How to Crack Simple Combination Locks
Written by: H.P. Hovercraft
Ever seen those little 6 number rotating locks? They
are most common for locking up bikes, and EXTREMELY easy to
crack. The example I will be using is a 4 digit, 6 number-
rotating lock, but this will work on any lock that even
resembles the one i will show you. OK, the only thing you
need is the IQ of an average vegetable.
Now, we begin. First, try to pull the lock open.
Notice how the rotating thingies move each time you pull?
Basically what's happening is that the latches are grabbing
on to the rotater gadgets, causing them to slightly move.
All you need to do is: turn the numbers until they stop
moving when you try to open the lock. Start with the first
number obviously (if the first number is wrong then all of
the numbers will move). Continue down the line: 2nd, 3rd,
then the 4th. If you got them all right then the lock will
open, if not, then try opening the lock, looking carefully
to make sure NONE of the numbers are moving (some locks make
it difficult by having the rotators closer together making it
harder to notice if the numbers are moving). OK, if you dont
understand what kind of lock i'm talking about, here's a
drawing of the one I stole:
X = a number 1-6
| or = = part of chain

OK, so it's crude, but you should get the point. If you
don't understand the type of lock, then you can reach me at
Hellz Pit 614-890-5970, or on InterNet at khrt56c@prodigy.com.
OK, happy picking!
