GETING STARTED WITH YOUR PROGRAM DISKETTE
Thank You for choosing Reflex Diskette Marketing for your software,
please take a moment to view this on-disk help information. We know
your excited and want to use this program right away, but these help
files will get you up and running very quickly !.
To view these help files use the PgUp and PgDn keys located on your
computer keyboard console. These keys will allow you to view one
page at a time. The arrow keys (also located on your keyboard) will
allow you to view the lines ONE at a time.
FIRST THINGS FIRST
Make a backup copy of your Reflex Diskette BEFORE you start. This
will save you a lot of trouble if you make a mistake. Put your
Reflex Diskette in drive A: and a blank diskette in drive B:. Type
Diskcopy A: B: and DOS will make a copy for you. When you are finished
put your Reflex Diskette away and use the copy you made as the program
diskette.
HOW DO I START THE DISKETTE PROGRAM ??
Place your Reflex Diskette in your working drive, using the DOS DIR
command to view the diskette files. Any files with the extensions
.EXE, .COM, or .BAT can be started directly from DOS.
EXAMPLE: File Name = REFLEX.EXE
At the prompt A:> type in your file name; REFLEX.EXE and the program
should start right up. The same would go for REFLEX.COM or REFLEX.BAT.
If the file extension is .BAS you will need to load in the BASIC
interpreter BEFORE you can use the program. The BASIC interpreter is
found on your DOS diskettes that are used with your computer. If you
are unfamiliar with the BASIC language commands and our help files
are not enough, please consult your operating system manual for the
information you need.
WHAT DOES THE .DOC FILE EXTENSION MEAN ??
Most of the Reflex Diskettes contain manuals that may be viewed or
printed out. Files with the file extension of .DOC, .TXT, or .ME,
and other similar names are ASCII text files that may be read by
your favorite word processor or captured direct to your printer.
EXAMPLE: File Name = REFLEX.DOC
Load your word processor and when asked for the file name type
in REFLEX.DOC and you can read the documents on your computer screen.
To print this same file to your lineprinter, at the DOS prompt
the command would look like this: copy REFLEX.DOC Prn . Be sure you
have enough paper in your printer as some of these manuals have a
lot of pages to be printed. It is possible with a page condensing
program such as DOCSMASH to print 4 pages of text on a single page
and save yourself a lot of paper. For further information contact
our order department and request a product catalog which lists all
available program titles and new release information.
MY DISKETTE IS BAD OR WON'T RUN
If you receive the message " Bad Command or File Name" this is NOT
a disk or program error. Please be sure you that you typed the right
file name with a file extension that will run from DOS.
If the program locks up your machine, please read the instructions
for that program to verify you have the right memory requirements,
and/or graphics screen requirements. If you continue to have a
problem and the program still locks up, you may have a software
compatibility problem. Please feel free to contact us for support
help. If the program should request a file that is not available,
this rarely happens but please contact us for a replacement. If your
Reflex Diskette has diskette files with an archive extension please
contact our order department for a utility program to un-archive these
files. Some of the archive file extensions currently used are: .ARC,
.ZIP, .ARCA, .ARCE .
