     I don't know how many times it has been said that MTV is
turning children into zombies who sit around on the couch eating
potato chips. However, what it is doing is even more scary. It is
brainwashing the youth of today with the bullshit they pump out 24
hours a day. Why does MTV do this? Money.
     Is anyone completely sick of MTV besides myself? Being that I
am at the right age (18) where I have seen it go through changes,
I have become very disgusted with MTV in general.
     The first thing that has really started to bother me about MTV
is their god damned drug references now that all of a sudden it is
cool to use drugs again. Does anyone remember those stupid RAD
(Rock Against Drugs) commercials which used to be shown on MTV?
They had all of these bands coming out giving public service
announcements about how drugs were "bad." Now it is a whole
different thing. According to MTV it is "The Year of the Buzz."
On MTV, we can now watch videos by alternative (How I hate that
label) bands, which are considered to be the druggies/hippies of
the '90s, in "Buzz" clips. Hmmm, can we get anymore specific with
drug references? Sure we can! We can watch videos by The Breeders
and such on MTV and "Enjoy the head trip!" This is the shit that is
pissing me off. All of a sudden MTV has discovered that they can
attract a larger audience by being hip to the drug scene rather
than against it. Thus, they get more money from advertisers, etc.,
etc. This cannot be denied either. I don't know how long it has
been since I have seen anti-drug propaganda on MTV. Everything is
this Buzz Clip shit now which is completely hypocritical of MTV and
an attempt to try and market us.
     Secondly, I am tired of listening to MTV pat themselves on
their self-righteous backs over the fucking Presidential election.
MTV has basically taken all the credit for the youth turnout at the
last presidential election. This is also bullshit! Did MTV ever
stop to think for a moment that the youth of this country might
actually give a shit about what is going on in the government? No.
The turnout at the election can be linked to the fact that the
youth of this country were simply tired of a 12 year right wing
rule and did not want to make it a 16 year one. This bullshit about
MTV getting kids to vote has pissed me off because it shows that
those corporate fuckers at MTV have labeled us as idiots which need
to be pushed into movement. It is stupid for us to believe they
pushed the youth of this country into action since all the election
bullshit was done to make money. MTV doesn't really give a fuck if
you vote, they just want you to watch their channel and yet at the
same time they have taken credit for the fact that their was a
large youth vote. What a bunch of assholes.
     Also, the Politically Correctness of MTV is truly disgusting.
For example, I recently saw the Rage Against the Machine (great
band. It's a shame they now belong to MTV) "Freedom" in which the
word "Shit" is not beeped out. Yet at the same time you can't even
hear "damn" on a Rap video because of the heat it will cause among
the P.C. college fucks! This is once again done on a money basis.
It seems that Rage Against the Machine is loved by the P.C. college
gestapo and the fact that they say "shit" is ok because it is
trying to get a point across. Sure... But the real reason is that
MTV knows that the Mind-Fucked P.C. Zombies will like to hear that
and thus MTV will attract a larger audience and make more money.
Now I don;t believe in ANY form of censorship at all. The only
reason I bast MTV for not censoring Rage Against the Machine is
because they are censoring everyone else for saying words you can
hear on Prime Time.
     The other part of MTV which was affected due to their P.C.
Please-All attitude is the true waste-of-a-half-hour show "Beavis
and Butthead." Sure, I thought it was amusing at first, but that
was before they changed it. It was this whole "Fire" crap that
shows how these assholes work. Some kid apparently torches his
trailer and MTV gets blamed. Now, I have seen the stupid T-Shirts
they sell that say "Censorship is Un-American" and crap but then
what is this? They censor a cartoon which was stupid to begin with
and is now just boring while at the same time they censor their
videos. How stupid can you get? Not allowing the word "Fire" to be
used on Beavis and Butthead is the most ridiculous thing I've seen
them do yet. But, if we hear the word "fire" on MTV we might just
want to start one just as Mortal Kombat might make us want to tear
each other's hearts out.
     The fact that MTV claims to be an unbiased NEWS source is also
a joke. When I see Kurt Loder or Tabytha Soren's face pop up on the
TV it just fills me with disgust. The one example I would like to
use on their biased views was their hatchet job on Skin Heads.
Those to MTV SNOOZ jerks did this little program on Skin Heads in
the world and portrayed them as all racists. We did not see any
interviews with any SHARP (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice) or
Straight Edge (an Anti-Drug/Sex/anything damaging group of Skin
Heads) Skin Heads on this supposedly unbiased, truthful NEWS
Special. If MTV so against racism and prejudiced then why would
they let their ignorance affect a story which people in this
country could have learned from? Simple, the MTV crowd would not be
interested in gaining respect for any Skin Heads and thus MTV would
not attract any viewers and might get some shit for doing the
piece. As a result, MTV only interviews White Power/Nazi Skin Heads
which give the entire MTV crowd the idea that ALL Skin Heads are
racist. MTV condemns people for being bigots and ignorant and yet
at the same time they have created bigotry and hate towards certain
Skin Heads that don't deserve ANY of it due to the ignorance of
MTV. DO SOME FUCKING RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GO SHOOTING YOUR MOUTHS!
Now, contrary to what you might think after reading this
paragraph, I am NOT a Skin Head. I hate White Power Skins and have
had many problems with them before. I am hardly straight-edge and
I'm not a member of the SHARP faction either but I don't condemn
them for being Skin Heads because they are actually GOOD people
trying to deal with the fucked up society which we live in today
and it is disgusting that MTV would go and shit all over their
cause by portraying them as violent racists!
     Also, it is truly disgusting how much of a hold MTV has on the
Music Industry. Anything that MTV wants to sell will! This is truly
sad. It was also MTV that brought us the lovely category of
"Grunge" music. "Grunge" is not music! "Grunge" is something that
you would find under your fingernails or between your toes! To
label music as "Grunge" is an insult to the artists in the band.
And then we were brought the whole Grunge Look by MTV. This is also
disgusting because now we get to witness the breed of people who
think that flannel shirts, Doc Martins, and a taste for music from
Seattle are necessary to be a true listener of "Alternative" or
"Grunge" music. Why does MTV do this? Trends sell. They don't care
how it will effect a scene.
     Finally, the most comical of all stunts is that MTV is trying
to move into the computer underground. That's right! First we have
Billy Idol and his "Cyberpunk" album and now MTV actually has an
address on Internet. MTV does not belong here. We do not need MTV
to start making a market out of the H/P/A/V scene. MTV also thinks
that this Information Super-Highway is a great thing when they
don't even realize it may mark the end of the Computer
Underground, especially on Internet. Finally, it would be a shame
to see MTV do a SNEWS Special on Hackers when it is obvious that,
after their Skin Head piece, they would be one sided in their views
and would not have the knowledge to do an accurate NEWS piece which
would be damaging to the hacking scene whether it was in support or
against Hackers (Though it is hard to believe that MTV would be
willing to take the heat for condoning hacking).
     The solution is simple, stop watching MTV and by all means
give them some shit at their Internet site for any of the topics
mentioned above and anything else you can think of. I believe their
Internet address is [e-mail] . Also, don't let yourself fall a
slave to the Politically Correct bullshit that MTV and some of the
college snobs are so busily trying to force on everybody. This
country needs people to think for themselves and to conform to the
beliefs of people who think they are non-conformists. I am sure I
will receive some shit for writing this but if you don't like what
I've said and take it offensively because you are one of the P.C.,
Mind-Fucked, Snobby, Stupid, Assholes then go fuck yourselves! Feel
free to leave me any hate mail or whatever because you have no
ammunition against me. I am not a racist or sexist and I don't
FORCE FEED my beliefs down anyone's throat like you do. Also, if you
are a bigot, sexist, or some other freak who likes to oppress people
on a basis of their belief or birth then leave me the fuck alone!
Don't think after reading this that I believe in whatever fucked
up cause you are in because I am not into that shit either. I am
just a person who is trying to mind my own business and is sick of
the ignorant telling me what to think and do. You may also feel free
to leave me hate mail on TEKAT.
        I'd like to end this text with MTV's own words. "Free your mind!"
Don't let any of these assholes tell you how to live and keep them out of our
scene. At least in the Computer Underground I know that my mind IS
free to think and the last thing we need is the "Mind-Fucked"
preaching "Free your mind" to start annoying us in our scene when
it is obvious that they are only trying to shackle our minds.
