  4. This CD-ROM contains the SIMTEL20 MSDOS Archive.
  5.  
  6. Although you may own this disk, you do not own the programs recorded on
  7. it.  Many of the programs on this disk are shareware.  You are free to
  8. try each program for a limited amount of time.  If you are satisfied,
  9. and want to continue to use the program, you are expected to register
  10. the program by sending a specified amount of money directly to the the
  11. author of the program.  In many cases the author will send you the most
  12. up to date version of the program and a printed manual.

  14. Please check the individual files for specific information on the terms
  15. of use and distribution.

  17. If you have access to the internet, you can access the SIMTEL20 archives
  18. via anonymous ftp at WSMR-SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL.  There are also mirror sites
  19. at WUARCHIVE.WUSTL.EDU and OAK.OAKLAND.EDU.

  26. The maintainers of the SIMTEL20 archive asked me to include this
  27. disclaimer:

  29.     Due to the large number of files available, the SIMTEL20 archive
  30.     maintainers cannot possibly attempt to validate the proper
  31.     operation of the various programs.  When a program bug is
  32.     reported, immediate action is taken to either correct the error or
  33.     remove the offending program from the archives.  Still, users must
  34.     understand that all archive programs are offered AS IS, and the
  35.     archive maintainers specifically disclaim any liability should
  36.     these programs malfunction or cause damage, incidental or
  37.     otherwise.  When testing ANY new software, be certain that all
  38.     information stored on disk is backed-up before you start, so that
  39.     you can recover if files are damaged or erased.  This is
  40.     particularly true if you have a hard disk, in which case
  41.     malfunctions can be spectacularly disastrous.
