GRiMViEW is was programmed by Ffejtable?. Every bit of coding with the
exception of the MOD routines were done by him. You may stumble across
a bug or three in the program and the author asks you to please notify
him of any problems you encounter by reaching him at his BBS listed below
or via GRiMNet. The coding is awefully messy, and needs to be cleaned up,
so expect to see a new version in the next pack, with additional features
and/or bug fixes. Enjoy the program, and let me know what you think.
- Feautues
o Command line options!
/NOMOD (force MOD playing ability off)
/NOFADE (force fading off)
o Fade in/out
o View ANSIs in 80x25, 80x50, 320x200 and 320x200wide modes
o Scrollback in 80x25 and 80x50 modes.
o SAUCE Support for file information
o Greyscaling
o MOD support for users in a NON-Desqview environment.
o Maximum number of files limitied only by the amount of memory you have.
o User Selectable File Mask (default upon loading is *.ANS)
o File listing is sorted in alphabetical order
o File listing contains a list of directories to allow easy directory
changing.
o 32 Color Support (This was added last minute to the 320x200mode)
- Known problems
o Scrollback on an ANSI longer than 400 lines will more than likely
go haywire on you.
o Scrollback occasionally flips out, and allows you to scroll past the
beginning/end of an ANSi.
o The last entry when selecting files is a "blank". This was to "fix"
a bug in my sorting routine. This will eventually be corrected.
o I believe that the PGUP/PGDN keys sometimes screw up. I know they
used to, I forget if I fixed it. The problem was rare, and I
havent been able to duplicate it.
- Future Modifications
o More Command Line Options
o ICEColor support, when a) I figure out what the fuck it is and b) specs
on the damn thing. If it turns out to be lame, I wont bother. :)
o 32 Color Support (This was added last minute to the 320x200mode, it didnt
look very good in 320x200wide mode)
o VESA Support for more video modes.
o Scrollback in all video modes.
o Different display speeds (ie: 300,1200,2400,9600,14400 bauds)
o Better MOD playing capability
o GIF and PCX support
The MOD playing routines in this program were written by Mark Cox. Although
the routines work, they apparently do not work under Desqview, and cause the
computer to lock up which is why I wont let Desqview users play them. I would
love to get my hands on some better routines... If you know of any, please let
me know. I believe the author of DMP has routines available.
