APRO, founded in 1952, remains the oldest UFO organization, but since the death
of co-founder Jim Lorenzon, its activities have become somewhat limited. The

CSICOP represents scientists, engineers and academicians interested in
promoting responsible investigation of paranormal claims. They advocate
maintaining a skeptical attitude at all times in the research and review of UFO
sightings, abductions, etc. Their help in "separating the wheat from the chaff"
has been invaluable to UFO research.

This organization has taken on the monumental task of sifting through thousands
of pages of government documents impacting the UFO question, obtained under the
Freedom of Information Act (often through CAUS-initiated litigation). Two of
the principals of CAUS recently published the book, "Clear Intent", in which
many of the FOIA documents can be found.
