USTAT - User Statistics Ver 3.00 for RemoteAccess
===================================================
DISCLAIMER:
While reasonable care has been taken in creating this program,
no warranty is made that it will perform the way you would like.
You (and not the author) are responsible for any problems
occurring by the use of this program. If you cannot accept this
responsibility, do not run this program. However, if you should
run across a problem, please contact the author so that it may
be possible to fix the problem (see note at end about info on
contacting the author). As with any program, bugs are possible
even though the product has been tested. To protect against
this, you should be making regular backups.
This package is supplied as shareware and no warranty is
implied or expressed in any way. This program is used at your
own risk although every effort has been made to ensure it will
work on all systems. The only thing I do guarantee is that it
will take up disk space. I cannot be held responsible if the
program trashes your user file.
You have a four week evaluation period to try out the package
and if you like it and wish to continue using it please fill in
the registration form and send it to the address thereon with
the registration fee of R20.00. You will then be sent your
registration key for the use of the program. This will remove
the UNREGISTERED message from the display files. It will also
enable the creation of AVATAR screens. The unregistered version
will only create ANSI and ASCII screens.
The use of this program is very simple. Just insert the program
name into your nightly maintenance routine batch file along
with the command line parameters (the number of users you wish
to display and your registration key - if you have a registered
copy). The maximum number of users that can be processed is
1200. The program is quite memory hungry. I accepted this as a
spinoff for speed.
eg. : USTAT 5 for 5 users to be listed
USTAT 10 for 10 users to be listed
The files created are as follows:-
BEST-UF.ANS/ASC/AVT Best Uploader - Files
BEST-UK.ANS/ASC/AVT Best Uploader - Kb
BEST-DF.ANS/ASC/AVT Best Downloader - Files
BEST-DK.ANS/ASC/AVT Best Downloader - Kb
BEST-CAL.ANS/ASC/AVT Best Caller
BEST-MES.ANS/ASC/AVT Best Message writer
All these files can be displayed as a menu option using Menu
type 45. If you want to, you make use of the included menu
(TOPUSERS.MNU) to display the files created. Just insert a line
in one of your existing menu, that does a GOSUB TopUsers. The 6
files will be displayed one after the other, and you will be
returned to your calling menu.
Ustat Requires the following Files to Operate.
CONFIG.RA UStat takes most of it's parameters from here.
USERS.BBS This is where the info comes from.
These files do not have to be in the current directory. UStat
uses the environment Variable "RA" to find CONFIG.RA. From here
it gets all other information needed to read USERS.BBS and
write the text files.

VERSION INFO
1.00 First release - Write ANSI and ASCII screens
1.01 Made some modifications as per user requests: Renaldo
Rheeder (PE Technikon BBS) suggested I change the
"WORST Downloader" to "HIGHEST Downloader", and
indicate that the program is registered. Previously
it would only put the BBS and Sysop name into the
display files when registered.
1.02 Fixed a bug that Oliver Steudler reported. When there
was no backslash (\) at the end of the pathnames to the
messagebase and textfiles directory the program would
complain "Could not open USERS.BBS" and abort. If there
was no backslash on the textfile directory, the program
would do nothing.
2.00 Added creation of AVATAR screens in registered mode only.
2.01 Fixed a small bug where ANSI codes would be written to the
Avatar File.
2.50ß This is a beta Release for those Sysops that have already
changed over to RA 2.01. I could only test this version on
a converted version of 2.01, as I am still running 1.11.
Changes made are:
1) Added RA 2.00 support (I had to remove 1.11 support - a
later version may support 1.11 as well as 2.01.)
2) The files are opened Shareable/Read-Only, so Multiline
systems can run USTAT while other lines are up and
running.
3) Cleaned up some code to optimise it.
4) Show-SysOp and the Hidden Flags are checked, and the
users are only listed if these flags are off.
2.51ß Fixed a small bug, where the Registration sequence number
was not shown on the ASC and AVT screens.
