  1. This file is part of a collection of comprehensive LMPs. They have been made
  2. to show other players all aspects of the level, all secrets and all tricks.
  3. This all began with these annoying messages in the ACTION GAMES Forum which
  4. said that The Ultimate DOOM is too hard or even impossible. <g> So I had to
  5. prove that it is not. <G> To emphasize this I played the levels one after
  6. another, starting every time with 50 bullets and this lousy pistol. As I am
  7. writing this I just finished Thy Flesh Consumed and wondered if I could also
  8. do this with DOOM II. But first I gotta finish Knee-deep in the Dead. <g> I
  9. will unfrequently release new bunches of records as time moves on. Those records
  10. for The Ultimate DOOM will be named ULTIDMxy.ZIP (x = Episode, y = Map) and
  11. those for DOOM II DOOM2_xx.ZIP (xx = Map). There won't be any records for
  12. normal DOOM since Ultimate DOOM covers this. I don't know if records for
  13. Ultimate DOOM will display right for DOOM.
  14. *Checked this, except for E1M1 the levels are all the same in Ultimate DOOM*.
  15. So they will work for normal DOOM, too.

  23.                 Here's how to start DOOM to play LMPs

  26. The -playdemo parameter is used to play a previously recorded LMP file. Don't
  27. put the .LMP extension behind the filename since this will be appended
  28. automatically. Type this:

  30. DOOM -playdemo ultidm42
  31.  
  32. This will start DOOM and playing the ULTIDM42.LMP file. You can also provide
  33. pathnames if the LMP is not in the same directory as DOOM.
  34. This is similar to DOOM II, except that you have to type DOOM2 instead of
  35. DOOM :

  37. DOOM2 -playdemo doom2_08

  39. This will play the DOOM2_08.LMP file.
