OCR: #28 union december 1994 Howdy pilgrims . Once again it is Neurotic writing the lame ass nfo file, and this month I bring some sad news. One of our integral members, Darkforce, has decided to leave Union. As you can see from his work this month, he decided to go with a bang. Darkforce has been with us since June of 94, before we were the big ultratrendy group we are today. During his time in Union he produced 13 kick ass ansis for us. He's decided to join a local group run by some friends of his, something that I understand completely. No matter what group you are in, the pull of REAL friendship has to be greater. There's a big difference in being in a group where the other people are just names and being in a group where the other people are people you know, and have met. I know I'll miss seeing his work in the Union pack, as will many others. He always has a home in Union if he ever wants to return. On a happier note this month, KOOL IS BACK !! YEE HAA! Yes, after being in Alaska, and having his computer go bewm, the originator of bitch ansis is back. Hey Malik, I've gone bitch too now. : ). This means that Exiled Race is back up, and is once again Western HQ. Except it's called Player's Club. Everybody go harass him. MD ' says' that Packaged Rebellion will once again be up with a coolio new modem (that works). Yeah, sure MD. : ) Jello Insanity is temporarily down due to new hardware being installed as well as new software being configged. Despair 2 will be temporarily taking it's place as the Central HQ/drop site. I probably wanted to say something important here, but I forgot. New dudes with union this month include NeuroPsychosis, who joins a music department with some snazzy tunes. For those of you who are still waiting for the music disk, welp, grab a copy of Psychosis Emag #8, it features a ton of songs by union muzaq guys. It's due to come out any day now . Prisoner#1 joins us from the Fire team this month. His has some rather interesting ideas for ansis, and likes to draw animals too. He cites Hound as one of his inspirations. See Kev, people *DO* like you. : ) Mephitopeles (did i spell that right?) joins us from Shiver this month. He's great at shading, if only he'd listen to me and draw bigger ansis. : ) Phoenix also joins us this month, doing ansi and rip. This guy is yet another of our artists from the 314 ac, and he has some pretty cool shit. New in the courier department this month is Reaper Wildwood and Ta2! Yeah! Taz got his Id block taken off and he's back ... We're making yet another probably fatal attempt at having a telecom division this month, with iP and DWarrior joining the group. Hopefully it'll work this time. This in no way implies anything illegal, they just, uhm, hold the phone and dial the numbers for us. Uhm. Yeah. Uh That's it. My mum drew an ansi this month to show off her talents to the unbelieving audience of Somms and RaDMan. This ansi is 100% pure fiction, in no way implies the truth, and does not signify any bad blood between us or acid. At least, that's what we're saying until MD decides whether or not he should press charges of sexual harassment. Unfortunately, for most of the duration of the month I was without the benefit of having access to an internet account. Instead I had to use a lame ass anonymous irc client. Damn you Barron. But thinks are looking up, I once again have accounts flowing out of my butt. Canada sucks guys. I have to spend around 80 minutes each day walking back and forth from school in the snow. Yes, I feel like a moron for having one class in the morning and one class in the afternoon, with about 3 hours inbetween them. This is what I get for dropping out of chemistry. Oh yeah, this goes out to Marc and Paul, if you expect to recruit people you should give them better help with their homework. I only got like 54% on that lab report. : ) I'd like to give a word of advice to artists everywhere, I've been talking to people in some other groups and I've found them unhappy with their position there. I asked them why they stuck with the group then, and they responded that it was because they thought they would get ragged on by the senior staff of the group if they left. This pissed me off when I heard it. Oh, I'd seen it before, some people would bitch because they didn't get the artist's best work that month (the artist was in more than one group), or bitching because the guy didn't draw 5 gabillion pieces of work. I know myself that if anyone had told me that I would have told them to take their group and shove it. Groups are made up of teams of individuals working together. If you're not enjoying your being in the group then you should leave. It's one thing to leave a group because you want to be "more elite" in some higher up group, it's another to leave the group because you're not enjoying yourself and you know there's somewhere else where you could be happier. (leaving for reason #1 is bad) I try to stay true to this belief myself, the only people I try to encourage to work are people I've known for a long time, and I consider friends, not acquantances. In most cases this even fills out Maestro's definition of friends, people whom I have met in real life and known for a long time. I'm not going to tell John Doe what to do when I've only known him for 30 minutes. This is a hobby people, not some underground pseudo-society with a definate hierchy that allows for the exploitation of others. Anyways, I think that's enough of the miscellaneous bullshit. See you in whatever many days. On another note, the pack was not late this month. We're just lazy, and as we approach our first year aniversary, we feel we have every right to capitalize on our maturity by releasing whenever we feel like it. neurotica UG * PLUG * PLUG * PLUG * PLUG * PLUG * PLUG * PLUG * PLUG * PLUG * PL Hey there ereet guy, looking for a cool ansi for your board? Already finished masturbating to Neurotic's work this month and wondering where you can get a pic like that for your very own to LOOK AT ALL DAY LONG and excite your users as they log on to your system? Look no further. Through the magical miracle known as Canada Post, you can reap your own rewards of having such an ansi. It's quite simple, requiring no effort on your part other than getting some cash, shoving it in an envelope, and mailing it to the correct address. Prices are as follows, a minimum fee of $15 U.S. funds (or $20 canadian funds) will get you a minimum piccy of 150 lines, not including font. Unless otherwise specified, it'll be a bitch pic prolly, or whatever i feel like drawing at the moment. The more cash involved, the sooner i'll finish, the better the ansi'll be, and the longer it'll be too. Just send cash to the following address. Please include a piece of paper with the board stats (name, number, staff, sites, etc). If you have any specific ideas that you would like expressed in the ansi, please mention these too. Please include a return address. If you would like to send a check or money order, get in contact with me via board or internet so I can give you my real name. (it's nice when i can actually cash it :). Address: Jason P. Board : Flatlined Reality P.O. Box 215 613-824-7375 Orleans, Ontario K1C 1S7 Internet: ap444@freenet. carleton. ca CANADA When applying to the board, please specify in your letter to the sysop that you are getting the info for a paid request, and include a voice phone number with name where I can reach you. Please note that the internet account is not in my name, so don't bother sending checks to Jason Pearson. As long as I get paid upfront, I will draw the ansi regardless of any hostilities or biases I may hold towards you. PD boards welcome. Don't bother sending mail bombs, the p.o. box is small, and good postal workers are hard to come by.
