  15. The Center for Biological Timing was established as a Science and
  16. Technology Center by the National Science Foundation in 1991.  It
  17. combines the investigative efforts from the University of Virginia,
  18. Northwestern University and Rockefeller University to study various
  19. aspects of biological timing.
  20. The Center studies the internal timing mechanisms which control cycles
  21. of sleep and waking, hormone pulsatility, neuronal excitability and
  22. reproductive rhythmicity.  Investigators are involved with research from
  23. behavioral testing to molecular genetics.
