  2. INFORMATION ON DEAD SEA SCROLLS EXHIBITION

  5.      "Scrolls from the Dead Sea:  The Ancient Library of Qumran
  6. and Modern Scholarship" is a major exhibition at the Library of
  7. Congress.  The exhibition will be on view in the Madison Gallery
  8. of the Library's Madison Building on Capitol Hill.  Use the
  9. Independence Avenue Entrance of the Madison Building, located
  10. between First and Second Streets, S.E.  The exhibition will be
  11. open from April 29-August 1, 1993.  The hours of the exhibition
  12. are 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1:00-5:00 p.m.
  13. Sunday.

  15.      The Library does not charge an admission fee to its
  16. exhibitions; however, because of the popularity of this
  17. exhibition, timed-entry tickets are required.  Beginning April
  18. 29, the first day the exhibition opens, the Library will
  19. distribute a limited number of same-day tickets free of charge on
  20. a first-come, first-served basis.  These free, same-day tickets
  21. will be available at the ticket booth just outside the entrance
  22. to the Madison Memorial Hall, first floor, Madison Building. 
  23. They may be picked up starting one-half hour before the
  24. exhibition opens for any available half-hour period each day. 
  25. The Library will not distribute advance tickets for admission on
  26. another day.  A free coat check is available in the Madison
  27. Memorial Hall for this exhibition, as coats, packages, and most
  28. personal belongings cannot be carried through the exhibition. 
  29. Photography will not be permitted in the exhibition.  The Library
  30. of Congress is located one block north of the Capitol South Metro
  31. Station on the Blue and Orange Lines and five blocks south of the
  32. Union Station Metro Station on the Red Line.  Parking on Capitol
  33. Hill is extremely limited, especially Monday-Friday.  The
  34. exhibition is accessible for persons with disabilities.

  36.      Advance tickets are available for a handling charge at all
  37. TicketMaster locations, including Hecht's Department Stores in
  38. the Washington/Baltimore area, or by calling TicketMaster in the
  39. Washington, D.C. area at: 202-432-SEAT; in the Baltimore,
  40. Maryland area at: 410-481-SEAT; or nationwide toll free at: 800-
  41. 551-SEAT.  TicketMaster is open from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. seven
  42. days a week.  Advance ticketing through TicketMaster has a
  43. handling charge.  Advance tickets may be obtained for any
  44. available date during the entire three-month run of the
  45. exhibition.  An optional audio tour of the exhibition is
  46. available for a fee.  The audio tour may be rented at the Library
  47. each day before entering the exhibition or it may be reserved
  48. through TicketMaster, for an additional handling charge, when
  49. arranging for advance tickets.  For further information, contact
