  6.           Purpose:  Facilitates copying, deleting, protecting, or
  7.                     unprotecting selected files in a directory.
  8.  
  9.           Format:   DIREX [d:][filespec]
  10.  
  11.           Remarks:  DIREX displays up to 121 filenames on screen;
  12.                     the ? and * "wildcards" can be used to
  13.                     restrict the number of displayed entries.
  14.                     The cursor arrow keys are used to move a
  15.                     reverse-video highlight bar from one filename
  16.                     to another.  When a filename is highlighted
  17.                     it can be selected for further treatment by
  18.                     pressing the spacebar.  (A mistakenly marked
  19.                     file can be deselected by pressing the
  20.                     spacebar a second time.)

  22.                     Single-letter commands implement any one of
  23.                     the following actions on any marked files:

  25.                     C  Copy (you are prompted for a new path)
  26.                     D  Delete
  27.                     P  Protect (makes read-only)
  28.                     U  Unprotect (makes read-write)
  29.  
  30.                     N  Change to a new directory
  31.                     Q  Quit

  35.                     1.   In handling very large subdirectories,
  36.                          the NO.COM utility (1986 No. 9, and
  37.                          contained on PC Utilities Disk 1) can
  38.                          also be used in conjunction with DIREX
  39.                          to inhibit display of one or more groups
  40.                          of filenames.
