  7. Welcome to the IAMSLIC/CYAMUS Union List of Serials

  9. This is a test file of serials holdings from several institutions, some
  10. of whose records were downloaded from the Melvyl Library System without
  11. explicit permission for their inclusion, so please treat this only as a
  12. sample, not as an authoritative listing.

  14. As of June 1, 1992, the test database contains about 15,700 records from
  15. the following institutions:

  31. The search interface runs on a software package called PixTex and is
  32. very uneven in its ease of use.  Before you can search a file, you first
  33. must select an "index" that includes the union list database.  The
  34. default search protocols use fuzzy matching rather than normal indexing
  35. to retrieve records, which means that many of your usual boolean search
  36. habits may not apply.
