OCR: Visions of Reality Information Packet September Pack, Nineteen Nighty-Four Welcome to the September edition of the Visions of Reality artwork. The Visions of Reality art pack is a representative of the artwork that has been made as advertisements for bulletin boards (or other groups) by Visions of Reality members. This pack has been going out monthly, ever since fall of 1993. The pack is only a represetative of the artwork that has been used as advertisements, and all work by artists may or may not be included. This file is to to give the viewer of the Visions of Reality packet information as to what has going on in the group for the past month. This includes major news, additions of members, and general talk about Visions of Reality: " The major event of the month was the leaving of three major musicians in Reality Waves (RAW), the Visions of Reality Music Sub-Group. The three people that left were Dark Wolf, Muttonhead, and Ace of Northwall. RAW had mostly been based on the music of these three musicians in the past month. Dark Wolf and Muttonhead both left RAW when they went to college, in the middle of the month. Technically they are still in the group, they just want be able to produce nearly as much. Ace of Northwall left on quite different circumstances. Ace left for several compiling reasons. Ace primarily felt that with school and band coming up, he would not have the time to spend doing music for a computer group. Ace is now in a group called NPi, where he is working on his coding skills. During the month of August, we decided that maybe it was time for RAW to pass on - to die. So, we put the mods and mtms of the month into the VOR pack. But the music was taking up too much space and was created too huge of a pack. So then we decided to try to salvage it. The existing members are Hollow Point, Pluto, Dark Wolf, Muttonhead, and Pizza Dude. However, we have decided to go on a "campaign" to get more members. Hence, the RAW pack has been delayed until further notice, until we feel that we are once again strong enough to show a good pack. Specifics of Each Indivual Section of the Month: The ANSI section has been steadily improving these past few months with artists such as Scythe, Silver Rat, Hollow Point, Lord Scarlet, and quite a few others. This month, the ANSI section has picked up a few additional members to help with the workload. These members include The Dog, Spam, Zenophobus and Bright Shadow. All of these members have work showcased in the VOR pack this month. The Dog is out of the 703 area code and started out with cartoon characters while recently grasping shading. Spam is out of Texas and looks like a rapidly improving ansi artist. Zenophobus is out of 301 and is also a cartoon artist. Bright Shadow was recruited mainly for font works for specific jobs. Over in the VGA section, several big events transpired. Venom, our VGA Head, was hit with a nasty virus that caused him to format his hard Due to that incident, and a vacation he had taken, Venom won't have any work to show for in the pack. In good news, the VGA section has picked drive. up Hros (also in UNION) and Sonic Enigma (also in SHIVER) to help with the VGA section. Ackman keeps improving with his first original picture for a JGA this month, and Dark Wolf has ventured into the High Resolution realms. Inquisitor Thrax, who has been away without a modem has re-appeared with two pieces. Calypso has dropped out of the scene for a while. He still plans to lurk around and turn in a piece every once in a while though. This month he turned in two pieces. " The rip section has it's first RIP. The RIP section is our weakest section, and we will honestly accept anyone who can do any RIP at this point. We only have two RIP artists, Raistlin Ma jere and Shatterstar. Raistlin completed a quickie font early in the month for the pack and had been working on an another rip for a few weeks, but ran into some other problems. Shatterstar is still getting the feel for RIPs and has been busy with other things as well. . In the coding department, Sinister Outlaw released a loader using the artwork of Shadowdancer, Lord Scarlet, and a mod from Hollow Point. Lief O' Pardy updated Illuminate to extreme measures now including a title screen, ANSI->SVGA modes, among other things. Absolute Zero was also picked up this month to help code gifs into loaders. . Our courier division has also increased. Although only a few couriers were picked up, every one of our distros can now be couriered to either via the internet or via the couriers. Our new couriers are Tyrus Sithius, The Krazy Little Punk, and Plasmatoid. " There is no lit in this month's pack. No, we didn't kill the LIT division, but rather, the lit head has thought of a better way to release the lit. This "project" should be done within the next few weeks to maybe month and will be released with a vor pack. This idea was thought up so that the people who like lit can easily access it, and those who don't won't have to bitch about it. In summary, this has been another good month for VOR, especially considering the circumstances. Just about everyone in the group has gone on vacation sometime or another during the month. Some of our members have been have personal problems (that's what you get when you try to have a life outside of computers, heh) and our vga was virii'ed with a nasty virus from a fake release. Still, we have a huge pack to show for the month and things seem alright for now. . If you want to compliment us on our pack, bitch at us for our pack, laugh at us for our pack, apply to us due to the pack, shit on us for our pack, or just say hi, we can be reached in a variety of methods. The quickest way would be to call our WHQ, Seminole Wind at (301) 236-9030, and login as VOR, with the password VOR and leave mail to someone important like Widow Maker or Venom or Shadowdancer or Sinister Outlaw or Hollow Point or something like that. The second easiest way would be to e-mail us through the internet at vor@arcanum .clark. net. Other ways of reaching us would be: (1) e-mail <username>Carcanum.clark . net (example: venom@arcanum . clark . net dark . wolf@arcanum . clark. net, etc). If you have Internet IRC access, then you can usually find vor members in the #vor channel. Some of our nicks are widow_mak, venom, sdancer, skarecrow, dark_wolf, ackman, etc. You get the point. We did have a Voice Mail Box set up for a short time, but it died after a week of having it. We plan on getting another one in the very near future. -wm Oh yeah, my k-elite greets: jor members: yoyo phaserx: is your board 1-800 yet? dark wolf: hurry up and get your internet account winter rose: okay, so i'm a sexist pig, or that a sexy hog? : ) time killer: don't forget me this time sandman: dammit, i should have been organizing the pack, not playing doom 21 : sids: do i smell "A"? < g> ap: still using your account, but i am getting one REAL soon opiate: 0p14+3ti! farmicus: damn you hick, stop watching CHiPS and get that metro line :) black knight: . . . and to enforce JUSTICE ! black knight : number cruncher: i still want those NIN tapes the guardian: it's only at 128 lines, we can't stop now, we must match SHiVER!
