Here are my choices of liquor, for the various styles and purposes of drinking.
Also remember this following saying "liquor before beer, your in the clear, beer
before liquor, you're getting sicker." What this means is that, if you have hard
liquor, drink that first, than drink the beer you have. If you do it the other way
around, and drink enough you will be puking your brains out! Also try to stick
with ONE type of liquor if you plan on drinking a lot. Otherwise you are more apt
to mix 2 types that don't go well together, and you will not be happy at the end
of the night.

I have divided the following sections up by the purpose of drinking:

I. Getting Drunk

    Getting drunk is probably the most common reason for teenagers to drink. So
here is how it works. Most people will get a good buzz off of 4 shots of 80-110
proof liquor or about 4-6 beers. Getting drunk of your ass can usually be done by
doubling that. Keep in mind that the lighter you way, the less you have to drink,
and vice versa. After you get drunk a bunch of times, you will usually be able to
gain some more control over your actions. As ageneral rule, hard liquor will allow
you to be more active and have more energy(I have no idea why this is, it just
seems to be the way with my friends and I) to do wild things. If you are drunk off
of beer, you will usually be more laid back and not so eager to get up and do
stupid things(not because you don't want to, just because you are to lazy to). So
if you are in a house or going to a public place where you don't want to be
completely insane, just drink beer, but for a wild time do the hard stuff.

Here are my suggestions for purchasing liquor. Keep one thing in mind, the more
expensive the liquor, usually the finer it is, so you will not be sick in the
morning. I have listed the following in my suggested order of purchasing. I have
divided into 3 sections, A. Hard Liquor, B. Wines, C. Beers and Ales. In
parnethisis I have put the amount of times an average person would get drunk off
that amount of liquor(ie d3 means you can probably get drunk 3 times).

    A. The Fine Hard Stuff
       1. Gold Schlagger - $7.50 Small Bottle(d1), $14.00(d2.5)
       This is my personal favorite. It tastes TREMENDOUSLY GOOD! It is cinnanom
       schnapps and is 107 proof, so it will get you done fast. Don't worry about
       the flakes of gold in it, it doesn't harm you(I hope).

       2. Seagrams 777(or v.o) whiskey. It is extremely smoothe whiskey and is
       around 80-90 proof. If you want to get drunk fast, just do shots of this!

       3. Bacardi 151 Proof Rum. This shit is EXPENSIVE! But at 151 proof and it
       being a brand name, it gets you done QUICKLY! If you like rum this is the
       way to go. You will probably want to mix it with orange juice(or some
       citrus drink), but if you can handle it raw, go for it.

       4. Kahlua. Well this is good stuff, but it is only about 40 proof, and is
       expensive. The advantage is it will be easy to drink.

       5. Tanquery Gin. Although Bombay is probably better gin, I have only had
       Tanguery and have been happy with it. Gin has a high alchoholic content,
       and if you don't like the taste simply mix half gin and half of some sort
       of fruit juice(grapefruit gets rid of most of the alchohol taste), and you
       can get done rather quickly. It is 100 proof.

       6. Jack Daniels Whiskey. This is a mans whiskey, it is harsh yet it will
       not leave you with a bad hangover the next day. At about 80-90 proof it
       is like other whiskeys, and is ideal to use for drinking games(quarters).
       If you like the taste of whiskey just use JD.

     Summary:
         Hard liquors will allow you to have a wild time. The drunken state is more
         intense than being on wine or beer, but you will do dummer things. This is
         good and bad, so just be carefull. Hard liquors also require some sort of
         stomach. In these you can DEFINATELY taste the alchohol, and you should be
         able to stomach it, otherwise you may puke. Cheaper brands of hard liquors
         will get you drunk the same as normal ones, BUT, cheap brands will
         probably get you sick. Also most cheap brands of whiskey, rum, vodka, gin,
         etc. will be HARSH AS SHIT! You should be experienced at drinking if you
         go for them, otherwise you may puke before you even get drunk, just by the
         taste. More expensive brands will usually be smooth, and go down with
         little objection.

    B. Wine

       1. Strawberry Hill & Delicous Apple. These are apple wines, made by Boones
       Vineyard in California, so other states may have other brands. This costs
       about 5 dollars a bottle and is very easy to drink. Those who need a lot
       of alchohol to get drunk may need two bottles. This is supposedly supposed
       to make girls get horny, but since I have never been with a bunch of girls
       on strawberry hill, I wouldn't know.

       2. White or Red Zinfandelle(sorry if I spelled it wrong, I am writing this
       drunk on Kahlua). These are good tasting wines. As with Strawberry hill you
       will probably need a bottle or two to get drunk. Although you can buy cheap
       bottles of zinfandelle for about $2.50. They taste good, and are perfect
       for getting drunk while still on a hangover. They are also supposed to get
       girls horny, I made out with one girl drunk on this, but she still wanted
       me in the morning(although I found I didn't want her :) ), so I will leave
       the test up to you.

       3. Saki(Rice Wine). This is an asian wine that has a definitive taste. Some
       people will find it easy to drink, and others will find it utterly
       disgusting. After a while you can aquire a taste to it. It is roughly 16%
       alchohol(32 proof), yet I have heard tons of people tell me how they get
       "buzzed" off of one glass(by the way, a saki glass is about the size of
       a shot glass, but they don't "shoot it", you sip it). So it is up to you
       to test it out. I have not found it to be as potent as they say, but I
       think it tastes alright, so I drink it for taste more than alchohol.

       4. Plum Wine. This is also an asian wine. It is said to taste absolutely
       delicous! I have not heard of a single person who dislikes the taste. It
       is made out of plums and can be found at just about every store that
       carries a wide selection of wines. I have not had the pleasure to try it,
       yet the weekend after this gets released I plan to get some.

       Summary: Most wines to the in-experienced wine drinkers taste
       basically the same. Wines can be made from just about any fruit imaginable
       so I probably have not covered them all. Try making your own sometime for
       fun. They are usually easy to drink, and have a higher alchoholic content
       than beer, yet a lower alchoholic content than hard liquor. Mainly girls
       will get drunk off them over hard liquor and beer(in my opinion they are
       100% on the right track, yet I still am compelled to drink the hard stuff
       and beer. I guess it is a male thing.) Another thing about wines
       that makes them an attractive choice is that some liquor store owners(
       especially Italians) don't consider them liquor. They will sell it to you
       regardless of your age.


   C. Good old Beer!

      1. Coors Light. This for some odd reason is my favorite tasting beer. It
      takes about 8-10 to get me drunk.  I personally like the taste of this beer
      cold over any other beer, but beer taste is COMPLETELY INDIVIDUAL! This beer
      is in the cheaper-medium range price of beers, so if you like my choices
      above, go for it.

      2. Miller Genuine Draft(MGD). Although I don't find this beer the best
      tasting in the world, it is a fine beer that most people can enjoy. The
      alchoholic content is normal(about 4-6%) so a 6 pack should get you at
      least buzzed.

      3. Ralphs brand "BEER". This beer, although pretty rough(as far as beers
      go) is ideal for the person who wants to get drunk. I think it has around
      a 6.5% alcholic content, which is extremely GOOD for beer. A few of these
      and you will be havin a good old time. And of course the best part is these
      are cheap as all hell!

      4. Bud Ice. This is beer with a high alchohol content. I actually like the
      taste of it, but it is also ideal for those who want to get drunk fast. I
      think it has a 5.5% alchohol rating. This is good for beer, and it tastes
      pretty good. If they don't have Bud Ice, they should have
      Bud Light Ice, I guess they are pretty much the same, except you woln't get
      fat on BLI.

      Summary: I could write an entire file on beers and not even get them all.
      Beers come in a HUGE number of different brands. Usually micro-brewries
      have really good tasting beers. Any beer that is an ice beer will have a
      higher alchohol content than normal beers. Remember that beer has a
      taste that has to be aquired. I HATED beers for my first few times drinking
      them, but after I while I actually like the taste. For more information on
      beers(including making them), get the alt.beer FAQ. Remember also that
      most people have their own tastes in beer. So if you don't like my
      suggestions above, try some other ones. Oh yeah, beer always tastes better
      when it is cold, cold, cold. Unless you have English tastes, in which case
      drink some warm Guiness. Imported beers for the most part are good tasting,
      and most bottled beers are pretty good. Try Newcastle Brown Ale if you want
      to get an imported beer, pretty damn good. Oh and a rule to the newbie,
      DON'T GET KEYSTONE! It is the cheapest, worst tasting, damn beer in the
      entire world!

  D. Malt Liquor(beer, that really isn't beer, that really is, sort of)(aka 40's)

       1. King Cobra. This is a good choice of Malt liquor if you are interested in
       just getting drunk. It doesn't taste as bad as some of the malt liquors, yet
       it still will get you drunk.

       2. Old English 400. This shit is GOOD! This is the only Malt Liquor I
       actually enjoy drinking. It will get you done, but will cost you a couple
       of bucks more to buy.

        3. Magnum 45 and Colt 45. These are HORRIBLE! I absolutely hate the taste of
       these malt liquors, yet as far as getting drunk they are the most econimcal.
       I have seen magnum 45's on sale for $1.25 and you get that extra 5 ounces.

       4. Mickeys. Mickeys is supposedly a good tasting malt liquor, although I have
       never actually enjoyed the taste. So if you don't like OE400 go for the
       mickeys and you may like it.

       Summary: Malt liquors taste like bad beer. Although they aren't really beers,
       they do taste very similiar(see that alt.beer FAQ). A single 40 will usually
       get someone quite buzzed, and 2 will definately get you at least pretty
       drunk. They may taste bad, but at least you can stomach them(which I can't
       always say about cheap hard liquor). Most 40's will cost you about 3 bucks,
       which is the cheapest way to get drunk around. If you can't take the taste
       when they are warm, try them cold and you can usually grin and bear it. I
       sometimes think these were only invented to get you drunk, so I guess you
       should use it for its intended purpose, unless of course you like the shit. I
       have gotten drunk off of 40's over any other liquor(although it may be a tie
       with Whiskey), and have found it a very usefull drink


II. Drinking for flavor

    A. Hard Stuff

    1. Creme de Menthe. This is for all you mint people. Creme de Menthe is a
    soothing, mint drink with a hint of milk. Very good for just sitting back
    and relaxing. Serve cold.

    2. Scotch on the Rocks. If you like straight scotch-whiskey, a good drink is a
    glass full of ice, and a little Scoresby blended scotch-whiskey.

    3. Screwdriver. If you like orange juice, simply mix a little Vodka(Sky or
    Absolute are the best choices), with orange juice, or any other citrus
    juice for that matter.

    Summary: There are a lot of mixed drinks, to many to mention here, let alone
    write out all the ingredients. There are plenty of books in bookstores that
    will give you a good list and mixture recipes of mixed drinks. Just ask them
    where the bartender guides are.

    B. Wine

    Summary: I am not really an avid wine drinker, but if you like wine, finding
    the best is simple. The more expensive it is, the better it is. Good wines
    run in the price range of $50.00 to $250.00 plus.

    C. Beer

    1. Newcastle Ale- This is a good English Ale, good to just sit back and relax
    to. Serve cold.

    2. Guiness - This is a real English beer. It is thick, comes in a small
    bottle(pint?) and is served warm. If you are a brit, or have their tastes
    in beer, go for it.

    3. Miller anything - Miller is a pretty good american beer to just kick back
    with. They are fairly cheap, and taste pretty good. Just serve cold.

    Summary: Most imported beers are pretty good. Although some are just so so.
    For instance Tecate is the Mexican equivalant of Budweiser. But most
    German and English beers are very good. Also beers made in MicroBreweries
    are good choices(try Moose Head Ale).

    D. Malt Liquor

    Summary: Ugh! Most malt liquors are not that good. I don't mind Old English,
    but still don't consider it to taste good. Although some people do enjoy them,
    so it is a preference thing
