  24.                          What is Art?
  25.                                 
  26.      Art is any expression through any medium.  It has to have meaning to
  27.  both the artist and the viewer.  Art is an expression of a person's thoughts and
  28.  feelings.  Art has to have meaning to both the artist and the viewer.  Art is
  29.  feeling.
  30.      The artist needs inspiration through stimulation of visual, sonic, and
  31.  mental senses.  The artist has to have an idea and a reason for the art they
  32.  create. Art is never without reason.  The artist has to have inspiration and
  33.  experience to create meaningful art for the viewer.  The viewer decides whether
  34.  art is relevant. 
  35.      A person has to find meaning or feeling from an artists' idea or picture to
  36.  make it art.  Art has to make sense to the viewer for it to be art.  The viewer
  37.  needs to find something out of the artists' ideas if a person expects to ever be
  38.  any kind of innovator or even be remembered as any kind of thinker.
  39.      Art to me is a meaningful expression of  one's thoughts and ideas.  You
  40.  have to have feeling and energy to create art.  The artist needs stimulation to
  41.  have an idea and inspiration to create something meaningful for others.  Art is
  42.  making others feel what you feel and understand what you create.
  43.      A person cannot be an artist if none can appreciate the ideas and pictures
  44.  they are creating.  The ultimate artist can convey their innermost feelings in the
  45.  most abstract ways and have their audience completely understand their ideas
  46.  and thoughts.  
  47.      Abstraction is the key to successful artwork.  If an audience can
  48.  understand an artists' most abstract ideas and pictures it means the artist is
  49.  doing their job.  Abstraction is the key to an artist's work. If a person can
  50.  convey their ideas in an their own ways and others truly understand it they are
  51.  the ultimate artist.  The ultimate artist can express their ideas in any form and
  52.  anyone can understand it.
  53.               The function of art is to show persons an artists feelings.  Art is
  54.  expression of a feeling that is understood by many but is constructed by one. 
  55.  The artist is a conveyer of free thinking and knowledge.
  56.      The viewer has a task to research the artist and their ideas.  Art is often
  57.  hard to understand without some research about the artists moods, the events of
  58.  the time, and the events in the artists life.  Reality creates abstractness. 
  59.  Viewing art is an art in itself.  It can take a lifetime of study to completely
  60.  understand a piece of art and the artists meaning for creating the piece.
  61.      Art can be simple.  Nature is art and it creates art.  The beauty and
  62.  majesty of the mountains is an example of nature being art.  The night sky or a
  63.  sunset are otherwise nature is art.  Driftwood is an example of nature creating
  64.  art.  Even though nature itself may not be a living entity or being by the
  65.  standards of many humans, it gives so much feeling and many perceive it to
  66.  have reason.
  67.      Arts' meaning and even whether it is art is often disagreed upon.  Art is
  68.  different to everyone.  What may be beautiful to someone like a child's crayon
  69.  drawing to their mother is often considered trash to another person.   Some
  70.  great artists often perceive their work as trash as infinitely imperfect while it
  71.  seems flawless to the viewer.  Art has always been controversial and disagreed
  72.  upon and probably always will be.  
  73.      The contravercy and the newness are what make art dynamic and
  74.  exciting.  Art has to continue to change for it to be relevant.  It is hard it get the
  75.  masses involved in an artist with ideas that died soon after they did five hundred
  76.  years ago.  People get excited over new art, they say, "Yes, this is relevant!" 
  77.  Art changes with the world or as some would say the world changes with the
  78.  art.
  79.      Art is about stating ideas whatever the cost of conveying them.  Art can
  80.  be considered tasteless like the painting of The late Chicago mayor Harold
  81.  Washington in his underwear that was displayed in the school of the Chicago
  82.  Art Institute a week after he died of a heart attack.  Robert Maplethorpe's
  83.  photographs showing blatant homosexuality and sexual fetish's were considered
  84.  pornography to many, but others thought they were brilliant displays to shake
  85.  up and rattle mainstream society.  
  86.      Art's most important aspects are controversy, relevant meaning to the
  87.  artist and the viewer, change, and abstractness.  An persons thoughts are often
  88.  abstract so it is only natural for their expression of art to be obscure and
  89.  abstract.  Art is an outlet for humankind's most complex ideas and emotions.
