  7. During the 6 mos last summer and fall during which i could not get
  8. my tailight to stay fixed i was pulled over a total of 14 times,
  9. asked for permission to search 11. I refused each time.  I always
  10. had a large supply of the "Notice to Law Enforcement Officers"
  11. cards appended below, and explained to the officer that after
  12. producing and distributing thousands of them i could not set a bad
  13. example by consenting myself. Result... not one search.

  15. It helps that my long hair is streaked w grey. Cops tend to defer
  16. to the superior legal knowledge of anyone older than they are.  It
  17. also helps to present an ACLU membership card, casting you as
  18. someone refusing not because of something to hide, but because of
  19. a fanatic dedication to the Constitution.
