CENTRANET-INSTANT CALL ACCOUNTING (ICA)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
CentraNet-ICA, formerly known as Instant Call Accounting, Real-Time Station
Message Detail Recording (SMDR), is an enhancement to CentraNet (Centrex)
which gives customers more flexibility and helps them to manage their
businesses more efficiently. Raw, unrated, unformatted customer station
detail is collected and transferred to equipment on the customer's premises
on a near real-time basis. The customer is required to have a call
accounting system to access the information and rate/format internal reports.
Station detail information helps the customer to specifically allocate costs
to departments and control telecommunication expenses.
The Station Message Detail Recording (SMDR) features provide a business
customer with individual call records. A call record contains basic
information such as the date, time, calling number, called number, call
duration, and account code detail that is useful for departmental billing,
project billing and abuse detection. Types of call to be captured include:
toll, local measured, FX, WATS, and private network. GTE will NOT
capture station-to-station or incoming calls.
GTE provides business customers MDR over a direct output data link, on a
near real-time basis, dial-in, or MDR-to-9-track tape drive. (Direct MDR
output will require a 4-wire private line and pair of private line modems for
the asynchronous data link.)
Instant Call Accounting will allow customers to receive only raw,
unformatted, unrated SMDR data. Customers will be required to provide their
own CPE call accounting system to rate and report SMDR data. Incoming calls,
station-to-station calls, or local calls (except in measured service areas)
are not included in this offering.
APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Bill back charges to customer/client
- Deter telephone abuse by employees
- Allocate cost to appropriate cost center, budget, department, etc.
- Helps customer in:
Monitoring office productivity
Evaluating calling patterns
Examining traffic on a trunking facility
