  5. Oblivious to the sweeping hands of time,
  6. Still the miser Fates watch o'er,
  7. And sleepless Destiny wields its sword.

  9. Thy field is white, the grain hast grown,
  10. Unyielding Time hast overshone,
  11. The sickle thrust into the field,
  12. The sweeping arm which shall not yield.
  13.  
  14. While through the chaff the reaper sifts,
  15. Weighed in scales and found bereft,
  16. The Harvest Moon like times before,
  17. Pale and coolly shadows o'er.
