  6.        This 'CHECKOUT' BBS distributes software for the sole purpose  
  7.   of testing prior to purchase.  You've 24 hours to try the software
  8.   and determine that it is worth  purchasing, then you must  destroy
  9.   it.   The  BBS Sysop feels  that it is  unfair to  computer  users
  10.   that they are unable to evaluate software to see if it suits their
  11.   needs.  Many  users have purchased products by the way the program
  12.   'looks' on the box and have been extremely disappointed - and have
  13.   therefore wasted their money and (more important) time.  Nobody in
  14.   their right  mind would purchase a  car  without  test  driving it
  15.   first,  or  for  that  matter...purchase  clothes  without  trying
  16.   them  on, so how  can  software  vendors  expect users to  buy one
  17.   of their products without first testing it?  They will send copies
  18.   of their software to large corporations to test but seem to forget
  19.   there are also other users in the market willing to purchase their
  20.   product if it meets their needs.   This is where this checkout BBS
  21.   comes in.   This program is for evaluation only,  if you like this
  22.   product  then  go  to  your  local computer store and purchase it,
  23.   otherwise PLEASE do not USE or in anyway DISTRIBUTE this  product!
  24.   There are many advantages to purchasing this product including:

  26.   1) Technical Support: Software vendors set  up  technical  support
  27.                         lines  for  the  purpose  of  helping  their
  28.                         registered users get the  most  out  of  the
  29.                         product and help with any bug concerns, etc.
  30.                         It is to your advantage to be  able  to  use
  31.                         this (and the many features of the program).

  33.   2) Manuals:           Manuals are  a  very  important  part  of  a
  34.                         software package.  No book  or text file can
  35.                         replace the  original  manuals,  which  come
  36.                         with the product. This enables  the  user to
  37.                         get the most out of the package,  especially
  38.                         with the very complex programs of today.

  40.   3) Upgrades:          With  buying  the  original program, you are
  41.                         entitled  to  low priced or free upgrades to
  42.                         new versions, bug fixes, and 'enhancements'.

  44.   4) Legality:          Using a program  without owning a registered
  45.                         copy is illegal.

  47.   5) Control Of The     When  companies  who  create  good  products
  48.      Industry:          are  supported,  it  reinforces the need for
  49.                         good products and helps the company continue
  50.                         to create more  quality  products.   On  the
  51.                         other hand, companies who create substandard
  52.                         products have  two  options; either  improve
  53.                         their products or get out of the industry.

  55.   Until  companies come up with a better  way  of  allowing  users  to
  56.   test their products before purchasing, 'checkout' BBSs will continue
  57.   to make available products  for  your  testing.  Companies  recently
  58.   have started to head in this  direction and you can now return  some
  59.   products  to  the  company  if  you  are  not  completely  satisfied
  60.   (Norton, and a few others), but this does not remedy  the  situation
  61.   as the refund/credit takes a long time to get processed and is a BIG
  62.   hassle!   We feel that under the current software industry standards 
  63.   of doing business, that evaluating software releases prior to actual 
  64.   purchase is still the best solution.

  81.    before purchasing it.  Once you have seen what the product is like, either
  82.     purchase the product, or remove it from any and all disks/places of data
  83.   storage.  Also note, that it is ILLEGAL to copy software, and keep the copy,
  84.                           without buying the software.

  86.   Any uploads transfered to the BBS system, are those that the caller chose to
  87. transfer their right and registration to the product to This BBS.
  88.       The uploader takes responsibility for the software, as stated above.
  89.    Since the uploader had transfered the software, and all the rights of the
  90.    software, to the BBS, he chooses them to be made available as demos, to be
  91.    distributed to those under the intention of fully purchasing the software,
  92.    or simply to use as a preview only to be disliked, and therefore removed.

  97.       Pirating refers to the act of keeping computer software that someone
