  8. *** Remember to backup your DOOM.EXE before applying the patch! ***

  10. Here is version 2.1 of my ARSENAL patch updated for DOOM 1.666
  11.  
  12. Remember to load ARSENAL.WAD using the '-file' option or or the grenades 
  13. won't sound right.
  14.  
  15. Included is a quick and dirty batch file that applies the patch and runs
  16. doom with the PWAD. It works for me, use at your own risk!
  17.  
  18. This patch modifies the graphics, sound and behavior of the weapons:
  19.  
  20. Punch    -> Fast punch
  21. Chainsaw -> QuickSaw - 4 times more damage
  22. Pistol   -> Pocket Blunderbuss - perfect for riot control
  23. Shotgun  -> Automatic Assult Shotgun
  24. Chaingun -> 2x Speed Chaingun like Arnold uses
  25. Rocket   -> Hand grenades! (whole new strategy!)
  26. Plasma   -> BFG750 Energy Cannon
  27. BFG9000  -> BFR-27 What does BFR stand for?

  31. The BFG750 blast can hurt you, and if a mis-thrown grenade lands near
  32. you, don't hang around!
  33.  
  34. Picking up the rocket launcher will give you the ability to throw grenades.
  35. (ammo = rockets)

  37. Picking up the BFG will actually give you the rocket launcher. 
  38. (ammo = cells)
  39.  
  40. The Pocket Blunderbuss runs on shells. This means when you start a fresh 
  41. game, you can't use it until you collect some shells!

  45. The Cyberdemon now throws grenades!
  46. Grenades don't fall to the floor, they just 'hang' there. Sorry!
