  4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

  6. Video Connect Service provides an end-to-end solution for broadband/business
  7. video services, and includes the total delivery of network and CPE.  This
  8. service includes analog, digital, multiple speed, switched, non-switched,
  9. compressed, non-compressed, broadcast and interactive full motion video
  10. offerings.  In addition to the services described above, GTE, through teaming
  11. relationships with GTE VisNet, will provide ongoing equipment maintenance,
  12. on-line customer support, and high-margin video programming services.

  15. BROADCAST QUALITY

  17.       Video Connect Broadcast Quality Service provides transmission
  18.       capability which supports a picture quality that meets or exceeds
  19.       performance requirements for 525 line/60 field monochrome, or National
  20.       Television System Committee (NTSC) color video signals.  In addition,
  21.       this service transmits from one to four associated audio signals along
  22.       with the video signal.  Video Connect Broadcast Quality Service employs
  23.       two types of network facilities to complete the customer circuit.

  26. COMMERCIAL QUALITY

  28.       Video Connect Commercial Quality Service provides transmission
  29.       facilities which support a picture quality that is near the performance
  30.       requirements of NTSC broadcast quality video, but is not as high in
  31.       quality as Broadcast Quality video.  Video Connect Commercial Quality
  32.       Service employs two types of network facilities to complete the
  33.       customer circuit.

  36. BUSINESS QUALITY

  38.       Video Connect Business Quality Service utilizes compressed video
  39.       transmission techniques and equipment capable of transmitting good
  40.       picture quality.  The video equipment being deployed with this service
  41.       meets or exceeds both the NTSC and PAL requirements.  Video Connect
  42.       Service Business Quality employs two types of network facilities to
  43.       complete the customer circuit.

  71. were usually those that had very specialized applications or those that had
  72. "deep pockets", because video services were very expensive.  During the past
  73. few years, the technology and the resulting video quality have improved
  74. dramatically.
