IF YOU WANT DOCs :
Most of the necessary information is in the help screen. Simply type
PLAYINT at the DOS prompt, and the help screen will be displayed.
▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
THE DEMO :
I included the file FLESHWOU.SND just so that all of you folks who
have an Adlib card, and try this out, can know what I'm talking about. To
hear it, simply type :
PLAYINT FLESHWOU
This isn't the best sampling I have, but its the best for its size. If you
want more demo sounds, visit your local BBS's Amiga section.

A FAIRLY QUICK SUMMERY ON HOW TO USE PLAYINT :
The basic usage for PlayInt is:
PLAYINT <filename> [/o <override rate>]
<filename> - is the name of the file (wild characters are valid). If no
extension is specified, then .SND will be assumed.
[/o <override rate>] - is manditory only if the file being played doesn't have
the Amiga 8SVR header.
Example of usage :
PLAYINT HELLO /o 16000
This will play the file HELLO.SND with a 16000 override value.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF PLAYINT :
The general philosophy behind version changes is: If the size of a
window is changed, a window is added, or a major feature is added or removed
from the program, a tenths place decimal change is made (ie from 1.10 to 1.20).
Anything below this is a hundereths place decimal change, and I still havn't
quite decided what would require a units place change.
v??.?? - Didn't have a number, but was included in the file PLAYERS.ZIP. This
was out about a week before the first major release. Basically was
just raw data, and the wonderful sounding converter.
v01.00 - Wasn't actually documented with a version number, but was basically
the first major release.
Text windows were added, and so was the help screen.
v01.01 - Was documented with its version number.
Had just had a couple minor type bugs fixed (the sound counter was
changed from Word to LongInt).
v01.10 - Let the user halt the play.
Could now read the Amiga headers :
Read in the speed from header
Read in the needed sizes
Read in the name
Read in the creator
Override was added (due to the fact that speed was now read in from
the header).
v01.20 - Started to assume the .SND if no extension was specified.
Allowed wild characters for the first time.
v01.21 - Fixed a bug with the out-of-directory parameters.
v01.30 - The "files to play" section was added on the data window.
All of the windows were stuck together into one file.
v01.31 - Fixed a bug concerning non-existant files.
Added an exit procedure (to help you not to crash so hard).
v01.32 Fixed a bug that showed leftover information.

Amiga is a registered trademark of Commodore-Amiga, Inc. (Don't worry, we just
had to put that in).
No guarantee, expressed or implied is valid with this program. If you're
upset because for some reason it does something you don't think it should,
you may write us, and we'll probably take it to heart, but as far as the
law is concerned, its no problem of ours.
This program may be freely distributed and used as long as you wish. It may
not be modified in any way. And it must be distributed with AT LEAST the
following files :
PLAYINT.EXE - Main running program
PLAYINT.DOC - This doccumentation file
PLWIN .DAT - These are an ever growing assortment of windows
???????.SND - Demo sample files (should have at least one)
If you do wish to donate to the cause, send whatever ammount of cash to one
(or more) of the addresses listed at the end of this file. If you send $15 or
more, you'll recieve the newest version on disk. Please include the size of
disk that you want, your phone number (just in case something strange happens),
and your address.

A FEW QUICK NOTES :
Basically, this program was made by Jon Barnhart. I just wrote the
DOCs, and put in the windows. The real complex stuff was done by Jon.
There are two problems with this program, so don't panic and think
your machine is faulty if one or more of the following happens :
1 - A small hiccup sound is made when the disk drive runs. Don't worry - this
is our fault. It is the result of having the interrupt called so many
times, then when DOS wants time to run the drive, the machine pukes (it does
it quickly). If you have a solution to this problem, write either one of
us at the address provided below.
2 - The windows come up with all kinds of amusing patterns. This is a result
of being in a different directory besides the one that the .BIN files are
in. If you run it from the correct directory, it'll look OK. It does work
from a different directory though, so if you need to do any quick runs, and
could care less about the windows, run it from where you please.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with
[his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that

SOME LIMITED TECHNICAL STUFF :
The following is a list of fields shown on playint when a song is
played.
Field Name What it shows
---------- ------------------------------------------------------------------
Amiga Name The name of the original Amiga file (as listed in the header)
Form Type The type of IFF compression (I think) - this is checked at start
Smple Rate The sample rate
Creator The program that was used to create this sound
BlockSize The size of the current memory block (should start at 65535)
Curr Block The number of the current block (starting at 1)
