  2. BOTANICAL NAME : Alstonia Scholaris
  3. SYNONYMS       : Dita, Bitter bark, devil's tree,
  4.                  Pale mara, chhatim (India)
  5. LOCALES FOUND  : Eastern Asia, India, Philippines,
  6.                   Ceylon, Borneo. (Tropical rainForest)

  8. Alstonia causes minor irritation of the genitals, in the
  9. male it prolongs erection and delays orgasm, acting as
  10. a general tonic & mild stimulant for the nerves and
  11. circlulation. Except for use as an Aphrodisiac, it seems
  12. to have no medicinal values.

  14. CAUTIONS : Chlorogenic Acid, the primary active ingredient,
  15.            is a universal allergen and acts as a bladder
  16.            irritant.

  18. Alstonia is usually prepared by crushing two grams of
  19. the seeds and soaking them in two ounces of water overnight.
  20. The following day the Liquid is strained and drunk to
  21. produce the desired effect within a short period of time.
  22. The body does build up a tolerance to this herb over time,
  23. causing a need to increase the doseage over a period of
  24. time. Caution is advised against over useage of this herb
  25. in any short period of time.
