  10.               CULT DANGER EVALUATION FRAME
  11.               ----------------------------
  12. This a quick reference system to evaluate wether a group should be
  13. avoided personally as being a cult. Basically you rate a group/religion
  14. on the basis of some simple criteria, giving a range of 1-10, with
  15. 1 being low and 10 being high. Those with the highest scores are
  16. best avoided.....
  17.  
  18. 1) INTERNAL CONTROL. Amount of internal political power exercised by
  19.    leader(s) over members.
  20.  
  21. 2) WISDOM CLAIMED. by leader(s); amount of infallibility declared
  22.    about decisions.
  23.  
  24. 3) WISDOM CREDITED. to Leader(s) by members; amount of trust in the
  25.    decisions made by the leader.
  26.  
  27. 4) DOGMA. Ridgidity of reality concepts taught; amount of doctrinal
  28.    inflexability.
  29.  
  30. 5) RECRUITING. Emphasis put on attracting new members; amount of
  31.    proselytizing.
  32.  
  33. 6) FRONT GROUPS. Number of subsidiary groups using different names
  34.    from that of main group.
  35.  
  36. 7) WEALTH. amount of money and/or property desired or obtained;
  37.    emphasis on members donations.
  38.  
  39. 8) POLITICAL POWER amount of external political influence desired
  40.    or obtained.
  41.  
  42. 9) SEXUAL MANIPULATION of members by leader(s) amount of control
  43.    over sex lives of members.
  44.  
  45. 10)CENSORSHIP. amount of control over member's access to outside
  46.    opinions on group, its doctrines or leader(s).
  47.  
  48. 11)DROPOUT CONTROL. Intesity of efforts directed at preventing or
  49.    returning dropouts.
  50.  
  51. 12)ENDORSEMENT OF VIOLENCE when used by or for the group or its
  52.    leader(s).

  54. 13)PARANOIA. Amount of fear concerning real or imagines enemies,
  55.    perceived power of opponents.
  56.  
  57. 14)GRIMNESS. AMount of disapproval concerning jokes about the
  58.    group, its doctrines or leader(s).

  62. Basically its best to avoid any group that rates higher than say
  63. a 70, as it is almost for sure a cult. My own personal Opinions 
  64. (Joe Teller's) is the following scores for some groups and religions:

  67.      ADF                    :  25
  68.      Catholic Church        :  89
  69.      Discordianism          :  17

  71. Yes, I'd rate the Catholics that high on the cult scale, since they
  72. heavily try to interfere with their memberships sex lives, extreme
  73. dogmatism, extreme faith in leaders, Grimness etc......

  75.    Now, how does the organization(s) you've belonged to and faiths
  76. rate on the scale? Inquiring minds want to know!!!
