  8. The CONSER file is a subset of the authenticated MARC CONSER file. It
  9. contains approximately 220,000 bibliographic records for serials that
  10. were coded  c  (current) in byte 6 of the 008 field. Update tapes
  11. containing new records and changes are processed monthly. The records
  12. are cataloged using the same indexing rules that are applied to the CARL
  13. bibliographic files. Libraries may access this file for downloading
  14. bibliographic records through CARL Serials Control.
