DEX-i-cal v5.35 Franklin Service Systems REGISTRATION $39.00
UTILITY DESK APPOINTMENTS FRANKLIN
DEX-i-cal was origianlly designed to be useful for the
person who is not computer smart. It began as a simple
rolodex, utilizing a screen design that does not intrude
upon the user's need to extract or enter information. It's
layout is much like one would see on any filecard, making it
very user friendly.
The capabilities of the program expanded even as it kept its
simple format. The original telephone rolodex idea became a
telephone dialer as well, a straightforward memo file was
added that does not abuse memory and a number of calendar
utilities were added as well.
DEX-i-cal is not flashy. It is not weighted down by myriads
of utilities that would not be useful to the average user.
It aims to present screens that are easily understood by all
and does not detract from the work at hand.
An interactive Tutorial is offered as part of the program.
The user is walked through the program, step by step and
screen by screen. It should take about a half an hour to go
through through the tutorial. Those who have a good deal of
experience with computers might understand the program even
without the Tutorial.
Now some of the drawbacks.
The Tutorial was written for version 4.07....never released.
I have spent my time upgrading the program, and have more
immediate upgrades in mind before going back to bring the
tutorial up to date. Upgrading is non-ending.
Actually this is the first public release of DEX-i-cal. The
notion of waiting for the perfect conclusion is flawed,
obviously. There is no conclusion, much less perfection.
This is the full program, as of now, but your use is limited
to 50 filecards, (150 phone numbers) and while you can keep
reinstalling the program, each installation is good for 6
months.
There is more information in the README.1st file withing the
program. Give it a shot. If you like it, become a
registered user and pass it on. All the information is in
the program.
Enjoy!
