- The Center for Biological Timing was established as a Science and
- Technology Center by the National Science Foundation in 1991. It
- combines the investigative efforts from the University of Virginia,
- Northwestern University and Rockefeller University to study various
- aspects of biological timing.
- The Center studies the internal timing mechanisms which control cycles
- of sleep and waking, hormone pulsatility, neuronal excitability and
- reproductive rhythmicity. Investigators are involved with research from
- behavioral testing to molecular genetics.
