  5. "...every phenomenon in existence is
  6. linked directly or indirectly to every
  7. other one, past, present, or future;
  8. perceived separations between phenomena
  9. are based on incomplete sensing and/or
  10. thinking; 'All is One'."  (Bonewits,
  11. REAL MAGIC).  Modern science, as almost
  12. always, comes around to confirm the
  13. occultist's point of view.  In Quantum
  14. theory, Bell's theorem indicates that
  15. once two particles interact, they
  16. continue to influence one-another. 
  17. Since at the Big Bang everything
  18. interacted, every particle in the
  19. Universe affects every other.  And this
  20. influence is independent of time. 
  21. Recent experimental work (the Aspect
  22. experiment) has confirmed Bell's
  23. theorem.  So, it seems All really is
  24. One.

  26. Law of Peversity
  27. A final law catalogued by Bonewits is
  28. the Law of Perversity.  This is
  29. Finagle's or Murphy's Law:  "If
  30. anything can possibly go wrong, it
  31. will."  Bonewits suggests that this may
  32. be due to countermagic done by your
  33. subconscious mind for whatever devious
  34. reasons of its own.  I disagree.  I
  35. believe this law reflects a basic
  36. perversity in the structure of the
  37. Universe.  Perhaps it is related to
  38. entropy.  This law and its derivatives
  39. strike us funny because THEY ARE SO
  40. TRUE.  Drop a piece of buttered toast
  41. and see which side lands on the carpet.
