OCR: Forged Reality An empty void, a lack of air, A null in outer space No glinting starlight filtered there, T'was a cold and barren place An eyeless gaze was cast, one day, Upon this unfilled locus Creating something here, to stay, Would be the gazer's focus. The gazer's thoughts, with force of mind Were forced into existance. The space was closed, new stars aligned, And Nox ceased her persistance. To start, the godly rules dictated, One must have a golden sun. A gleaming globe, to stars related, Appeared as thought and form were one. Permeation of the sphere By sunlight's golden rays, Began the counting, measured here, Of countless nights and days. Yet with a sun, there was no land, The task was far from done, Though lit, the system was unmanned, A challenge that must yet be won. But first began the placing Of the nebulae celestial. And plans were rushed, were racing For the premier orb terrestrial. No thoughts would make this masterpiece Of sculpture geographic, All lower work was stopped, was ceased, By orders telepathic. With loving hands, the land took shape With mountains, coast and seas, Yet there was no life, the spark escaped, No whales, birds, or trees. Spirits renewed, the God again Went forth with godlike constitution. The secret was revealed, and then The spark was lost in evolution. Hordes of creatures filled the seas, As small as grains of sand. Yet despite the godling's desperate pleas The beings wouldn't touch the land. For aeons such, the creatures grew and sprouted fins and gills. Yet nothing walked, or crawled, or flew, The mindless fauna had no wills. The time went on, the land changed form, The water level fell. The climate changed, the waters warmed, The creatures fled their boiling hell. The animals developped legs And skin and lungs and cunning . And baby ones would hatch from eggs, With on rocks their parents sunning . And finally, one fateful morn, A different child had been born. This one had differed speed and form, His skin had fur, his blood was warm. The god could sleep, his work was done, the road to sentience had began. But past his wildest dreams, bar none, Would he forsee his children: Man. TH U LU! "Why choose the LESSER of two evils ?? " (c) iMPERiAL '94
