  2. ViewTGA is a shareware version of the world's best targa file viewing and
  3. conversion utility for EGA, VGA and SVGA monitors.

  5. To see a usage message, type "viewtga" with no parameters.  ViewTGA defaults
  6. to viewing a targa image in the VGA mode which allows the largest area of the
  7. image to be onscreen.  You may force mode 12 or 13 (to see the outstanding
  8. color mapping) by using the -v switch.
  9.  
  10. To save the 8 bit image to a file, press '8' while viewing an image.  You will
  11. not be able to view the 8-bit image file with viewtga. Many of our users
  12. convert to 8-bit using viwetga or ColorView and then perform GIF or other
  13. lossless compressions. Our $99 PICView conversion utility wil allow you to perform this compression and other conversions.

  15. ViewTGA will view 16, 24, or 32 bit targa files and uncompressed tiff 24 bit
  16. files in either VGA mode 12 or 13 or in EGA mode 10.   We believe that you
  17. will find that the colormapping and speed is the best available.  Please let
