  18. Here is a brief summary of the more useful commands.  Un*x people will
  19. find a fairly large set of commands in /bin.

  21.         scanfor thing   try and find if thing is in the archive
  22.         note            send a note to the archive maintainers
  23.         cat files       print files to the terminal without paging
  24.         cd directory    change directory
  25.         grep string files       look for string in files
  26.         help            give some kind of help
  27.         kermit          a simple file transfer program
  28.         ls              list the files available in the current directory
  29.         ls -l           long listing
  30.         more files      print a file to the terminal with paging
  31.         pwd             print the current directory path name
  32.         stty            change terminal modes
  33.                         stty echo               turn on echo
  34.                         stty noecho             turn off echo
  35.         sum             4.2 BSD compatiable checksum generator.
  36.         uncompress      uncompress a file (uncompress < file)
  37.         zmore files     uncompress and list a file thru more
  38.         split           break a text file up into chunks
  39.         bsplit          break up a binary file into chunks
  40.         tar             standard unix tape archiver
  41.         atob            ascii-to-binary < filein > fileout
  42.         btoa            binary-to-ascii < filein > fileout
  43.         uuencode        standard unix binary to text conversion
  44.         uudecode        standard unix text to binary conversion
  45.         arc             common P archiver program
  46.         unzip           de-archive zip'd archives
  47.         man             print out manual pages (only a few available)
