The Outdoor Ganja Growers Guide
By : Hashish
I. GETTING THE SEEDS
-------------------------------------------------------
Ok.. the first thing you will need to do is get some good seeds.
Also it is best to have alot of seeds.. So basically what you need
to do is when your stoner friends are breaking up bags and shit,
ask them if you can have the seeds (making sure it's good shit).
Or, just take the seeds out of the kindest buds you've been smoking..
II. LOCATING YOUR GROWING AREA
-------------------------------------------------------
Now that you have the seeds, you need to locate your growing area. I
Would reccomend an area that is undeveloped and make sure people don't
go back there on nature hikes and other bullshit. once you've located
the woods you want to grow in, you will want to find a spot where you
can look striaght up, and there is no (or hardly) trees or anything that
would deprive your plants of the sun they need. Also make SURE that people
won't notice your spot.. It needs to be well hidden.
III. CHOOSING YOUR GROWING MEDIUM
-------------------------------------------------------
Now you need to decide whether you will use potting soil, topsoil, regular
dirt, etc. If you can, possibly, get potting soil, with a mixture of
fertilizer and or cow manure. Try to buy the best brand you can possibly
afford, but remember, a 40lb bag of potting soil (around 2 to 10$ depending
on the quality) will only support around 2 or 3 full size plants. Therefore,
it is much more cost-wise to use the regular soil in the woods, but it will
make your plants not grow as fast and be as healthy as the would with
store-bought shit. But sometimes, in the natural soil, the roots will grow
out more and your plant will grow bigger.
IV. PLANTING
-------------------------------------------------------
Planting should start around early April for the biggest plants, but you
could start as late as July or August if you have to.
First you will need to decide whether you are going to go with pots (buckets
are great too) or just in the ground. The advantage to the bucket is that
you can move your plants if the need arises. If you use the regular ground,
and you want to move your plants, it's too late unless they are still babies
One good thing to do is dig a hole and put the bucket in it. one disadvantage
of using a bucket is that if someone passing by (hiker, bird watcher) happens
to see it, they will instantly know what you are doing. If they see it in the
ground, they might not be able to tell it at all. Ok now you need to bring
water (about 1 liter per 2'x 2' hole) now water your soil you are going to
grow in. Then you need to plant each good seed about a 1/2 inch deep pointed
end UP. Make sure you cover the seeds up once you plant them. I would
suggest planting 5 for 1 plant you plan to have
V. WATERING
-------------------------------------------------------
Go back to your spot 5 to 7 days after you planted. Bring some water with you.
You can't water your plants near as much as you did when you were planting.
Just use a around 6 fluid oz. of water per bucket or hole. Only water if it
has not been raining for around 4 days, and/or the soil is very dry. If you
are going to use fertilizer that you mix with the water, use only about 1/2
the amount it says to use.
VI. PRUNING
-------------------------------------------------------
Once your plants are about 1 1/2 to 2 foot tall, and have a couple sets of
leaves, it's time to top them. To do this you need scissors or an x-acto
blade or a knife. Just take the top 2 to 3 inches off, including the top leaf
set. In a week or so, your plants should start branching off at the top into
a 'Y' shape. To make it branch even more, trim the NEW growth tips in about
2 weeks. Both of these are optional, but, it will greatly increase your max.
yield (more branches, more buds).
VII. CLONING
--------------------------------------------------------
If you want to clone your plants, go to your local nursery or whatever, and tell
them you want to clone your japenese maple or something like that. Buy a cloning
tray and the shit to go with it. Cut a branch off your plant and put a like 1/12
inches of it in the water with the nutrients in it. While underwater, trim the 1/2
inch off at a diagonal angle. Let it sit in the tray for about 5 days, and when roots
start coming out at the bottom, plant it. Doing this can increase your yield alot.
VIII. FLOWERING
----------------------------------------------------------
Around September, the nights should be getting longer, and your plants will start
flowering. You can force them to flower earlier by putting a black cloth over them
a couple hours before dark, and leave it until a couple hours after the sun rises.
You need to do this for 1 or 2 weeks until you see signs of flowering. You could
also just move them to a shady area, but they have to be mature plants. They need
to be about 2 feet tall before they can flower.
IX. REMOVING MALES (SINSEMILLA)
-------------------------------------------------------------
If you want some kind sinse buds, you have to remove all the males. Males
flower first and you will see
little seed pockets on them. You should either move them
FAR away or just dispose of them (far away too).
If they happen to be close to your
flowering females, they will make the buds
almost ALL seed, so remember, you
HAVE to move or get rid of them. Sinsemilla (seedless
) bud is much kinder and
you can sell it for more than commercial price.
X. BUDDING
---------------------------------------------------------------
Awile after your plants start to flower, they will start to develop buds.
If you want, you can trim a little off, but make sure not to take much and
leave a little bud where you clipped so it will grow back.
XI. HARVESTING
--------------------------------------------------------------
Once your buds look like they are not
growing much, and look mature, it's time
to harvest. You could cut the plant and dry the whole thing,
or you could leave
a little bit and see if it will
grow back. it usually will if you left enough
bud, and it is not already freezing (harvest should take place in Oct or early
Nov.) If it is only Oct. and you
don't live in a cold climate you could harvest
probably around 3 times, but
less buds each time. Around this time is when the cops
and dope fiends will be looking for your crop,
so be very careful and take less
visits to the site.
