
as much as 25% file space
FROM THE COMMAND LINE: To open a file & start V-EDIT, type either using the
batch file or EXE: V [drive]:\[path]\[filename], not case sensitive,
or V [filename] only if in current dir EXAMPLE: "V C:\VED\MYFILESCR"
OR "V Q"
BEEP, CHIRP, BUZZ Signals, observe status. Message, task complete, good
noise. Function off, error, bad noise
