  28. This PPE was written using PPLC ver 2.  It was written for PCBoard 15.1,
  29. but I believe it will work on just about any version.  It works well on
  30. my system.  If you have problems with it, I will be glad to try and fix
  31. them.  However, I will in no way be held responsible for any damage it
  32. may do to your system.  No warranty is given or implied.  If you don't
  33. agree with this, then erase the program now.
  34.  
  35. This software makes it easy for your users to enter FIDO Netmail and 
  36. Internet E-Mail that has to be routed through a FIDO gateway.  It
  37. takes advantage of QFRONT's Nodelist search capabilities to allow your
  38. users to search, then pick a node to send mail to.  If you don't have
  39. QFRONT (You should get it, it's great!) you can still use this PPE.
  40.  
  41. All future versions of this program will be free for registered users.
  42. Plans include adding an Internet E-Mail directory that people can add 
  43. addresses to on-line, and then search them on-line.
  44.  
  45. The program has been written to support multiple nodes.  Testing was 
  46. done on a 2-node system.  If you run into problems with higher node
  47. counts, be sure to let me know.

  50. INSTALLATION:

  52.  
  53. There are 2 programs you must install, one is installed as a CMD.LST
  54. entry, and the other is installed as a PCBTEXT replacement line.
  55.  
  56.  
  57. Part 1.     Installation of MAILUU.PPE
  58.  
  59. MAILUU.PPE is the program that asks the user what type of mail he wants to 
  60. leave, Internet or FIDO Netmail.  It also allows the user to search through 
  61. the Node List if you use QFRONT.
  62.  
  63. 1. Create a directory to hold all the files. (i.e. MD F:\BASEMAIL)
  64.  
  65. 2. Unzip the files into that subdirectory  (PKUNZIP A:\BMAIL10S F:\BASEMAIL)
  66.  
  67. 3. Edit the MAILUU.CFG file to suit your needs.  A sample CFG file is listed 
  68.    below, and included with this program for you to edit.

  93. You have 3 choices as to where you want to put the command that calls
  94. this PPE.  
  95.  
  96. 1.  If you put the command in the MAIN BOARD CMD.LST file, it will be available
  97.     from your Main Menu as the command NETMAIL.
  98.  
  99. 2.  If you have a NETMAIL conference-specific CMD.LST.  You can put the
  100.     command NETMAIL there.  It will only be available in your NETMAIL
  101.     conference.
  102.  
  103. 3.  If you have a NETMAIL conference-specific CMD.LST, you can put it
  104.     there, AND in your main board conference as well.  This way, it will be 
  105.     available in both places.  If the user types NETMAIL, he is switched
  106.     into your netmail conference.
  107.  
  108. This installation routine will assume that you have both a main CMD.LST file
  109. and a NETMAIL conference CMD.LST.  Follow only the part that is applicable 
  110. to your situation.
  111.  
  112. 4. Go into PCBSETUP, choose option B and then option B again.
  113.  
  114. 5. Cursor down to the line which is the Name/Location of your default CMD.LST
  115.    file.  (Type in a file name and path if one doesn't already exist.)
  116.  
  117. 6. Hit the F2 key to edit the CMD.LST file.
  118.  
  119. 7. Type the Alt-I key combination to insert a line.
  120.  
  121.  
  122.             The line you add should look like this (sorta):

  128. 8. After you are satisfied with your entry, type the ESCAPE key and then
  129.    type Y for SAVE.  Then type the Escape Key twice.
  130.  
  131. 9. Select the J option to join a conference.  PAGE and CURSOR down to your 
  132.    Netmail Conference and hit the enter key.  Then PAGE and CURSOR down to
  133.    the conference specific CMD.LST file.  Do exactly as you did for the
  134.    DEFAULT CMD.LST file.  Then Escape back to the main menu and type Q
  135.    for Quick Save.

  139. You have now installed the first portion of BaseMail.  The second portion
  140. allows your users to use the RE command to reply to messages in the
  141. NETMAIL conference.
  142.  
  143. 1.  Change to the directory that holds your PCBTEXT file.  This is usually
  144.     your PCBoard GEN directory (CD F:\PCB\GEN)
  145.  
  146. 2.  Type MKPCBTXT PCBTEXT.  (Where PCBTEXT is the name of your PCBoard
  147.     TEXT file.)
  148.  
  149. 3.  Hit the F3 key, type 197 and hit the enter key.  Replace the text
  150.     line by typing !F:\BASEMAIL\REPLY.PPE.
  151.  
  152. 4.  Hit the F3 key, type 612 and hit the enter key.  Replace the text
  153.     line by typing !F:\BASEMAIL\REPLY.PPE.
  154.  
  155. 5.  Type the escape key to save and exit.

  157. 6.  Edit the REPLY.CFG file with your personal information.  Here is a sample 
  158.     copy of REPLY.CFG:
