Configuring the UDS TA120 for TBBS BBS
--------------------------------------
The UDS TA120 is an ISDN Terminal Adapter capable of transport speeds
up to 57600 bps asynchronous speed over ISDN (among other capabilities).
This describes how to configure the TA120 and the TBBS software to make
it work in a BBS application.
TA120 Settings
--------------
Use the control buttons on the front of the TA120 to adjust to the
settings described below.
The following settings apply to ISDN lines from a DMS-100 central
office switch.
Switch = DMS 100
B1 = CS
B2 = CS
Protocol = Clear
Auto ans = on
Synchronous mode = 1
Bit rate = (irrelevant -- unit will adjust to correct speed)
Word length = 8
Parity = none
Stop bits = 1
DTE commands = on
Commands = AT
Change S Reg Configuration (Don't change)
Adaptive mode = on
EC Dis Ton = off
ISDN speed = 56 kbps
Originate = normal
Answer = normal
Voice Options for B Channel
---------------------------
3 Way FA = 000
Drop FA = 000
TA tone generator = on
Voice Options for D Channel
---------------------------
Voice TEI = auto
SPID = (ask your phone company rep, usually the 10 digit phone
number plus a two digit suffix like 01) For example:
555555123401
DN = (ask your phone company rep, usually the 7 digit phone number)
For example: 5551234
D Channel Data Options
----------------------
Data TEI = auto
SPID = (ask your phone company rep, usually the 10 digit phone
number plus a two digit suffix like 01) For example:
555555123401
DN = (ask your phone company rep, usually the 7 digit phone number)
For example: 5551234
TBBS Settings
-------------
Use TBBSs CEDIT.exe program to configure the ISDN line to these settings:
Type in a new modem name: UDS TA120
Hard wired = N
Half Dublex = N
Only 7 bit data = N
RTS/CTS flow control = Y
Type = 3
Speed = 57600
Port = locked
Precondition string: AT&F
Init: AT\Q3\N3&D2&C1V1
Result codes:
57600 = CONNECT 57600
38400 = CONNECT 38400
19200 = CONNECT 19200
9600 = CONNECT 9600
(Note: The V1 code in the init string sets the TA120 to give long
result codes. Numerical result codes may not work.)
