OCR: RiBAL WRITES The TRIBE Newsletter - Volume #1 / Issue #12 - May & June 1994 Welcome to the FINAL installment of TRiBAL WRiTES. It TRiBE's 12th pack, but only "our" second, and as part of the change, TW is going bye-bye. It's been "fun", but this is the past, and "There's no time like the present ... " to start thinking about the future. What is the future? Go back to the past, for a blast, Paradigm Returns to revolutionize what it revolutionized the first time! Starting THIS Archive, and each following Archive you'll be hearing all the poop in TRiBAL INSTINCTS directly from Cavalier. To deal with it upfront, NO, TRiBE did not delay it's pack, it CHANGED the release date. The 10th simply was not a good time of the month for me. So after polling the membership with the choice of either going out with one on the 10th, and another only 20 days later on the 1st, everyone perfered simply moving the date here and now. However, unlike SOME groups, we fully point out that the material in this Archive was done over a period of aproximately 50 days, nearly two months, and accurately shows it, with nearly two pieces from every member. The entire episodes was my fault for being GAY and moving the release date in the first place. We were going to put out a TRIBE-25.ZIP : IMAGES of the Future type pack, but with the absolute moronic lamers that happen to hang out on #ANSi these days, we felt they'd be too confused by it and run off looking for the other dozzen archives . Yes, the rumors are true! Following the ever popular trend, I have now officially changed my handle! I am now (a top secret Symbol)! When you write it or say it, it's "The artist formerly known as Shihear Kallizad" (or TafkaSk for the lazy or macro impaired). Welcome Prime Evil and Chaos Breed into our TRiBE, VGA and RIP artists respectively. Pevil is also known as The Greet Master, so get used to it. Chaos Breed is best known for hooking SiDS up with his favorite phrase, Laid Her. Both seem to be fitting right in here in the land of TeePee's and Payote. Yes, those are ASCii's by Piromaniac who is also new in TRiBE. Look for more ASCii's, ANSi's and other surprises from Mr. Versitality himself. Speaking of Payote, CyberChrist, the Ex-SWaT-Master, not the ANSi doodler, joins Cavalier this month as "Shaman's". That's Staff to you. They've left thier previous situation to blaze some new trials in TRiBAL Country. I'm still the lord high god of all things TRiBAL, but they are here to take the load off this old dog as we move ever forward. Wish Quazar and Asriel a happy Summer vacation! Q2r's off in Florida with no computer until August. ASr's off in Seattle playing at System Administrator for a couple months. Both are officially on hiatus and you shouldn't expect to see anything from them until thier return, at which time we'll force them to do twice as much while we sit back and watch. It's *BIN* two months since NaTiON was formed by TRiBE Members. Maestro Steve and Mistif Sinister not only activly conspired to take the members that they wanted with them, they took our idea, . BIN support. Since it was and *IS* TRIBE's intent to do for and support . BIN as ACiD has done for and supported .RIP, this is not a problem. In fact, thier embrace of OUR idea, like that of so many that were a part of the old TRiBE, only goes to show, WHERE they're AT in the present, is OUR past! We NOW are th future, and the new release of TV only goes to PROVE it. Maestro, who didn't know a .BIN from his FAT HEAD until I told him what it was, where it was, and how to use it, has tried to "one up" us by putting out . BIN first. All you have to do is look at his . BIN, a 80x50 picture on one half, and a little font on the other 80x50 half, to see he really has no grasp of the full potential of .BIN? Yes guys, this is the "revolutionize ANSi like ANSiM's VGA mode did" thing. Unlike the 160x50 only version of .BIN support they tried to do, the idea was to support unlimited length ANSi's in .BIN format. My work to get . BIN support predates TRiBE, ask anyone. Rad Man, for one, can attest to is, as he and Tazmaniac have adapted SAUCE, * ACiD*'s standard format to accomidate OUR future needs. So a BIG HOW-DEE to NaTiON for following OUR lead and being the first to support .BIN, albiet in the half assed manner they did. Check out the new TV. DOX for further information on .BIN and what else is up with TV. One final word on NaTiON this month: For those of you who said that NaTiON was completely different than TRiBE, take a look at thier membership. Out of their 21 artists, 10 were TRiBE Members at one point in time (half), and of those 10, 6 were TRiBE the same month that TRiBE disbanded and was recreated (half again). Throw in NaTiON's philosiphy "Now what is Nation? Nation is just a bunch of guys that want to work together and produce montly compliations of artwork. And of course, have lots of fun doing it. That's as simple as it gets kiddies. We're not claiming to be anything that we're not and we don't care what you have to say about us. We are having alot of fun an that's what it's all about." sounds EXACTLY like TRiBE's old philosiphy, and what you have in NaTiON is a carbon copy of the group that died with TRIBE-10.ZIP? For a group " ... not claiming to be anything that we're not ... ", they sure have done alot to say that they're not what they are, "old school TRiBE." (Shudder, yes, I know, I was the ASS he is now. I'm sorry, really. I just had to breifly point this most glaring comparason out. I wish that I had never said, things like "TRiBE's about fun!", "We're a loose orginiazation of individual who release art under the TRiBE label.", or "We don't compete so we don't care what you think of us." because it means I was just like - HIM? Then again, I'm sure he and the ANTi-TafkaSk cronies of his will sleep sound tonight realizing that he's just like - ME! In sofar as TRiBE/NaTiON goes, this one bit 'o text says everything you could ever want to know. ) That's it, ladies and gentlemen. The final TRiBAL WRiTES. Instead of a bunch of greets (Prime Evil!) that nobody cares to read, and fewer people ever understand, I'm gonna clip out bits from all of the other TRIBAL WRiTES as a farewell. The artist formerly known as Shihear Kallizad. [ TRiBELCHUNG ?w/thebiggestballzofallz] TRIBAL WRITES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Issue One / Volumne One - July 1993 Welcome to the first issue of TRiBE's own newsletter, TRiBAL WRiTES! We hope to bring this to you atleast once a month (probably in The Archive) where we can keep you up to date on all the TRIBE News and Information that you may not be getting elsewhere. (WHAT! You don't carry ToxiCNet yet ?! ) TRIBAL WRITES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Issue Two / Volumne One - August '93 TRiBE would like to make it known that WE are the "one-man-show" that The Untimed "refuses to acknowldge". We'd also like to point out that it's not a fair statement; there are more of us in TRiBE than Dreamevil! (Not to mention that it's that kind of closed mindedness that has iCE living in a dream world where ". . now they're (ACiD) just a breeding grounds for iCE .. " and "Quality is better than most. iCE Quality is 'the best'.") TRIBAL WRITES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Volume One / Issue Three - September 93 Greets : Due to greetusover loadus in the scene recently, in large due to Cavalier doing 14k worth of them, (now, there's a neat thing ... Cavalier, ever the follower, followed Mitch right out of the scene) we're unable to sit here and type out a bunch of them. Take a big "yellow" or a "bite me" as you deserve and lets all move on with our lives. See yah, wouldn't wanna be yah. . TRIBAL WRiTES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Volumn #1 / 1 Issue #4 - October 1993 Speaking of Memberships and people coming and going, it should be common knowledge to anyone who knows anything about TRiBE, that we don't recurit. In fact, we've always said, "Nah, don't go talk to him, he's in [Group]." from day one. With Eternal Lies' (Don't you just love irony?) recruitment of Glenn Danzig on the behalf of ACiD, it is no longer "A bad thing ... " to activly recruit ACiD Artists into TRiBE. All members of TRiBE should feel free to take any oppertunity to hound any ACiD Artist into joining TRiBE. Of course, EL's news that TRiBE has Disbanded should hit you all very hard, not to mention making the recruitment of ACiD Artists moot, don't you think? Then again, since RaD Man has joined TRiBE, thus giving us ACiD's greatest Artist ever, you never know. TRIBAL WRITES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Volumn #1 / Issue #5 - November 1993 Quazar finally found some time to write something in this months TRiBAL WRiTES? Basically, all he wanted to say was simply that he is only takin ANSi requests for "larger" systems. TRIBAL WRITES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Volumn #1 / Issue #6 - December 1993 Special Kudos to Quazar who held things together and got the Archive out last month. Good job 'Z, and a tip'o'th'at to Cardiac Arrest as he departs. He joined telling us up front he was just doing a couple of ANSis and retiring. 'Tas. Quazar's been out of town for the past few weeks, but he'll be returning to 404 about the same time this is released. TRIBAL WRiTES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Volumn #1 / Issue #7 - January 1994 First pack of the new year, and we're still doing the corney newsletter, corney name and extra corney logo included, no extra charge. (Glare) Can't be that bad, seeing as how you like it enough to rip it off, eh. (You know who you are. . . But, then again, I sure as hell don't. . . ) TRIBAL WRITES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Volumn #1 / Issue #8 - Feburary 1994 Told you it would be short. . . TRIBAL WRITES - The TRIBE Newsletter - Volumn #1 / Issue #9 - March 1994 Would one of you kind people out there in TRiBE Land, please, please, do a new TRiBAL WRiTES logo. Mr. Man did this before he "got'z" his "skill'z" and I've long since ran out of color combinations. (Hey Joe, kill your bro yet?)
