  24. Girgashite,
  25. I CHRONICLES 1:15 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
  26. I CHRONICLES 1:16 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the
  27. Hamathite.
  28. I CHRONICLES 1:17 The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and
  29. Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and
  30. Meshech.
  31. I CHRONICLES 1:18 And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat
  32. Eber.
  33. I CHRONICLES 1:19 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of
  34. the one {was} Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided:
  35. and his brother's name {was} Joktan.
  36. I CHRONICLES 1:20 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and
  37. Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
  38. I CHRONICLES 1:21 Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah,

  68. I CHRONICLES 1:39 And the sons of Lotan; Hori, and Homam: and
  69. Timna {was} Lotan's sister.
  70. I CHRONICLES 1:40 The sons of Shobal; Alian, and Manahath, and
  71. Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon; Aiah, and Anah.

  76. I CHRONICLES 1:43 Now these {are} the kings that reigned in the
  77. land of Edom before {any} king reigned over the children of
  78. Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city {was}
  79. Dinhabah.
  80. I CHRONICLES 1:44 And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah
  81. of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
  82. I CHRONICLES 1:45 And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of
  83. the Temanites reigned in his stead.
  84. I CHRONICLES 1:46 And when Husham was dead, Hadad the son of
  85. Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his
  86. stead: and the name of his city {was} Avith.
  87. I CHRONICLES 1:47 And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah
  88. reigned in his stead.
  89. I CHRONICLES 1:48 And when Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by
  90. the river reigned in his stead.
  91. I CHRONICLES 1:49 And when Shaul was dead, Baalhanan the son of
  92. Achbor reigned in his stead.
  93. I CHRONICLES 1:50 And when Baalhanan was dead, Hadad reigned in
  94. his stead: and the name of his city {was} Pai; and his wife's
  95. name {was} Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of
  96. Mezahab.
  97. I CHRONICLES 1:51 Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were;
  98. duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth,
  99. I CHRONICLES 1:52 Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,
  100. I CHRONICLES 1:53 Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,

  102. of Edom.

  104. Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun,
  105. I CHRONICLES 2:2 Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and
  106. Asher.
  107. I CHRONICLES 2:3 The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah:
  108. {which} three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the
  109. Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the
  110. sight of the Lord; and he slew him.

  117. Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.

  120. him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.
  121. I CHRONICLES 2:10 And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat
  122. Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;
  123. I CHRONICLES 2:11 And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz,
  124. I CHRONICLES 2:12 And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,
  125. I CHRONICLES 2:13 And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and
  126. Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third,
  127. I CHRONICLES 2:14 Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,
  128. I CHRONICLES 2:15 Ozem the sixth, David the seventh:
  129. I CHRONICLES 2:16 Whose sisters {were} Zeruiah, and Abigail. And
  130. the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three.
  131. I CHRONICLES 2:17 And Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa
  132. {was} Jether the Ishmeelite.
  133. I CHRONICLES 2:18 And Caleb the son of Hezron begat {children} of
  134. Azubah {his} wife, and of Jerioth: her sons {are} these; Jesher,
  135. and Shobab, and Ardon.
  136. I CHRONICLES 2:19 And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him
  137. Ephrath, which bare him Hur.
  138. I CHRONICLES 2:20 And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.
  139. I CHRONICLES 2:21 And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of
  140. Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he {was}
  141. threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.
  142. I CHRONICLES 2:22 And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty
  143. cities in the land of Gilead.
  144. I CHRONICLES 2:23 And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of
  145. Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, {even}
  146. threescore cities. All these {belonged to} the sons of Machir the
  147. father of Gilead.
  148. I CHRONICLES 2:24 And after that Hezron was dead in
  149. Calebephratah, then Abiah Hezron's wife bare him Ashur the father
  150. of Tekoa.
  151. I CHRONICLES 2:25 And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of
  152. Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem,
  153. {and} Ahijah.
  154. I CHRONICLES 2:26 Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name
  155. {was} Atarah; she {was} the mother of Onam.
  156. I CHRONICLES 2:27 And the sons of ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel
  157. were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.
  158. I CHRONICLES 2:28 And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada.
  159. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab and Abishur.
  160. I CHRONICLES 2:29 And the name of the wife of Abishur {was}
  161. Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.
  162. I CHRONICLES 2:30 And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but
  163. Seled died without children.
  164. I CHRONICLES 2:31 And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of
  165. Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai.
  166. I CHRONICLES 2:32 And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai;
  167. Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.
  168. I CHRONICLES 2:33 And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza.
  169. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
  170. I CHRONICLES 2:34 Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And
  171. Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name {was} Jarha.
  172. I CHRONICLES 2:35 And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his
  173. servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.
  174. I CHRONICLES 2:36 And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad,
  175. I CHRONICLES 2:37 And Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,
  176. I CHRONICLES 2:38 And Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah,
  177. I CHRONICLES 2:39 And Azariah begat Helez, and Helez begat
  178. Eleasah,
  179. I CHRONICLES 2:40 And Eleasah begat Sisamai, and Sisamai begat
  180. Shallum,
  181. I CHRONICLES 2:41 And Shallum begat Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begat
  182. Elishama.
  183. I CHRONICLES 2:42 Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel
  184. {were}, Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and
  185. the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.
  186. I CHRONICLES 2:43 And the sons of Hebron; Korah, and Tappuah, and
  187. Rekem, and Shema.
  188. I CHRONICLES 2:44 And Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam:
  189. and Rekem begat Shammai.
  190. I CHRONICLES 2:45 And the son of Shammai {was} Maon: and Maon
  191. {was} the father of Bethzur.
  192. I CHRONICLES 2:46 And Ephah, Caleb's concubine, bare Haran, and
  193. Moza, and Gazez: and Haran begat Gazez.
  194. I CHRONICLES 2:47 And the sons of Jahdai; Regem, and Jotham, and
  195. Gesham, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.
  196. I CHRONICLES 2:48 Maachah, Caleb's concubine, bare Sheber, and
  197. Tirhanah.
  198. I CHRONICLES 2:49 She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah,
  199. Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the
  200. daughter of Caleb {was} Achsah.

  202. the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim.
  203. I CHRONICLES 2:51 Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the
  204. father of Bethgader.
  205. I CHRONICLES 2:52 And Shobal the father of Kirjathjearim had
  206. sons; Haroeh, {and} half of the Manahethites.
  207. I CHRONICLES 2:53 And the families of Kirjathjearim; the
  208. Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the
  209. Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites,
  210. I CHRONICLES 2:54 The sons of Salma; Bethlehem, and the
  211. Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the
  212. Manahethites, the Zorites.
  213. I CHRONICLES 2:55 And the families of the scribes which dwelt at
  214. Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, {and} Suchathites. These
  215. {are} the Kenites that came of Hammath, the father of the house
  216. of Rechab.
  217. I CHRONICLES 3:1 Now these were the sons of David, which were
  218. born unto him in Hebron; the firstborn Amnon, of Ahinoam the
  219. Jezreelitess; the second Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess:
  220. I CHRONICLES 3:2 The third, Absalom the son of Maachah the
  221. daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adonijah the son
  222. of Haggith:
  223. I CHRONICLES 3:3 The fifth, Shephatiah of Abital: the sixth,
  224. Ithream by Eglah his wife.
  225. I CHRONICLES 3:4 {These} six were born unto him in Hebron; and
  226. there he reigned seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he
  227. reigned thirty and three years.

  255. Shelomith their sister:
  256. I CHRONICLES 3:20 And Hashubah, and Ohel, and Berechiah, and
  257. Hasadiah, Jushabhesed, five.
  258. I CHRONICLES 3:21 And the sons of Hananiah; Pelatiah, and
  259. Jesaiah: the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of
  260. Obadiah, the sons of Shechaniah.
  261. I CHRONICLES 3:22 And the sons of Shechaniah; Shemaiah: and the
  262. sons of Shemaiah; Hattush, and Igeal, and Bariah, and Neariah,
  263. and Shaphat, six.
  264. I CHRONICLES 3:23 And the sons of Neariah; Elioenai, and
  265. Hezekiah, and Azrikam, three.
  266. I CHRONICLES 3:24 And the sons of Elioenai {were}, Hodaiah, and
  267. Eliashib, and Pelaiah, and Akkub, and Johanan, and Dalaiah, and
  268. Anani, seven.
  269. I CHRONICLES 4:1 The sons of Judah; Pharez, Hezron, and Carmi,
  270. and Hur, and Shobal.
  271. I CHRONICLES 4:2 And Reaiah the son of Shobal begat Jahath; and
  272. Jahath begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These {are} the families of the
  273. Zorathites.
  274. I CHRONICLES 4:3 And these {were of} the father of Etam; Jezreel,
  275. and Ishma, and Idbash: and the name of their sister {was}
  276. Hazelelponi:
  277. I CHRONICLES 4:4 And Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the
  278. father of Hushah. These {are} the sons of Hur, the firstborn of
  279. Ephratah, the father of Bethlehem.
  280. I CHRONICLES 4:5 And Ashur the father of Tekoa had two wives,
  281. Helah and Naarah.
  282. I CHRONICLES 4:6 And Naarah bare him Ahuzam, and Hepher, and
  283. Temeni, and Haahashtari. These {were} the sons of Naarah.
  284. I CHRONICLES 4:7 And the sons of Helah {were}, Zereth, and
  285. Jezoar, and Ethnan.
  286. I CHRONICLES 4:8 And Coz begat Anub, and Zobebah, and the
  287. families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
  288. I CHRONICLES 4:9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren:
  289. and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him
  290. with sorrow.
  291. I CHRONICLES 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,
  292. Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and
  293. that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep
  294. {me} from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him
  295. that which he requested.
  296. I CHRONICLES 4:11 And Chelub the brother of Shuah begat Mehir,
  297. which {was} the father of Eshton.
  298. I CHRONICLES 4:12 And Eshton begat Bethrapha, and Paseah, and
  299. Tehinnah the father of Irnahash. These {are} the men of Rechah.
  300. I CHRONICLES 4:13 And the sons of Kenaz; Othniel, and Seraiah:
  301. and the sons of Othniel; Hathath.
  302. I CHRONICLES 4:14 And Meonothai begat Ophrah: and Seraiah begat
  303. Joab, the father of the valley of Charashim; for they were
  304. craftsmen.
  305. I CHRONICLES 4:15 And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh;
  306. Iru, Elah, and Naam: and the sons of Elah, even Kenaz.
  307. I CHRONICLES 4:16 And the sons of Jehaleleel; Ziph, and Ziphah,
  308. Tiria, and Asareel.
  309. I CHRONICLES 4:17 And the sons of Ezra {were}, Jether, and Mered,
  310. and Epher, and Jalon: and she bare Miriam, and Shammai, and
  311. Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
  312. I CHRONICLES 4:18 And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered the father of
  313. Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of
  314. Zanoah. And these {are} the sons of Bithiah the daughter of
  315. Pharaoh, which Mered took.
  316. I CHRONICLES 4:19 And the sons of {his} wife Hodiah the sister of
  317. Naham, the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the
  318. Maachathite.
  319. I CHRONICLES 4:20 And the sons of Shimon {were}, Amnon, and
  320. Rinnah, Benhanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi {were}, Zoheth,
  321. and Benzoheth.
  322. I CHRONICLES 4:21 The sons of Shelah the son of Judah {were}, Er
  323. the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the
  324. families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the
  325. house of Ashbea,
  326. I CHRONICLES 4:22 And Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash,
  327. and Saraph, who had the dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. And
  328. {these are} ancient things.
  329. I CHRONICLES 4:23 These {were} the potters, and those that dwelt
  330. among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his
  331. work.
  332. I CHRONICLES 4:24 The sons of Simeon {were}, Nemuel, and Jamin,
  333. Jarib, Zerah, {and} Shaul:
  334. I CHRONICLES 4:25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his
  335. son.
  336. I CHRONICLES 4:26 And the sons of Mishma; Hamuel his son, Zacchur
  337. his son, Shimei his son.
  338. I CHRONICLES 4:27 And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters:
  339. but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their
  340. family multiply, like to the children of Judah.
  341. I CHRONICLES 4:28 And they dwelt at Beersheba, and Moladah, and
  342. Hazarshual,
  343. I CHRONICLES 4:29 And at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,
  344. I CHRONICLES 4:30 And at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,
  345. I CHRONICLES 4:31 And at Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusim, and at
  346. Bethbirei, and at Shaaraim.  These {were} their cities unto the
  347. reign of David.
  348. I CHRONICLES 4:32 And their villages {were}, Etam, and Ain,
  349. Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities:
  350. I CHRONICLES 4:33 And all their villages that {were} round about
  351. the same cities, unto Baal.  These {were} their habitations, and
  352. their genealogy.
  353. I CHRONICLES 4:34 And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son
  354. of Amaziah,
  355. I CHRONICLES 4:35 And Joel, and Jehu the son of Josibiah, the son
  356. of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,
  357. I CHRONICLES 4:36 And Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and
  358. Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

  420. towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.

  422. days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of

  576. her suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa, with their suburbs,

  578. suburbs,
  579. I CHRONICLES 6:59 And Ashan with her suburbs, and Bethshemesh
  580. with her suburbs:
  581. I CHRONICLES 6:60 And out of the tribe of Benjamin; Geba with her
  582. suburbs, and Alemeth with her suburbs, and Anathoth with her
  583. suburbs. All their cities throughout their families {were}
  584. thirteen cities.
  585. I CHRONICLES 6:61 And unto the sons of Kohath, {which were} left
  586. of the family of that tribe, {were cities given} out of the half
  587. tribe, {namely, out of} the half {tribe} of Manasseh, by lot, ten
  588. cities.
  589. I CHRONICLES 6:62 And to the sons of Gershom throughout their
  590. families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of
  591. Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of
  592. Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
  593. I CHRONICLES 6:63 Unto the sons of Merari {were given} by lot,
  594. throughout their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of
  595. the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

  597. {these} cities with their suburbs.

  674. and two hundred {soldiers}, fit to go out for war {and} battle.

  676. {and} Hushim, the sons of Aher.
  677. I CHRONICLES 7:13 The sons of Naphtali; Jahziel, and Guni, and

  679. I CHRONICLES 7:14 The sons of Manasseh; Ashriel, whom she bare:
  680. ({but} his concubine the Aramitess bare Machir the father of
  681. Gilead:
  682. I CHRONICLES 7:15 And Machir took to wife {the sister} of Huppim
  683. and Shuppim, whose sister's name {was} Maachah;) and the name of
  684. the second {was} Zelophehad: and Zelophehad had daughters.
  685. I CHRONICLES 7:16 And Maachah the wife of Machir bare a son, and
  686. she called his name Peresh; and the name of his brother {was}
  687. Sheresh; and his sons {were} Ulam and Rakem.
  688. I CHRONICLES 7:17 And the sons of Ulam; Bedan. These {were} the
  689. sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.
  690. I CHRONICLES 7:18 And his sister Hammoleketh bare Ishod, and
  691. Abiezer, and Mahalah.
  692. I CHRONICLES 7:19 And the sons of Shemida were, Ahian, and
  693. Shechem, and Likhi, and Aniam.
  694. I CHRONICLES 7:20 And the sons of Ephraim; Shuthelah, and Bered
  695. his son, and Tahath his son, and Eladah his son, and Tahath his

  698. Ezer, and Elead, whom the men of Gath {that were} born in {that}
  699. land slew, because they came down to take away their cattle.

  751. I CHRONICLES 8:5 And Gera, and Shephuphan, and Huram.
  752. I CHRONICLES 8:6 And these {are} the sons of Ehud: these are the
  753. heads of the fathers of the inhabitants of Geba, and they removed
  754. them to Manahath:
  755. I CHRONICLES 8:7 And Naaman, and Ahiah, and Gera, he removed
  756. them, and begat Uzza, and Ahihud.
  757. I CHRONICLES 8:8 And Shaharaim begat {children} in the country of
  758. Moab, after he had sent them away; Hushim and Baara {were} his
  759. wives.
  760. I CHRONICLES 8:9 And he begat of Hodesh his wife, Jobab, and
  761. Zibia, and Mesha, and Malcham,
  762. I CHRONICLES 8:10 And Jeuz, and Shachia, and Mirma. These {were}
  763. his sons, heads of the fathers.
  764. I CHRONICLES 8:11 And of Hushim he begat Abitub, and Elpaal.
  765. I CHRONICLES 8:12 The sons of Elpaal; Eber, and Misham, and
  766. Shamed, who built Ono, and Lod, with the towns thereof:
  767. I CHRONICLES 8:13 Beriah also, and Shema, who {were} heads of the
  768. fathers of the inhabitants of Aijalon, who drove away the
  769. inhabitants of Gath:

  789. I CHRONICLES 8:28 These {were} heads of the fathers, by their
  790. generations, chief {men}.  These dwelt in Jerusalem.
  791. I CHRONICLES 8:29 And at Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon; whose
  792. wife's name {was} Maachah:
  793. I CHRONICLES 8:30 And his firstborn son Abdon, and Zur, and Kish,
  794. and Baal, and Nadab,
  795. I CHRONICLES 8:31 And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zacher.
  796. I CHRONICLES 8:32 And Mikloth begat Shimeah. And these also dwelt
  797. with their brethren in Jerusalem, over against them.
  798. I CHRONICLES 8:33 And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and
  799. Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
  800. I CHRONICLES 8:34 And the son of Jonathan {was} Meribbaal; and
  801. Meribbaal begat Micah.
  802. I CHRONICLES 8:35 And the sons of Micah {were}, Pithon, and
  803. Melech, and Tarea, and Ahaz.
  804. I CHRONICLES 8:36 And Ahaz begat Jehoadah; and Jehoadah begat
  805. Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza,
  806. I CHRONICLES 8:37 And Moza begat Binea: Rapha {was} his son,
  807. Eleasah his son, Azel his son:
  808. I CHRONICLES 8:38 And Azel had six sons, whose names {are} these,
  809. Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and
  810. Hanan. All these {were} the sons of Azel.
  811. I CHRONICLES 8:39 And the sons of Eshek his brother {were}, Ulam
  812. his firstborn, Jehush the second, and Eliphelet the third.
  813. I CHRONICLES 8:40 And the sons of Ulam were mighty men of valour,
  814. archers, and had many sons, and sons' sons, an hundred and fifty.
  815. All these {are} the sons of Benjamin.
  816. I CHRONICLES 9:1 So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and,
  817. behold, they {were} written in the book of the kings of Israel
  818. and Judah, {who} were carried away to Babylon for their
  819. transgression.
  820. I CHRONICLES 9:2 Now the first inhabitants that {dwelt} in their
  821. possessions in their cities {were}, the Israelites, the priests,
  822. Levites, and the Nethinims.
  823. I CHRONICLES 9:3 And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah,
  824. and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim,
  825. and Manasseh;
  826. I CHRONICLES 9:4 Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the
  827. son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pharez the son
  828. of Judah.
  829. I CHRONICLES 9:5 And of the Shilonites; Asaiah the firstborn, and
  830. his sons.
  831. I CHRONICLES 9:6 And of the sons of Zerah; Jeuel, and their
  832. brethren, six hundred and ninety.
  833. I CHRONICLES 9:7 And of the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of
  834. Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hasenuah,
  835. I CHRONICLES 9:8 And Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son
  836. of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephathiah,
  837. the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
  838. I CHRONICLES 9:9 And their brethren, according to their
  839. generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men {were}
  840. chief of the fathers in the house of their fathers.
  841. I CHRONICLES 9:10 And of the priests; Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and
  842. Jachin,
  843. I CHRONICLES 9:11 And Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of
  844. Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of
  845. Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;

  847. Pashur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasiai the son of Adiel, the
  848. son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith,
  849. the son of Immer;
  850. I CHRONICLES 9:13 And their brethren, heads of the house of their
  851. fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; Very able
  852. men for the work of the service of the house of God.
  853. I CHRONICLES 9:14 And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of
  854. Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of
  855. Merari;
  856. I CHRONICLES 9:15 And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah
  857. the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;
  858. I CHRONICLES 9:16 And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of
  859. Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son
  860. of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
  861. I CHRONICLES 9:17 And the porters {were}, Shallum, and Akkub, and
  862. Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum {was} the chief;
  863. I CHRONICLES 9:18 Who hitherto {waited} in the king's gate
  864. eastward: they {were} porters in the companies of the children of
  865. Levi.
  866. I CHRONICLES 9:19 And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of
  867. Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his
  868. father, the Korahites, {were} over the work of the service,
  869. keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers,
  870. {being} over the host of the Lord, {were} keepers of the entry.
  871. I CHRONICLES 9:20 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler
  872. over them in time past, {and} the Lord {was} with him.
  873. I CHRONICLES 9:21 {And} Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah {was}
  874. porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
  875. I CHRONICLES 9:22 All these {which were} chosen to be porters in
  876. the gates {were} two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by
  877. their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer
  878. did ordain in their set office.
  879. I CHRONICLES 9:23 So they and their children {had} the oversight
  880. of the gates of the house of the Lord, {namely}, the house of the
  881. tabernacle, by wards.
  882. I CHRONICLES 9:24 In four quarters were the porters, toward the
  883. east, west, north, and south.
  884. I CHRONICLES 9:25 And their brethren, {which were} in their
  885. villages, {were} to come after seven days from time to time with
  886. them.
  887. I CHRONICLES 9:26 For these Levites, the four chief porters, were
  888. in {their} set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries
  889. of the house of God.
  890. I CHRONICLES 9:27 And they lodged round about the house of God,
  891. because the charge {was} upon them, and the opening thereof every
  892. morning {pertained} to them.
  893. I CHRONICLES 9:28 And {certain} of them had the charge of the
  894. ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by
  895. tale.
  896. I CHRONICLES 9:29 {Some} of them also {were} appointed to oversee
  897. the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the
  898. fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and
  899. the spices.
  900. I CHRONICLES 9:30 And {some} of the sons of the priests made the
  901. ointment of the spices.
  902. I CHRONICLES 9:31 And Mattithiah, {one} of the Levites, who {was}
  903. the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over
  904. the things that were made in the pans.
  905. I CHRONICLES 9:32 And {other} of their brethren, of the sons of
  906. the Kohathites, {were} over the shewbread, to prepare {it} every
  907. sabbath.
  908. I CHRONICLES 9:33 And these {are} the singers, chief of the
  909. fathers of the Levites, {who remaining} in the chambers {were}
  910. free: for they were employed in {that} work day and night.
  911. I CHRONICLES 9:34 These chief fathers of the Levites {were} chief
  912. throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.
  913. I CHRONICLES 9:35 And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon,
  914. Jehiel, whose wife's name {was} Maachah:
  915. I CHRONICLES 9:36 And his firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, and
  916. Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab.
  917. I CHRONICLES 9:37 And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and

  919. I CHRONICLES 9:38 And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt
  920. with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.

  931. I CHRONICLES 9:44 And Azel had six sons, whose names {are} these,

  933. Hanan: these {were} the sons of Azel.
  934. I CHRONICLES 10:1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and
  935. the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down
  936. slain in mount Gilboa.
  937. I CHRONICLES 10:2 And the Philistines followed hard after Saul,
  938. and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and
  939. Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
  940. I CHRONICLES 10:3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the
  941. archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.
  942. I CHRONICLES 10:4 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy
  943. sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised
  944. come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was
  945. sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
  946. I CHRONICLES 10:5 And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was
  947. dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
  948. I CHRONICLES 10:6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his
  949. house died together.
  950. I CHRONICLES 10:7 And when all the men of Israel that {were} in
  951. the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were
  952. dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the
  953. Philistines came and dwelt in them.
  954. I CHRONICLES 10:8 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the
  955. Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his
  956. sons fallen in mount Gilboa.
  957. I CHRONICLES 10:9 And when they had stripped him, they took his
  958. head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines
  959. round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the
  960. people.
  961. I CHRONICLES 10:10 And they put his armour in the house of their
  962. gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.
  963. I CHRONICLES 10:11 And when all Jabeshgilead heard all that the
  964. Philistines had done to Saul,
  965. I CHRONICLES 10:12 They arose, all the valiant men, and took away
  966. the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to
  967. Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and
  968. fasted seven days.
  969. I CHRONICLES 10:13 So Saul died for his transgression which he
  970. committed against the Lord, {even} against the word of the Lord,
  971. which he kept not, and also for asking {counsel} of {one that
  972. had} a familiar spirit, to inquire {of it};
  973. I CHRONICLES 10:14 And inquired not of the Lord: therefore he
  974. slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.
  975. I CHRONICLES 11:1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David
  976. unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we {are} thy bone and thy flesh.
  977. I CHRONICLES 11:2 And moreover in time past, even when Saul was
  978. king, thou {wast} he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel:
  979. and the Lord thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people
  980. Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.
  981. I CHRONICLES 11:3 Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the
  982. king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron
  983. before the Lord; and they anointed David king over Israel,
  984. according to the word of the Lord by Samuel.
  985. I CHRONICLES 11:4 And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem,
  986. which {is} Jebus; where the Jebusites {were}, the inhabitants of
  987. the land.
  988. I CHRONICLES 11:5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David,
  989. Thou shalt not come hither.  Nevertheless David took the castle
  990. of Zion, which {is} the city of David.
  991. I CHRONICLES 11:6 And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites
  992. first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went
  993. first up, and was chief.
  994. I CHRONICLES 11:7 And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they
  995. called it the city of David.
  996. I CHRONICLES 11:8 And he built the city round about, even from
  997. Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
  998. I CHRONICLES 11:9 So David waxed greater and greater: for the
  999. Lord of hosts {was} with him.
  1000. I CHRONICLES 11:10 These also {are} the chief of the mighty men
  1001. whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his
  1002. kingdom, {and} with all Israel, to make him king, according to
  1003. the word of the Lord concerning Israel.
  1004. I CHRONICLES 11:11 And this {is} the number of the mighty men
  1005. whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the
  1006. captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain {by
  1007. him} at one time.
  1008. I CHRONICLES 11:12 And after him {was} Eleazar the son of Dodo,
  1009. the Ahohite, who {was one} of the three mighties.
  1010. I CHRONICLES 11:13 He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the
  1011. Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel
  1012. of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the
  1013. Philistines.
  1014. I CHRONICLES 11:14 And they set themselves in the midst of {that}
  1015. parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the Lord
  1016. saved {them} by a great deliverance.
  1017. I CHRONICLES 11:15 Now three of the thirty captains went down to
  1018. the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the
  1019. Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
  1020. I CHRONICLES 11:16 And David {was} then in the hold, and the
  1021. Philistines' garrison {was} then at Bethlehem.
  1022. I CHRONICLES 11:17 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would
  1023. give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that {is} at
  1024. the gate!
  1025. I CHRONICLES 11:18 And the three brake through the host of the
  1026. Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that
  1027. {was} by the gate, and took {it}, and {brought} it to David: but
  1028. David would not {drink} of it, but poured it out to the Lord.
  1029. I CHRONICLES 11:19 And said, My God forbid it me, that I should
  1030. do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put
  1031. their lives in jeopardy? for with {the jeopardy of} their lives
  1032. they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it.  These things
  1033. did these three mightiest.
  1034. I CHRONICLES 11:20 And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief
  1035. of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he
  1036. slew {them}, and had a name among the three.
  1037. I CHRONICLES 11:21 Of the three, he was more honourable than the
  1038. two; for he was their captain: howbeit he attained not to the
  1039. {first} three.
  1040. I CHRONICLES 11:22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a
  1041. valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two
  1042. lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit
  1043. in a snowy day.
  1044. I CHRONICLES 11:23 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of {great}
  1045. stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand {was} a
  1046. spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff,
  1047. and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him
  1048. with his own spear.
  1049. I CHRONICLES 11:24 These {things} did Benaiah the son of
  1050. Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighties.
  1051. I CHRONICLES 11:25 Behold, he was honourable among the thirty,
  1052. but attained not to the {first} three: and David set him over his
  1053. guard.
  1054. I CHRONICLES 11:26 Also the valiant men of the armies {were},
  1055. Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
  1056. I CHRONICLES 11:27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,

  1092. Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son
  1093. of Kish: and they {were} among the mighty men, helpers of the
  1094. war.
  1095. I CHRONICLES 12:2 {They were} armed with bows, and could use both
  1096. the right hand and the left in {hurling} stones and {shooting}
  1097. arrows out of a bow, {even} of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.
  1098. I CHRONICLES 12:3 The chief {was} Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons
  1099. of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of
  1100. Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite.
  1101. I CHRONICLES 12:4 And Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among
  1102. the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and
  1103. Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,

  1111. unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, {and}
  1112. men of war {fit} for the battle, that could handle shield and
  1113. buckler, whose faces {were like} the faces of lions, and {were}
  1114. as swift as the roes upon the mountains;
  1115. I CHRONICLES 12:9 Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the

  1122. the host: one of the least {was} over an hundred, and the
  1123. greatest over a thousand.
  1124. I CHRONICLES 12:15 These {are} they that went over Jordan in the
  1125. first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to
  1126. flight all {them} of the valleys, {both} toward the east, and
  1127. toward the west.
  1128. I CHRONICLES 12:16 And there came of the children of Benjamin and
  1129. Judah to the hold unto David.
  1130. I CHRONICLES 12:17 And David went out to meet them, and answered
  1131. and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me,
  1132. mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if {ye be come} to betray
  1133. me to mine enemies, seeing {there is} no wrong in mine hands, the
  1134. God of our fathers look {thereon}, and rebuke {it}.
  1135. I CHRONICLES 12:18 Then the spirit came upon Amasai, {who was}
  1136. chief of the captains, {and he said}, Thine {are we}, David, and
  1137. on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace {be} unto thee, and
  1138. peace {be} to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David
  1139. received them, and made them captains of the band.
  1140. I CHRONICLES 12:19 And there fell {some} of Manasseh to David,
  1141. when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but
  1142. they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon
  1143. advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul
  1144. to {the jeopardy of} our heads.
  1145. I CHRONICLES 12:20 As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of
  1146. Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and
  1147. Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that
  1148. {were} of Manasseh.
  1149. I CHRONICLES 12:21 And they helped David against the band {of the
  1150. rovers}: for they {were} all mighty men of valour, and were
  1151. captains in the host.
  1152. I CHRONICLES 12:22 For at {that} time day by day there came to
  1153. David to help him, until {it was} a great host, like the host of
  1154. God.
  1155. I CHRONICLES 12:23 And these {are} the numbers of the bands {that
  1156. were} ready armed to the war, {and} came to David to Hebron, to
  1157. turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the
  1158. Lord.
  1159. I CHRONICLES 12:24 The children of Judah that bare shield and
  1160. spear {were} six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the
  1161. war.
  1162. I CHRONICLES 12:25 Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of
  1163. valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
  1164. I CHRONICLES 12:26 Of the children of Levi four thousand and six
  1165. hundred.
  1166. I CHRONICLES 12:27 And Jehoiada {was} the leader of the
  1167. Aaronites, and with him {were} three thousand and seven hundred;
  1168. I CHRONICLES 12:28 And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and
  1169. of his father's house twenty and two captains.
  1170. I CHRONICLES 12:29 And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred
  1171. of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them
  1172. had kept the ward of the house of Saul.
  1173. I CHRONICLES 12:30 And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand
  1174. and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the
  1175. house of their fathers.
  1176. I CHRONICLES 12:31 And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen
  1177. thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David
  1178. king.
  1179. I CHRONICLES 12:32 And of the children of Issachar, {which were
  1180. men} that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel
  1181. ought to do; the heads of them {were} two hundred; and all their
  1182. brethren {were} at their commandment.
  1183. I CHRONICLES 12:33 Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle,
  1184. expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which
  1185. could keep rank: {they were} not of double heart.
  1186. I CHRONICLES 12:34 And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with
  1187. them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.
  1188. I CHRONICLES 12:35 And of the Danites expert in war twenty and
  1189. eight thousand and six hundred.
  1190. I CHRONICLES 12:36 And of Asher, such as went forth to battle,
  1191. expert in war, forty thousand.
  1192. I CHRONICLES 12:37 And on the other side of Jordan, of the
  1193. Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh,
  1194. with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred
  1195. and twenty thousand.
  1196. I CHRONICLES 12:38 All these men of war, that could keep rank,
  1197. came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all
  1198. Israel: and all the rest also of Israel {were} of one heart to
  1199. make David king.
  1200. I CHRONICLES 12:39 And there they were with David three days,
  1201. eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.
  1202. I CHRONICLES 12:40 Moreover they that were nigh them, {even} unto
  1203. Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on
  1204. camels, and on mules, and on oxen, {and} meat, meal, cakes of
  1205. figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and
  1206. sheep abundantly: for {there was} joy in Israel.
  1207. I CHRONICLES 13:1 And David consulted with the captains of
  1208. thousands and hundreds, {and} with every leader.
  1209. I CHRONICLES 13:2 And David said unto all the congregation of
  1210. Israel, If {it seem} good unto you, and {that it be} of the Lord
  1211. our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, {that
  1212. are} left in all the land of Israel, and with them {also} to the
  1213. priests and Levites {which are} in their cities {and} suburbs,
  1214. that they may gather themselves unto us:
  1215. I CHRONICLES 13:3 And let us bring again the ark of our God to
  1216. us: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul.
  1217. I CHRONICLES 13:4 And all the congregation said that they would
  1218. do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
  1219. I CHRONICLES 13:5 So David gathered all Israel together, from
  1220. Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hamath, to bring the
  1221. ark of God from Kirjathjearim.
  1222. I CHRONICLES 13:6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah,
  1223. {that is}, to Kirjathjearim, which {belonged} to Judah, to bring
  1224. up thence the ark of God the Lord, that dwelleth {between} the
  1225. cherubims, whose name is called {on it}.
  1226. I CHRONICLES 13:7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart
  1227. out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
  1228. I CHRONICLES 13:8 And David and all Israel played before God with
  1229. all {their} might, and with singing, and with harps, and with
  1230. psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with
  1231. trumpets.
  1232. I CHRONICLES 13:9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of
  1233. Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen
  1234. stumbled.
  1235. I CHRONICLES 13:10 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against
  1236. Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and
  1237. there he died before God.
  1238. I CHRONICLES 13:11 And David was displeased, because the Lord had
  1239. made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza
  1240. to this day.
  1241. I CHRONICLES 13:12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying,
  1242. How shall I bring the ark of God {home} to me?
  1243. I CHRONICLES 13:13 So David brought not the ark {home} to himself
  1244. to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of
  1245. Obededom the Gittite.
  1246. I CHRONICLES 13:14 And the ark of God remained with the family of
  1247. Obededom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the
  1248. house of Obededom, and all that he had.
  1249. I CHRONICLES 14:1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to
  1250. David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build
  1251. him an house.
  1252. I CHRONICLES 14:2 And David perceived that the Lord had confirmed
  1253. him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high,
  1254. because of his people Israel.
  1255. I CHRONICLES 14:3 And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and
  1256. David begat more sons and daughters.
  1257. I CHRONICLES 14:4 Now these {are} the names of {his} children
  1258. which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and
  1259. Solomon,
  1260. I CHRONICLES 14:5 And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
  1261. I CHRONICLES 14:6 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
  1262. I CHRONICLES 14:7 And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
  1263. I CHRONICLES 14:8 And when the Philistines heard that David was
  1264. anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to
  1265. seek David. And David heard {of it}, and went out against them.
  1266. I CHRONICLES 14:9 And the Philistines came and spread themselves
  1267. in the valley of Rephaim.
  1268. I CHRONICLES 14:10 And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go
  1269. up against the Philistines?  and wilt thou deliver them into mine
  1270. hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them
  1271. into thine hand.
  1272. I CHRONICLES 14:11 So they came up to Baalperazim; and David
  1273. smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine
  1274. enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore
  1275. they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
  1276. I CHRONICLES 14:12 And when they had left their gods there, David
  1277. gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
  1278. I CHRONICLES 14:13 And the Philistines yet again spread
  1279. themselves abroad in the valley.
  1280. I CHRONICLES 14:14 Therefore David inquired again of God; and God
  1281. said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and
  1282. come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
  1283. I CHRONICLES 14:15 And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound
  1284. of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, {that} then thou
  1285. shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to
  1286. smite the host of the Philistines.
  1287. I CHRONICLES 14:16 David therefore did as God commanded him: and
  1288. they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
  1289. I CHRONICLES 14:17 And the fame of David went out into all lands;
  1290. and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.
  1291. I CHRONICLES 15:1 And {David} made him houses in the city of
  1292. David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for
  1293. it a tent.
  1294. I CHRONICLES 15:2 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of
  1295. God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the
  1296. ark of God, and to minister unto Him for ever.
  1297. I CHRONICLES 15:3 And David gathered all Israel together to
  1298. Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto his place, which
  1299. he had prepared for it.
  1300. I CHRONICLES 15:4 And David assembled the children of Aaron, and
  1301. the Levites:
  1302. I CHRONICLES 15:5 Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his
  1303. brethren an hundred and twenty:
  1304. I CHRONICLES 15:6 Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and
  1305. his brethren two hundred and twenty:
  1306. I CHRONICLES 15:7 Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief and his
  1307. brethren an hundred and thirty:
  1308. I CHRONICLES 15:8 Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief,
  1309. and his brethren two hundred:
  1310. I CHRONICLES 15:9 Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his
  1311. brethren fourscore:
  1312. I CHRONICLES 15:10 Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief,
  1313. and his brethren an hundred and twelve.
  1314. I CHRONICLES 15:11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the
  1315. priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel,
  1316. Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
  1317. I CHRONICLES 15:12 And said unto them, Ye {are} the chief of the
  1318. fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, {both} ye and your
  1319. brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel
  1320. unto {the place that} I have prepared for it.
  1321. I CHRONICLES 15:13 For because ye {did it} not at the first, the
  1322. Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not
  1323. after the due order.
  1324. I CHRONICLES 15:14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified
  1325. themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.
  1326. I CHRONICLES 15:15 And the children of the Levites bare the ark
  1327. of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses
  1328. commanded according to the word of the Lord.
  1329. I CHRONICLES 15:16 And David spake to the chief of the Levites to
  1330. appoint their brethren {to be} the singers with instruments of
  1331. musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up
  1332. the voice with joy.
  1333. I CHRONICLES 15:17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of
  1334. Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the
  1335. sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
  1336. I CHRONICLES 15:18 And with them their brethren of the second
  1337. {degree}, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and
  1338. Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and
  1339. Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel,
  1340. the porters.
  1341. I CHRONICLES 15:19 So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, {were
  1342. appointed} to sound with cymbals of brass;
  1343. I CHRONICLES 15:20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and
  1344. Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with
  1345. psalteries on Alamoth;
  1346. I CHRONICLES 15:21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah,
  1347. and Obededom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith
  1348. to excel.
  1349. I CHRONICLES 15:22 And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, {was} for
  1350. song: he instructed about the song, because he {was} skilful.
  1351. I CHRONICLES 15:23 And Berechiah and Elkanah {were} doorkeepers
  1352. for the ark.
  1353. I CHRONICLES 15:24 And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel,
  1354. and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests,
  1355. did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obededom
  1356. and Jehiah {were} doorkeepers for the ark.
  1357. I CHRONICLES 15:25 So David, and the elders of Israel, and the
  1358. captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant
  1359. of the Lord out of the house of Obededom with joy.
  1360. I CHRONICLES 15:26 And it came to pass, when God helped the
  1361. Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they
  1362. offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
  1363. I CHRONICLES 15:27 And David {was} clothed with a robe of fine
  1364. linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers,
  1365. and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also
  1366. {had} upon him an ephod of linen.
  1367. I CHRONICLES 15:28 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the
  1368. covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the cornet,
  1369. and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with
  1370. psalteries and harps.
  1371. I CHRONICLES 15:29 And it came to pass, {as} the ark of the
  1372. covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal, the
  1373. daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing
  1374. and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
  1375. I CHRONICLES 16:1 So they brought the ark of God, and set it in
  1376. the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they
  1377. offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.
  1378. I CHRONICLES 16:2 And when David had made an end of offering the
  1379. burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in
  1380. the name of the Lord.
  1381. I CHRONICLES 16:3 And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man
  1382. and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of
  1383. flesh, and a flagon {of wine}.
  1384. I CHRONICLES 16:4 And he appointed {certain} of the Levites to
  1385. minister before the ark of the Lord, and to record, and to thank
  1386. and praise the Lord God of Israel:
  1387. I CHRONICLES 16:5 Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah,
  1388. Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab,
  1389. and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with
  1390. harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;
  1391. I CHRONICLES 16:6 Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with
  1392. trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
  1393. I CHRONICLES 16:7 Then on that day David delivered first {this
  1394. psalm} to thank the Lord into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
  1395. I CHRONICLES 16:8 Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name,
  1396. make known his deeds among the people.
  1397. I CHRONICLES 16:9 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of
  1398. all his wondrous works.
  1399. I CHRONICLES 16:10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of
  1400. them rejoice that seek the Lord.
  1401. I CHRONICLES 16:11 Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face
  1402. continually.
  1403. I CHRONICLES 16:12 Remember his marvellous works that he hath
  1404. done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
  1405. I CHRONICLES 16:13 O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children
  1406. of Jacob, his chosen ones.
  1407. I CHRONICLES 16:14 He {is} the Lord our God; his judgments {are}
  1408. in all the earth.
  1409. I CHRONICLES 16:15 Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word
  1410. {which} he commanded to a thousand generations;
  1411. I CHRONICLES 16:16 {Even of the covenant} which he made with
  1412. Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
  1413. I CHRONICLES 16:17 And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a
  1414. law, {and} to Israel {for} an everlasting covenant,
  1415. I CHRONICLES 16:18 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of
  1416. Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
  1417. I CHRONICLES 16:19 When ye were but few, even a few, and
  1418. strangers in it.
  1419. I CHRONICLES 16:20 And {when} they went from nation to nation,
  1420. and from {one} kingdom to another people;
  1421. I CHRONICLES 16:21 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he
  1422. reproved kings for their sakes,
  1423. I CHRONICLES 16:22 {Saying}, Touch not mine anointed, and do my
  1424. prophets no harm.
  1425. I CHRONICLES 16:23 Sing unto the Lord, all the earth; shew forth
  1426. from day to day his salvation.
  1427. I CHRONICLES 16:24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his
  1428. marvellous works among all nations.
  1429. I CHRONICLES 16:25 For great {is} the Lord, and greatly to be
  1430. praised: he also {is} to be feared above all gods.
  1431. I CHRONICLES 16:26 For all the gods of the people {are} idols:
  1432. but the Lord made the heavens.
  1433. I CHRONICLES 16:27 Glory and honour {are} in his presence;
  1434. strength and gladness {are} in his place.
  1435. I CHRONICLES 16:28 Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds of the people,
  1436. give unto the Lord glory and strength.
  1437. I CHRONICLES 16:29 Give unto the Lord the glory {due} unto his
  1438. name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in
  1439. beauty of holiness.
  1440. I CHRONICLES 16:30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also
  1441. shall be stable, that it be not moved.
  1442. I CHRONICLES 16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth
  1443. rejoice: and let {men} say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.
  1444. I CHRONICLES 16:32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let
  1445. the fields rejoice, and all that {is} therein.
  1446. I CHRONICLES 16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at
  1447. the presence of the Lord, because he cometh to judge the earth.
  1448. I CHRONICLES 16:34 O give thanks unto the Lord; for {he is} good;
  1449. for his mercy {endureth} for ever.
  1450. I CHRONICLES 16:35 And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation,
  1451. and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we
  1452. may give thanks to thy holy name, {and} glory in thy praise.
  1453. I CHRONICLES 16:36 Blessed {be} the Lord God of Israel for ever
  1454. And ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the Lord.
  1455. I CHRONICLES 16:37 So he left there before the ark of the
  1456. covenant of the Lord Asaph and his brethren, to minister before
  1457. the ark continually, as every day's work required:
  1458. I CHRONICLES 16:38 And Obededom with their brethren, threescore
  1459. and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah {to be}
  1460. porters:
  1461. I CHRONICLES 16:39 And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the
  1462. priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place was
  1463. {at} Gibeon,
  1464. I CHRONICLES 16:40 To offer burnt offerings unto the Lord upon
  1465. the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening,
  1466. and {to do} according to all that is written in the law of the
  1467. Lord, which he commanded Israel;
  1468. I CHRONICLES 16:41 And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest
  1469. that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to
  1470. the Lord, because his mercy {endureth} for ever;
  1471. I CHRONICLES 16:42 And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets
  1472. and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical
  1473. instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun {were} porters.
  1474. I CHRONICLES 16:43 And all the people departed every man to his
  1475. house: and David returned to bless his house.
  1476. I CHRONICLES 17:1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house,
  1477. that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of
  1478. cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord {remaineth} under
  1479. curtains.
  1480. I CHRONICLES 17:2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that {is}
  1481. in thine heart; for God {is} with thee.
  1482. I CHRONICLES 17:3 And it came to pass the same night, that the
  1483. word of God came to Nathan, saying,
  1484. I CHRONICLES 17:4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the
  1485. Lord, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:
  1486. I CHRONICLES 17:5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day
  1487. that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent
  1488. to tent, and from {one} tabernacle {to another}.
  1489. I CHRONICLES 17:6 Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel,
  1490. spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded
  1491. to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of
  1492. cedars?
  1493. I CHRONICLES 17:7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my
  1494. servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the
  1495. sheepcote, {even} from following the sheep, that thou shouldest
  1496. be ruler over my people Israel:
  1497. I CHRONICLES 17:8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou
  1498. hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee,
  1499. and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that
  1500. {are} in the earth.
  1501. I CHRONICLES 17:9 Also I will ordain a place for my people
  1502. Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place,
  1503. and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of
  1504. wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
  1505. I CHRONICLES 17:10 And since the time that I commanded judges {to
  1506. be} over my people Israel.  Moreover I will subdue all thine
  1507. enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the Lord will build thee an
  1508. house.
  1509. I CHRONICLES 17:11 And it shall come to pass, when thy days be
  1510. expired that thou must go {to be} with thy fathers, that I will
  1511. raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I
  1512. will establish his kingdom.
  1513. I CHRONICLES 17:12 He shall build me an house, and I will
  1514. stablish his throne for ever.
  1515. I CHRONICLES 17:13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son:
  1516. and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took {it} from
  1517. {him} that was before thee:
  1518. I CHRONICLES 17:14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my
  1519. kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for
  1520. evermore.
  1521. I CHRONICLES 17:15 According to all these words, and according to
  1522. all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
  1523. I CHRONICLES 17:16 And David the king came and sat before the
  1524. Lord, and said, Who {am} I, O Lord God, and what {is} mine house,
  1525. that thou hast brought me hitherto?
  1526. I CHRONICLES 17:17 And {yet} this was a small thing in thine
  1527. eyes, O God; for thou hast {also} spoken of thy servant's house
  1528. for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the
  1529. estate of a man of high degree, O Lord God.
  1530. I CHRONICLES 17:18 What can David {speak} more to thee for the
  1531. honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.
  1532. I CHRONICLES 17:19 O Lord, for thy servant's sake, and according
  1533. to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making
  1534. known all {these} great things.
  1535. I CHRONICLES 17:20 O Lord, {there is} none like thee, neither {is
  1536. there any} God beside thee, according to all that we have heard
  1537. with our ears.
  1538. I CHRONICLES 17:21 And what one nation in the earth {is} like thy
  1539. people Israel, whom God went to redeem {to be} his own people, to
  1540. make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out
  1541. nations from before thy people whom thou hast redeemed out of
  1542. Egypt?
  1543. I CHRONICLES 17:22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thine
  1544. own people for ever; and thou, Lord, becamest their God.
  1545. I CHRONICLES 17:23 Therefore now, Lord, let the thing that thou
  1546. hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be
  1547. established for ever, and do as thou hast said.
  1548. I CHRONICLES 17:24 Let it even be established, that thy name may
  1549. be magnified for ever, saying, The Lord of hosts {is} the God of
  1550. Israel, {even} a God to Israel: and {let} the house of David thy
  1551. servant be established before thee.
  1552. I CHRONICLES 17:25 For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that
  1553. thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found
  1554. {in his heart} to pray before thee.
  1555. I CHRONICLES 17:26 And now, Lord, thou art God, and hast promised
  1556. this goodness unto thy servant:
  1557. I CHRONICLES 17:27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the
  1558. house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for
  1559. thou blessest, O Lord, and {it shall be} blessed for ever.
  1560. I CHRONICLES 18:1 Now after this it came to pass, that David
  1561. smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her
  1562. towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
  1563. I CHRONICLES 18:2 And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became
  1564. David's servants, {and} brought gifts.
  1565. I CHRONICLES 18:3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto
  1566. Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river
  1567. Euphrates.
  1568. I CHRONICLES 18:4 And David took from him a thousand chariots,
  1569. and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David
  1570. also houghed all the chariot {horses}, but reserved of them an
  1571. hundred chariots.
  1572. I CHRONICLES 18:5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help
  1573. Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty
  1574. thousand men.
  1575. I CHRONICLES 18:6 Then David put {garrisons} in Syriadamascus;
  1576. and the Syrians became David's servants, {and} brought gifts.
  1577. Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.
  1578. I CHRONICLES 18:7 And David took the shields of gold that were on
  1579. the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
  1580. I CHRONICLES 18:8 Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of
  1581. Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made
  1582. the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
  1583. I CHRONICLES 18:9 Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had
  1584. smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;
  1585. I CHRONICLES 18:10 He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to
  1586. inquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had
  1587. fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war
  1588. with Tou;) and {with him} all manner of vessels of gold and
  1589. silver and brass.
  1590. I CHRONICLES 18:11 Them also king David dedicated unto the Lord,
  1591. with the silver and the gold that he brought from all {these}
  1592. nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of
  1593. Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
  1594. I CHRONICLES 18:12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of
  1595. the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.
  1596. I CHRONICLES 18:13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the
  1597. Edomites became David's servants. Thus the Lord preserved David
  1598. whithersoever he went.
  1599. I CHRONICLES 18:14 So David reigned over all Israel, and executed
  1600. judgment and justice among all his people.
  1601. I CHRONICLES 18:15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah {was} over the
  1602. host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.
  1603. I CHRONICLES 18:16 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the
  1604. son of Abiathar, {were} the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
  1605. I CHRONICLES 18:17 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada {was} over the
  1606. Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David {were}
  1607. chief about the king.
  1608. I CHRONICLES 19:1 Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the
  1609. king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his
  1610. stead.
  1611. I CHRONICLES 19:2 And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun
  1612. the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And
  1613. David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So
  1614. the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon
  1615. to Hanun, to comfort him.
  1616. I CHRONICLES 19:3 But the princes of the children of Ammon said
  1617. to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that
  1618. he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto
  1619. thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?
  1620. I CHRONICLES 19:4 Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and
  1621. shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by
  1622. their buttocks, and sent them away.
  1623. I CHRONICLES 19:5 Then there went {certain}, and told David how
  1624. the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were
  1625. greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your
  1626. beards be grown, and {then} return.
  1627. I CHRONICLES 19:6 And when the children of Ammon saw that they
  1628. had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of
  1629. Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and
  1630. horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syriamaachah, and out of
  1631. Zobah.
  1632. I CHRONICLES 19:7 So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots,
  1633. and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched
  1634. before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves
  1635. together from their cities, and came to battle.
  1636. I CHRONICLES 19:8 And when David heard {of it}, he sent Joab, and
  1637. all the host of the mighty men.
  1638. I CHRONICLES 19:9 And the children of Ammon came out, and put the
  1639. battle in array before the gate of the city: and the kings that
  1640. were come {were} by themselves in the field.
  1641. I CHRONICLES 19:10 Now when Joab saw that the battle was set
  1642. against him before and behind, he chose out of all the choice of
  1643. Israel, and put {them} in array against the Syrians.
  1644. I CHRONICLES 19:11 And the rest of the people he delivered unto
  1645. the hand of Abishai his brother, and they set {themselves} in
  1646. array against the children of Ammon.
  1647. I CHRONICLES 19:12 And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for
  1648. me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too
  1649. strong for thee, then I will help thee.
  1650. I CHRONICLES 19:13 Be of good courage, and let us behave
  1651. ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our
  1652. God: and let the Lord do {that which is} good in his sight.
  1653. I CHRONICLES 19:14 So Joab and the people that {were} with him
  1654. drew nigh before the Syrians unto the battle; and they fled
  1655. before him.
  1656. I CHRONICLES 19:15 And when the children of Ammon saw that the
  1657. Syrians were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother,
  1658. and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.
  1659. I CHRONICLES 19:16 And when the Syrians saw that they were put to
  1660. the worse before Israel, they sent messengers, and drew forth the
  1661. Syrians that {were} beyond the river: and Shophach the captain of
  1662. the host of Hadarezer {went} before them.
  1663. I CHRONICLES 19:17 And it was told David; and he gathered all
  1664. Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came upon them, and set {the
  1665. battle} in array against them. So when David had put the battle
  1666. in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
  1667. I CHRONICLES 19:18 But the Syrians fled before Israel; and David
  1668. slew of the Syrians seven thousand {men which fought in}
  1669. chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and killed Shophach the
  1670. captain of the host.
  1671. I CHRONICLES 19:19 And when the servants of Hadarezer saw that
  1672. they were put to the worse before Israel, they made peace with
  1673. David, and became his servants: neither would the Syrians help
  1674. the children of Ammon any more.
  1675. I CHRONICLES 20:1 And it came to pass, that after the year was
  1676. expired, at the time that kings go out {to battle}, Joab led
  1677. forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the
  1678. children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David
  1679. tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.
  1680. I CHRONICLES 20:2 And David took the crown of their king from off
  1681. his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and {there
  1682. were} precious stones in it; and it was set upon David's head:
  1683. and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.
  1684. I CHRONICLES 20:3 And he brought out the people that {were} in
  1685. it, and cut {them} with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with
  1686. axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of
  1687. Ammon. And David And all the people returned to Jerusalem.
  1688. I CHRONICLES 20:4 And it came to pass after this, that there
  1689. arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai
  1690. the Hushathite slew Sippai, {that was} of the children of the
  1691. giant: and they were subdued.
  1692. I CHRONICLES 20:5 And there was war again with the Philistines;
  1693. and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the
  1694. Gittite, whose spear staff {was} like a weaver's beam.
  1695. I CHRONICLES 20:6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was
  1696. a man of {great} stature, whose fingers and toes {were} four and
  1697. twenty, six {on each hand}, and six {on each foot} and he also
  1698. was the son of the giant.
  1699. I CHRONICLES 20:7 But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of
  1700. Shimea David's brother slew him.
  1701. I CHRONICLES 20:8 These were born unto the giant in Gath; and
  1702. they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
  1703. I CHRONICLES 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked
  1704. David to number Israel.
  1705. I CHRONICLES 21:2 And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the
  1706. people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring
  1707. the number of them to me, that I may know {it}.
  1708. I CHRONICLES 21:3 And Joab answered, The Lord make his people an
  1709. hundred times so many more as they {be}: but, my lord the king,
  1710. {are} they not all my lord's servants? why then doth my lord
  1711. require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?
  1712. I CHRONICLES 21:4 Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against
  1713. Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel,
  1714. and came to Jerusalem.
  1715. I CHRONICLES 21:5 And Joab gave the sum of the number of the
  1716. people unto David. And all {they of} Israel were a thousand
  1717. thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah
  1718. {was} four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew
  1719. sword.
  1720. I CHRONICLES 21:6 But Levi and Benjamin counted he not among
  1721. them: for the king's word was abominable to Joab.
  1722. I CHRONICLES 21:7 And God was displeased with this thing;
  1723. therefore he smote Israel.
  1724. I CHRONICLES 21:8 And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly,
  1725. because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away
  1726. the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.
  1727. I CHRONICLES 21:9 And the Lord spake unto Gad, David's seer,
  1728. saying,
  1729. I CHRONICLES 21:10 Go and tell David, saying, Thus saith the
  1730. Lord, I offer thee three {things}: choose thee one of them, that
  1731. I may do {it} unto thee.
  1732. I CHRONICLES 21:11 So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus
  1733. saith the Lord, Choose thee
  1734. I CHRONICLES 21:12 Either three years' famine; or three months to
  1735. be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine
  1736. enemies overtaketh {thee}; or else three days the sword of the
  1737. Lord, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the Lord
  1738. destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore
  1739. advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.
  1740. I CHRONICLES 21:13 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great
  1741. strait: let me fall now into the hand of the Lord; for very great
  1742. {are} his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.
  1743. I CHRONICLES 21:14 So the Lord sent pestilence upon Israel: and
  1744. there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.
  1745. I CHRONICLES 21:15 And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to
  1746. destroy it: and as he was destroying, the Lord beheld, and he
  1747. repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed,
  1748. It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord
  1749. stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
  1750. I CHRONICLES 21:16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the
  1751. angel of the Lord stand between the earth and the heaven, having
  1752. a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then
  1753. David and the elders {of Israel, who were} clothed in sackcloth,
  1754. fell upon their faces.
  1755. I CHRONICLES 21:17 And David said unto God, {Is it} not I {that}
  1756. commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have
  1757. sinned and done evil indeed; but {as for} these sheep, what have
  1758. they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O Lord my God, be on me,
  1759. and on my father's house; but not on thy people, that they should
  1760. be plagued.
  1761. I CHRONICLES 21:18 Then the angel of the Lord commanded Gad to
  1762. say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto
  1763. the Lord in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
  1764. I CHRONICLES 21:19 And David went up at the saying of Gad, which
  1765. he spake in the name of the Lord.
  1766. I CHRONICLES 21:20 And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and
  1767. his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing
  1768. wheat.
  1769. I CHRONICLES 21:21 And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and
  1770. saw David, and went out of the threshingfloor, and bowed himself
  1771. to David with {his} face to the ground.
  1772. I CHRONICLES 21:22 Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place
  1773. of {this} threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto
  1774. the Lord: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the
  1775. plague may be stayed from the people.
  1776. I CHRONICLES 21:23 And Ornan said unto David, Take {it} to thee,
  1777. and let my lord the king do {that which is} good in his eyes: lo,
  1778. I give {thee} the oxen {also} for burnt offerings, and the
  1779. threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat
  1780. offering; I give it all.
  1781. I CHRONICLES 21:24 And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will
  1782. verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take {that}
  1783. which {is} thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings without
  1784. cost.
  1785. I CHRONICLES 21:25 So David gave to Ornan for the place six
  1786. hundred shekels of gold by weight.
  1787. I CHRONICLES 21:26 And David built there an altar unto the Lord,
  1788. and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon
  1789. the Lord; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar
  1790. of burnt offering.
  1791. I CHRONICLES 21:27 And the Lord commanded the angel; and he put
  1792. up his sword again into the sheath thereof.
  1793. I CHRONICLES 21:28 At that time when David saw that the Lord had
  1794. answered him in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he
  1795. sacrificed there.
  1796. I CHRONICLES 21:29 For the tabernacle of the Lord, which Moses
  1797. made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt offering,
  1798. {were} at that season in the high place at Gibeon.
  1799. I CHRONICLES 21:30 But David could not go before it to inquire of
  1800. God: for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the
  1801. Lord.
  1802. I CHRONICLES 22:1 Then David said, This {is} the house of the
  1803. Lord God, and this {is} the altar of the burnt offering for
  1804. Israel.
  1805. I CHRONICLES 22:2 And David commanded to gather together the
  1806. strangers that {were} in the land of Israel; and he set masons to
  1807. hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
  1808. I CHRONICLES 22:3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the
  1809. nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass
  1810. in abundance without weight;
  1811. I CHRONICLES 22:4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the
  1812. Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
  1813. I CHRONICLES 22:5 And David said, Solomon my son {is} young and
  1814. tender, and the house {that is} to be builded for the Lord {must
  1815. be} exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all
  1816. countries: I will {therefore} now make preparation for it.  So
  1817. David prepared abundantly before his death.
  1818. I CHRONICLES 22:6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged
  1819. him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel.
  1820. I CHRONICLES 22:7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me,
  1821. it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my
  1822. God:
  1823. I CHRONICLES 22:8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  1824. Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou
  1825. shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed
  1826. much blood upon the earth in my sight.
  1827. I CHRONICLES 22:9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall
  1828. be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies
  1829. round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace
  1830. and quietness unto Israel in his days.
  1831. I CHRONICLES 22:10 He shall build an house for my name; and he
  1832. shall be my son, and I {will be} his father; and I will establish
  1833. the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
  1834. I CHRONICLES 22:11 Now, my son, the Lord be with thee; and
  1835. prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God, as he hath
  1836. said of thee.
  1837. I CHRONICLES 22:12 Only the Lord give thee wisdom and
  1838. understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou
  1839. mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God.
  1840. I CHRONICLES 22:13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed
  1841. to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses
  1842. with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread
  1843. not, nor be dismayed.
  1844. I CHRONICLES 22:14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for
  1845. the house of the Lord an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a
  1846. thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron
  1847. without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone
  1848. have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
  1849. I CHRONICLES 22:15 Moreover {there are} workmen with thee in
  1850. abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner
  1851. of cunning men for every manner of work.
  1852. I CHRONICLES 22:16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and
  1853. the iron, {there is} no number. Arise {therefore}, and be doing,
  1854. and the Lord be with thee.
  1855. I CHRONICLES 22:17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel
  1856. to help Solomon his son, {saying},
  1857. I CHRONICLES 22:18 {Is} not the Lord your God with you? and hath
  1858. he {not} given you rest on every side? for he hath given the
  1859. inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued
  1860. before the Lord, and before his people.
  1861. I CHRONICLES 22:19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the
  1862. Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the
  1863. Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the
  1864. holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the
  1865. name of the Lord.
  1866. I CHRONICLES 23:1 So when David was old and full of days, he made
  1867. Solomon his son king over Israel.
  1868. I CHRONICLES 23:2 And he gathered together all the princes of
  1869. Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
  1870. I CHRONICLES 23:3 Now the Levites were numbered from the age of
  1871. thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by
  1872. man, was thirty and eight thousand.
  1873. I CHRONICLES 23:4 Of which, twenty and four thousand {were} to
  1874. set forward the work of the house of the Lord; and six thousand
  1875. {were} officers and judges:
  1876. I CHRONICLES 23:5 Moreover four thousand {were} porters; and four
  1877. thousand praised the Lord with the instruments which I made,
  1878. {said David}, to praise {therewith}.
  1879. I CHRONICLES 23:6 And David divided them into courses among the
  1880. sons of Levi, {namely}, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
  1881. I CHRONICLES 23:7 Of the Gershonites {were}, Laadan, and Shimei.
  1882. I CHRONICLES 23:8 The sons of Laadan; the chief {was} Jehiel, and
  1883. Zetham, and Joel, three.
  1884. I CHRONICLES 23:9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and
  1885. Haran, three. These {were} the chief of the fathers of Laadan.
  1886. I CHRONICLES 23:10 And the sons of Shimei {were}, Jahath, Zina,
  1887. and Jeush, and Beriah. These four {were} the sons of Shimei.
  1888. I CHRONICLES 23:11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the
  1889. second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they
  1890. were in one reckoning, according to {their} father's house.
  1891. I CHRONICLES 23:12 The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and
  1892. Uzziel, four.
  1893. I CHRONICLES 23:13 The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron
  1894. was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he
  1895. and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the Lord, to
  1896. minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.
  1897. I CHRONICLES 23:14 Now {concerning} Moses the man of God, his
  1898. sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
  1899. I CHRONICLES 23:15 The sons of Moses {were}, Gershom, and
  1900. Eliezer.
  1901. I CHRONICLES 23:16 Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel {was} the
  1902. chief.
  1903. I CHRONICLES 23:17 And the sons of Eliezer {were}, Rehabiah the
  1904. chief. And Eliezer had none other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah
  1905. were very many.
  1906. I CHRONICLES 23:18 Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.
  1907. I CHRONICLES 23:19 Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first,
  1908. Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
  1909. I CHRONICLES 23:20 Of the sons of Uzziel; Michah the first and
  1910. Jesiah the second.

  1913. I CHRONICLES 23:22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but
  1914. daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.

  1927. service thereof.
  1928. I CHRONICLES 23:27 For by the last words of David the Levites
  1929. {were} numbered from twenty years old and above:
  1930. I CHRONICLES 23:28 Because their office {was} to wait on the sons
  1931. of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts,
  1932. and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and
  1933. the work of the service of the house of God;
  1934. I CHRONICLES 23:29 Both for the shewbread, and for the fine flour
  1935. for meat offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for {that
  1936. which is baked in} the pan, and for that which is fried, and for
  1937. all manner of measure and size;
  1938. I CHRONICLES 23:30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise
  1939. the Lord, and likewise at even:
  1940. I CHRONICLES 23:31 And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the
  1941. Lord in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by
  1942. number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually
  1943. before the Lord:
  1944. I CHRONICLES 23:32 And that they should keep the charge of the
  1945. tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy
  1946. {place}, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in
  1947. the service of the house of the Lord.
  1948. I CHRONICLES 24:1 Now {these are} the divisions of the sons of
  1949. Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
  1950. I CHRONICLES 24:2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father,
  1951. and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the
  1952. priest's office.
  1953. I CHRONICLES 24:3 And David distributed them, both Zadok of the
  1954. sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according
  1955. to their offices in their service.
  1956. I CHRONICLES 24:4 And there were more chief men found of the sons
  1957. of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and {thus} were they
  1958. divided. Among the sons of Eleazar {there were} sixteen chief men
  1959. of the house of {their} fathers, and eight Among the sons of
  1960. Ithamar according to the house of their fathers.
  1961. I CHRONICLES 24:5 Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with
  1962. another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors {of
  1963. the house} of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons
  1964. of Ithamar.
  1965. I CHRONICLES 24:6 And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe,
  1966. {one} of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the
  1967. princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar,
  1968. and {before} the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites:
  1969. one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and {one} taken
  1970. for Ithamar.

  2018. brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and
  2019. Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests
  2020. and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their
  2021. younger brethren.
  2022. I CHRONICLES 25:1 Moreover David and the captains of the host
  2023. separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and
  2024. of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and
  2025. with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their
  2026. service was:
  2027. I CHRONICLES 25:2 Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and
  2028. Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of
  2029. Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king.

  2038. I CHRONICLES 25:5 All these {were} the sons of Heman the king's
  2039. seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to
  2040. Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
  2041. I CHRONICLES 25:6 All these {were} under the hands of their
  2042. father for song {in} the house of the Lord, with cymbals,
  2043. psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God,
  2044. according to the king's order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
  2045. I CHRONICLES 25:7 So the number of them, with their brethren that
  2046. were instructed in the songs of the Lord, {even} all that were
  2047. cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

  2049. well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

  2100. the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel
  2101. the fourth,
  2102. I CHRONICLES 26:3 Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai
  2103. the seventh.
  2104. I CHRONICLES 26:4 Moreover the sons of Obededom {were}, Shemaiah
  2105. the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar
  2106. the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth.
  2107. I CHRONICLES 26:5 Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh,
  2108. Peulthai the eighth: for God blessed him.
  2109. I CHRONICLES 26:6 Also unto Shemaiah his son were sons born, that
  2110. ruled throughout the house of their father: for they {were}
  2111. mighty men of valour.
  2112. I CHRONICLES 26:7 The sons of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and
  2113. Obed, Elzabad, whose brethren {were} strong men, Elihu, and
  2114. Semachiah.
  2115. I CHRONICLES 26:8 All these of the sons of Obededom: they and
  2116. their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the
  2117. service, {were} threescore and two of Obededom.
  2118. I CHRONICLES 26:9 And Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, strong
  2119. men, eighteen.
  2120. I CHRONICLES 26:10 Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had
  2121. sons; Simri the chief, (for {though} he was not the firstborn,
  2122. yet his father made him the chief;)
  2123. I CHRONICLES 26:11 Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third,
  2124. Zechariah the fourth: all the sons and brethren of Hosah {were}
  2125. thirteen.
  2126. I CHRONICLES 26:12 Among these {were} the divisions of the
  2127. porters, {even} among the chief men, {having} wards one against
  2128. another, to minister in the house of the Lord.
  2129. I CHRONICLES 26:13 And they cast lots, as well the small as the
  2130. great, according to the house of their fathers, for every gate.
  2131. I CHRONICLES 26:14 And the lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then
  2132. for Zechariah his son, a wise counseller, they cast lots; and his
  2133. lot came out northward.
  2134. I CHRONICLES 26:15 To Obededom southward; and to his sons the
  2135. house of Asuppim.
  2136. I CHRONICLES 26:16 To Shuppim and Hosah {the lot came forth}
  2137. westward, with the gate Shallecheth, by the causeway of the going
  2138. up, ward against ward.
  2139. I CHRONICLES 26:17 Eastward {were} six Levites, northward four a
  2140. day, southward four a day, and toward Asuppim two {and} two.
  2141. I CHRONICLES 26:18 At Parbar westward, four at the causeway,
  2142. {and} two at Parbar.
  2143. I CHRONICLES 26:19 These {are} the divisions of the porters among
  2144. the sons of Kore, and among the sons of Merari.
  2145. I CHRONICLES 26:20 And of the Levites, Ahijah {was} over the
  2146. treasures of the house of God, and over the treasures of the
  2147. dedicated things.
  2148. I CHRONICLES 26:21 {As concerning} the sons of Laadan; the sons
  2149. of the Gershonite Laadan, chief fathers, {even} of Laadan the
  2150. Gershonite, {were} Jehieli.
  2151. I CHRONICLES 26:22 The sons of Jehieli; Zetham, and Joel his
  2152. brother, {which were} over the treasures of the house of the
  2153. Lord.
  2154. I CHRONICLES 26:23 Of the Amramites, {and} the Izharites, the
  2155. Hebronites, {and} the Uzzielites:
  2156. I CHRONICLES 26:24 And Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of
  2157. Moses, {was} ruler of the treasures.
  2158. I CHRONICLES 26:25 And his brethren by Eliezer; Rehabiah his son,
  2159. and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and
  2160. Shelomith his son.
  2161. I CHRONICLES 26:26 Which Shelomith and his brethren {were} over
  2162. all the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king,
  2163. and the chief fathers, the captains over thousands and hundreds,
  2164. and the captains of the host, had dedicated.
  2165. I CHRONICLES 26:27 Out of the spoils won in battles did they
  2166. dedicate to maintain the house of the Lord.
  2167. I CHRONICLES 26:28 And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son
  2168. of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah,
  2169. had dedicated; {and} whosoever had dedicated {any thing, it was}
  2170. under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren.
  2171. I CHRONICLES 26:29 Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons
  2172. {were} for the outward business over Israel, for officers and
  2173. judges.
  2174. I CHRONICLES 26:30 {And} of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his
  2175. brethren, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, {were}
  2176. officers among them of Israel on this side Jordan westward in all
  2177. the business of the Lord, and in the service of the king.
  2178. I CHRONICLES 26:31 Among the Hebronites {was} Jerijah the chief,
  2179. {even} among the Hebronites, according to the generations of his
  2180. fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were
  2181. sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valour
  2182. at Jazer of Gilead.
  2183. I CHRONICLES 26:32 And his brethren, men of valour, {were} two
  2184. thousand and seven hundred chief fathers, whom king David made
  2185. rulers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of
  2186. Manasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and affairs of the
  2187. king.
  2188. I CHRONICLES 27:1 Now the children of Israel after their number,
  2189. {to wit}, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and
  2190. hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter
  2191. of the courses, which came in and went out month by month
  2192. throughout all the months of the year, of every course {were}
  2193. twenty and four thousand.
  2194. I CHRONICLES 27:2 Over the first course for the first month {was}
  2195. Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course {were} twenty and
  2196. four thousand.
  2197. I CHRONICLES 27:3 Of the children of Perez was the chief of all
  2198. the captains of the host for the first month.
  2199. I CHRONICLES 27:4 And over the course of the second month {was}
  2200. Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course {was} Mikloth also the ruler:
  2201. in his course likewise {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2202. I CHRONICLES 27:5 The third captain of the host for the third
  2203. month {was} Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in
  2204. his course {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2205. I CHRONICLES 27:6 This {is that} Benaiah, {who was} mighty
  2206. {among} the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course {was}
  2207. Ammizabad his son.
  2208. I CHRONICLES 27:7 The fourth {captain} for the fourth month {was}
  2209. Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and
  2210. in his course {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2211. I CHRONICLES 27:8 The fifth captain for the fifth month {was}
  2212. Shamhuth the Izrahite: and in his course {were} twenty and four
  2213. thousand.
  2214. I CHRONICLES 27:9 The sixth {captain} for the sixth month {was}
  2215. Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his course {were}
  2216. twenty and four thousand.
  2217. I CHRONICLES 27:10 The seventh {captain} for the seventh month
  2218. {was} Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his
  2219. course {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2220. I CHRONICLES 27:11 The eighth {captain} for the eighth month
  2221. {was} Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course
  2222. {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2223. I CHRONICLES 27:12 The ninth {Captain} for the ninth month {was}
  2224. Abiezer the Anetothite, of the Benjamites: and in his course
  2225. {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2226. I CHRONICLES 27:13 The tenth {captain} for the tenth month {was}
  2227. Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course
  2228. {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2229. I CHRONICLES 27:14 The eleventh {captain} for the eleventh month
  2230. {was} Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in
  2231. his course {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2232. I CHRONICLES 27:15 The twelfth {captain} for the twelfth month
  2233. {was} Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel: and in his course
  2234. {were} twenty and four thousand.
  2235. I CHRONICLES 27:16 Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: the
  2236. ruler of the Reubenites {was} Eliezer the son of Zichri: of the
  2237. Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maachah:
  2238. I CHRONICLES 27:17 Of the Levites, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel:
  2239. of the Aaronites, Zadok:
  2240. I CHRONICLES 27:18 Of Judah, Elihu, {one} of the brethren of
  2241. David: of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael:
  2242. I CHRONICLES 27:19 Of Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah: of
  2243. Naphtali, Jerimoth the son of Azriel:
  2244. I CHRONICLES 27:20 Of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of
  2245. Azaziah: of the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah:
  2246. I CHRONICLES 27:21 Of the half {tribe} of Manasseh in Gilead,
  2247. Iddo the son of Zechariah: of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner:
  2248. I CHRONICLES 27:22 Of Dan, Azareel the son of Jeroham. These
  2249. {were} the princes of the tribes of Israel.
  2250. I CHRONICLES 27:23 But David took not the number of them from
  2251. twenty years old and under: because the Lord had said he would
  2252. increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
  2253. I CHRONICLES 27:24 Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but
  2254. he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel;
  2255. neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of
  2256. king David.
  2257. I CHRONICLES 27:25 And over the king's treasures {was} Azmaveth
  2258. the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the
  2259. cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, {was} Jehonathan
  2260. the son of Uzziah:
  2261. I CHRONICLES 27:26 And over them that did the work of the field
  2262. for tillage of the ground {was} Ezri the son of Chelub:
  2263. I CHRONICLES 27:27 And over the vineyards {was} Shimei the
  2264. Ramathite: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine
  2265. cellars {was} Zabdi the Shiphmite:
  2266. I CHRONICLES 27:28 And over the olive trees and the sycomore
  2267. trees that {were} in the low plains {was} Baalhanan the Gederite:
  2268. and over the cellars of oil {was} Joash:
  2269. I CHRONICLES 27:29 And over the herds that fed in Sharon {was}
  2270. Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds {that were} in the
  2271. valleys {was} Shaphat the son of Adlai:
  2272. I CHRONICLES 27:30 Over the camels also {was} Obil the
  2273. Ishmaelite: and over the asses {was} Jehdeiah the Meronothite:
  2274. I CHRONICLES 27:31 And over the flocks {was} Jaziz the Hagerite.
  2275. All these {were} the rulers of the substance which {was} king
  2276. David's.
  2277. I CHRONICLES 27:32 Also Jonathan David's uncle was a counseller,
  2278. a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni {was}
  2279. with the king's sons:
  2280. I CHRONICLES 27:33 And Ahithophel {was} the king's counseller:
  2281. and Hushai the Archite {was} the king's companion:
  2282. I CHRONICLES 27:34 And after Ahithophel {was} Jehoiada the son of
  2283. Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king's army {was}
  2284. Joab.
  2285. I CHRONICLES 28:1 And David assembled all the princes of Israel,
  2286. the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that
  2287. ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the
  2288. thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over
  2289. all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons,
  2290. with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the
  2291. valiant men, unto Jerusalem.
  2292. I CHRONICLES 28:2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and
  2293. said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: {as for me}, I {had}
  2294. in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the
  2295. covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had
  2296. made ready for the building:
  2297. I CHRONICLES 28:3 But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an
  2298. house for my name, because thou {hast been} a man of war, and
  2299. hast shed blood.
  2300. I CHRONICLES 28:4 Howbeit the Lord God of Israel chose me before
  2301. all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for
  2302. he hath chosen Judah {to be} the ruler; and of the house of
  2303. Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he
  2304. liked me to make {me} king over all Israel:
  2305. I CHRONICLES 28:5 And of all my sons, (for the Lord hath given me
  2306. many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne
  2307. of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.
  2308. I CHRONICLES 28:6 And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall
  2309. build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him {to be} my
  2310. son, and I will be his father.
  2311. I CHRONICLES 28:7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever,
  2312. if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at
  2313. this day.
  2314. I CHRONICLES 28:8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the
  2315. congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep
  2316. and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye
  2317. may possess this good land, and leave {it} for an inheritance for
  2318. your children after you for ever.
  2319. I CHRONICLES 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of
  2320. thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing
  2321. mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all
  2322. the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be
  2323. found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for
  2324. ever.
  2325. I CHRONICLES 28:10 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee
  2326. to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do {it}.
  2327. I CHRONICLES 28:11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern
  2328. of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries
  2329. thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner
  2330. parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
  2331. I CHRONICLES 28:12 And the pattern of all that he had by the
  2332. spirit, of the courts of the house of the Lord, and of all the
  2333. chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and
  2334. of the treasuries of the dedicated things:
  2335. I CHRONICLES 28:13 Also for the courses of the priests and the
  2336. Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the
  2337. Lord, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the
  2338. Lord.
  2339. I CHRONICLES 28:14 {He gave} of gold by weight for {things} of
  2340. gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; {silver also}
  2341. for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of
  2342. every kind of service:
  2343. I CHRONICLES 28:15 Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold,
  2344. and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and
  2345. for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by
  2346. weight, {both} for the candlestick, and {also} for the lamps
  2347. thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.
  2348. I CHRONICLES 28:16 And by weight {he gave} gold for the tables of
  2349. shewbread, for every table; and {likewise} silver for the tables
  2350. of silver:
  2351. I CHRONICLES 28:17 Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the
  2352. bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons {he gave gold} by
  2353. weight for every bason; and {likewise silver} by weight for every
  2354. bason of silver:
  2355. I CHRONICLES 28:18 And for the altar of incense refined gold by
  2356. weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the Cherubims,
  2357. that spread out {their wings}, and covered the ark of the
  2358. covenant of the Lord.
  2359. I CHRONICLES 28:19 All {this, said David}, the Lord made me
  2360. understand in writing by {his} hand upon me, {even} all the works
  2361. of this pattern.
  2362. I CHRONICLES 28:20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong
  2363. and of good courage, and do {it}: fear not, nor be dismayed: for
  2364. the Lord God, {even} my God, {will be} with thee; he will not
  2365. fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the
  2366. work for the service of the house of the Lord.
  2367. I CHRONICLES 28:21 And, behold, the courses of the priests and
  2368. the Levites, {even they shall be with thee} for all the service
  2369. of the house of God: and {there shall be} with thee for all
  2370. manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner
  2371. of service: also the princes and all the people {will be} wholly
  2372. at thy commandment.
  2373. I CHRONICLES 29:1 Furthermore David the king said unto all the
  2374. congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, {is
  2375. yet} young and tender, and the work {is} great: for the palace
  2376. {is} not for man, but for the Lord God.
  2377. I CHRONICLES 29:2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the
  2378. house of my God the gold for {things to be made} of gold, and the
  2379. silver for {things} of silver, and the brass for {things} of
  2380. brass, the iron for {things} of iron, and wood for {things} of
  2381. wood; onyx stones, and {stones} to be set, glistering stones, and
  2382. of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble
  2383. stones in abundance.
  2384. I CHRONICLES 29:3 Moreover, because I have set my affection to
  2385. the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and
  2386. silver, {which} I have given to the house of my God, over and
  2387. above all that I have prepared for the holy house.
  2388. I CHRONICLES 29:4 {Even} three thousand talents of gold, of the
  2389. gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to
  2390. overlay the walls of the houses {withal}:
  2391. I CHRONICLES 29:5 The gold for {things} of gold, and the silver
  2392. for {things} of silver, and for all manner of work {to be made}
  2393. by the hands of artificers. And who {then} is willing to
  2394. consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?
  2395. I CHRONICLES 29:6 Then the chief of the fathers and princes of
  2396. the tribes of Israel and the captains of thousands and of
  2397. hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly,
  2398. I CHRONICLES 29:7 And gave for the service of the house of God of
  2399. gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver
  2400. ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and
  2401. one hundred thousand talents of iron.
  2402. I CHRONICLES 29:8 And they with whom {precious} stones were found
  2403. gave {them} to the treasure of the house of the Lord, by the hand
  2404. of Jehiel the Gershonite.
  2405. I CHRONICLES 29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered
  2406. willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to
  2407. the Lord: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
  2408. I CHRONICLES 29:10 Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all
  2409. the congregation: and David said, Blessed {be} thou, Lord God of
  2410. Israel our father, for ever and ever.
  2411. I CHRONICLES 29:11 Thine, O Lord {is} the greatness, and the
  2412. power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all
  2413. {that is} in the heaven and in the earth {is thine}; thine {is}
  2414. the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.
  2415. I CHRONICLES 29:12 Both riches and honour {come} of thee, and
  2416. thou reignest over all; and in thine hand {is} power and might;
  2417. and in thine hand {it is} to make great, and to give strength
  2418. unto all.
  2419. I CHRONICLES 29:13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and
  2420. praise thy glorious name.
  2421. I CHRONICLES 29:14 But who {am} I, and what {is} my people, that
  2422. we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all
  2423. things {come} of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
  2424. I CHRONICLES 29:15 For we {are} strangers before thee, and
  2425. sojourners, as {were} all our fathers: our days on the earth
  2426. {are} as a shadow, and {there is} none abiding.
  2427. I CHRONICLES 29:16 O Lord our God, all this store that we have
  2428. prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name {cometh} of
  2429. thine hand, and {is} all thine own.
  2430. I CHRONICLES 29:17 I know also, my God, that thou triest the
  2431. heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the
  2432. uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these
  2433. things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are
  2434. present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
  2435. I CHRONICLES 29:18 O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel,
  2436. our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the
  2437. thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto
  2438. thee:
  2439. I CHRONICLES 29:19 And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart,
  2440. to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and
  2441. to do all {these things}, and to build the palace, {for} the
  2442. which I have made provision.
  2443. I CHRONICLES 29:20 And David said to all the congregation, Now
  2444. bless the Lord your God. And all the congregation blessed the
  2445. Lord God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and
  2446. worshipped the Lord, and the king.
  2447. I CHRONICLES 29:21 And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the Lord,
  2448. and offered burnt offerings unto the Lord, on the morrow after
  2449. that day, {even} a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, {and} a
  2450. thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in
  2451. abundance for all Israel:
  2452. I CHRONICLES 29:22 And did eat and drink before the Lord on that
  2453. day with great gladness.  And they made Solomon the son of David
  2454. king the second time, and anointed {him} unto the Lord {to be}
  2455. the chief governor, and Zadok {to be} priest.
  2456. I CHRONICLES 29:23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as
  2457. king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel
  2458. obeyed him.
  2459. I CHRONICLES 29:24 And all the princes, and the mighty men, and
  2460. all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto
  2461. Solomon the king.
  2462. I CHRONICLES 29:25 And the Lord magnified Solomon exceedingly in
  2463. the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him {such} royal
  2464. majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.
  2465. I CHRONICLES 29:26 Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all
  2466. Israel.
  2467. I CHRONICLES 29:27 And the time that he reigned over Israel {was}
  2468. forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and
  2469. three {years} reigned he in Jerusalem.
  2470. I CHRONICLES 29:28 And he died in a good old age, full of days,
  2471. riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.
  2472. I CHRONICLES 29:29 Now the acts of David the king, first and
  2473. last, behold, they {are} written in the book of Samuel the seer,
  2474. and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the
  2475. seer,
  2476. I CHRONICLES 29:30 With all his reign and his might, and the
  2477. times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the
  2478. kingdoms of the countries.
