WELCOME TO THE GUIDE
====================
Welcome to the fourth post of the guide! Not much new in this one. Keep
in mind that these moves should all be treated as unconfirmed, but most
appear to be somewhat accurate. The older fatalities were taken from a
test version and were changed in the official (version 1.0) release.
If you have any additions send mail directly to me and I will include it
in the next guide. Moves and fatalities posted to rec.games.video.arcade
and alt.games.mk will also be incorporated into this guide. Credit will
be given to those who contribute or post moves which are later confirmed.
Unconfirmed moves will be marked with (*) in the future. Unconfirmed
meaning something that I have not done or witnessed first-hand. Once all
the moves and fatalities are confirmed, the guide will cease to be
preliminary, and become the real deal.
This guide will be posted every wednesday until all the moves and
fatalities are discovered. There have been quite a few other moves lists
posted, claiming the moves on the guide don't all work. Keep in mind
that this is posted once a week, and some moves may not be on the latest
revision. Maybe I should start to include an expiration date with each
post. This guide will expire on 12/1/93.

NEW ADDITIONS TO THE GUIDE
==========================
o New format, which is a combination of the original guide and
the original MK FAQ by Lei Wang. Sections added are rumors, basic
definitions (for the fighting game impaired), and contents. Sections
which will be added in the future are specific combos, retaliation,
strategy, story line, and game texts. Once all the moves are in, a mini-
guide will be posted along with the main guide, containing a brief
description on how to execute the moves.
o More moves were added and corrected, and many of the special
moves are now solid and working. The fatalities included in the first
two drafts were only executable on the test versions and were removed.
Known fatalities now are: Jax, Mileena, Baraka, Scorpion, and Cage.
Reptile's fatality is unconfirmed.
o Mileena is now spelled correctly.

RUMORS AND GAME SECRETS
=======================
o New MKII additions include seven new fighters, about four
special moves for each character, and some new basic moves, along with
all new graphics and backgrounds. There are supposedly two fatalities
for each character, and none of the old fatalities were carried over.
Scorpion's new fatality is similar to the old one, but now the skeleton
twitches and explodes.
o Rumors coming out of the AMOA show suggest the possibility of
up to three hidden characters. Kano or Sonya could be one of these
hidden characters, as they are no longer selectable fighters. They were
said to be chained to the background on one of the test versions of MKII,
but were not seen in release versions.
o A rumor suggests that Shang Tsung can turn into Kano. Also,
Shang Tsung can execute all of the fighters fatalities.

BASIC DEFINITIONS
=================
Button names are listed in all caps. While reading through the moves,
the + can be substituted by and, and the - can be substituted by then.
For example, 'two forward - HIGH PUNCH' should be read as 'press the
joystick twice towards the opponent then press HIGH PUNCH'. Another
example, 'LOW PUNCH + BLOCK' should be read as 'press LOW PUNCH and BLOCK
at the same time'.
Forward: press joystick directly towards the opponent.
Back : press joystick directly away from the opponent.
Quarter-Circle Towards: move joystick from the down position to the
forward position then press the button
indicated. (actual movement is down - down to
forward - forward - BUTTON)
Quarter-Circle Away : move joystick from the down position to the away
position and press the button indicated.
(actual movement is down - down to away - away -
BUTTON)
hold BUTTON then release: press and hold the button indicated while your
character charges. when finished charging
release the button. other actions may be
performed while charging.
two down - up: the teleport can also be down by flicking the joystick
down, making the joystick spring up and down.

(Liu Kang will transform into a dragon and bite the victim
in half, leaving the legs standing.)

Hat Throw : back - forward - LOW PUNCH (can be maneuvered in air)
Ground Teleport: two down - up (flick joystick down)
Whirlwind Spin : BLOCK + two up - LOW KICK (hold up)

Low Green Bolt : quarter-circle towards - LOW PUNCH
High Green Bolt: quarter-circle away - HIGH PUNCH
Shadow Kick : back - forward - LOW KICK

Ball Breaker : LOW PUNCH + BLOCK
Fatalities: four down - two forward - LOW PUNCH **
(Cage grabs the victim and rips their torso off, throwing it
to the ground.)

(Baraka extends his blades from his arms, then decapitates
the victim with one swipe.)
(Baraka stabs the victim and lifts them up, then they slowly
slide down the blade.)
