  8. A "seymour", in terms of taxonomy, is a canine retriever.  In the not
  9. distant future, the citizens of Maryland will associate "Seymour" with
  10. "information retriever."  For now, this "puppy" provides users with an
  11. idea of what the future of electronic information retrieval may hold.

  13. Seymour is the name chosen for the state-wide effort to develop an
  14. electronic infrastructure that will connect Maryland libraries, their
  15. users and ultimately any resident of Maryland to information resources
  16. within and beyond the state.

  19. Services, Maryland State Department of Education.
