  5. When you see the VM 370 logo, clear it, and instead of logging on, enter
  6. pnn (case does not matter). Clear the information screen that appears
  7. (after reading it carefully of course) and you'll be in PNN.
  8.  
  9. PNN is a full-screen VM/CMS based system (the public version is slightly
  10. restricted). In the near future UNIX and HyperCard version will be
  11. available. PNN VM/CMS is available free on an as-is basis.

  15. Welcome to Public PNN: PNN, the Princeton News Network, contains a wide 
  16. variety of documents about University activities, courses, and 
  17. resources.  It is available as 'public PNN' (which you are using now), 
  18. and as 'CMS PNN' for those with IBM 3081 mainframe computing userids.  
  19. There is no charge to users of public PNN.
  20.  
  21. Some services are not available when you use public PNN.  Although you 
  22. will see it on the PNN menu, you cannot use the campus phone directory 
  23. from public PNN.  The OUTPUT command is also disabled. To use these 
  24. services, you must use PNN from a mainframe userid. (University faculty, 
  25. staff, and students are eligible for STUDY accounts on the mainframe;  
  26. call 258-6000 for more information.)

  28. If you do not use PNN actively for more than 15 minutes, your public PNN 
  29. session will terminated.

  31. To begin using PNN, press the Return or Enter key, and then follow the 
  32. instructions displayed on the screen.
