  1. INTEGRATED SERVICES DIGITAL NETWORK (ISDN)
  2. BASIC RATE INTERFACE (BRI) - MULTILINE (MP) SINGLE LINE (SP)

  4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
  5.  
  6. 2B+D access, which provides two 64 KBPS clear channels and a data channel for
  7. CentraNet (Centrex) or Multiline customer (ISDN-BRI-MP) and a single line
  8. offering (ISDN-SL).  Basic Rate Interface/Single Line (ISDN-BRI/SL) services
  9. consists of a digital line which provides digital transmission capabilities
  10. to the customers' premises and allows for the simultaneous transmission of
  11. voice and data traffic.  The standard 2B+D interface is used which will
  12. support two 64 Kbps B-channels and one 16 Kbps D-channel.  The Single Line
  13. ISDN service is for those users who may not be CentraNet customers but
  14. require digital featurephone capabilities integrated with data capabilities
  15. or who may only require one ISDN-BRI line for their data needs.

  17. Key technical capabilities of ISDN-BRI include:
  18.  
  19. -     End-to-end digital transmission
  20. -     Up to eight ISDN terminals on a single ISDN basic rate interface (BRI)
  21.       line.
  22. -     Circuit-switched B channel data at speeds up to 64 Kbps.  Standard rate
  23.       adaption (V.120) for sub-64 Kbps speeds.
  24. -     Packet-switched data over B or D channels.  B channel up to 64 Kbps.
  25.       D channel at 9.6 Kbps.
  26. -     X.25 packet multiplexing over B channels; i.e., multiple virtual D
  27.       packet sessions on a single B channel.
  28. -     Calling party number delivery on incoming calls.  This is the basis
  29.       for current inbound telemarketing applications using ISDN (PRI).
  30. -     Dynamic service selection over B channels.  This powerful capability
  31.       can result in significant savings over conventional non-PRI trunking.
  32. -     Out-of-band D channel signaling.  This provides a very powerful and
  33.       flexible mechanism for call control, network management, security, etc.
  34. -     Electronic key system functionality.
  35. -     Can be interconnected with Switched Data, Data Path, and other carriers'
  36.       switched data services at 56 kbps speed.
